Choice Band Syclant is a check to SD Garchomp. Syclant naturally outspeeds Garchomp at +0 Speed, and is capable of OHKOing with Icicle Crash and even Ice Shard before any defense drops from Scale Shot. In a pinch, Syclant can also come in on an unboosted Earthquake (or a predicted Stone Edge, thanks to Mountaineer) in order to force Garchomp out or KO it, ignoring Stealth Rock damage on the way in. Although Syclant being outsped by Garchomp at +1 or beyond is alleviated by Ice Shard, Syclant cannot take any +2 attack due to its frailty and will most likely need a safe switch in order to come in.

Prankster Tomohawk is a counter to Garchomp. Garchomp can never set-up and try to 1v1 the Tomohawk as it has to hit 5 Scale shots twice in a row, while Tomohawk both Hazes away the Swords Dance boosts away and consistently Roosts off the damage. Tomohawk at no point has to attack the Garchomp as it can afford to have it kill itself with Life Orb. If the Chomp user has opted for Lefties, the damage is pitiful and you can Aura Sphere for over a third of its life.

Defensive Landorus-T operates as a workable check to Swords Dance Garchomp. The defensive investment ensures that +1 Garchomp cannot OHKO Landorus at +1 with Scale Shot. In return, Landorus deals sizable damage back to Garchomp with Earthquake, effectively ending its sweep, as Garchomp can get off only one to two more hits after tanking an EQ. If you get lucky with Scale Shot hits, Landorus-T can even straight up 2HKO it and live afterwards. Leftovers is the preferred item for this reason, as it makes some calcs with Scale Shot a little more favorable, as well as negating some of the damage that Landorus might incur switch into Rocks.

Arghonaut is a counter to Garchomp. Because of its ability, swords dance does nothing vs Arghonaut. Arghonaut avoids the 2hko from Garchomp's earthquake and recover spam vs it while it takes life orb damage which wears down Garchomp. Garchomp needs 5 hits on Scale Shot with rocks up to guarantee 2hko Arghonaut from full hp which is roughly only 16% each time. Aside from countering Garchomp, it also provides spikes support and can knock off items on its switchins. It can also check cawm if it is healthy enough.

Galarian Slowking simply demolishes Jumbao, and is probably the best counter to it available. It can eat any attack Jumbao throws at it with relative ease and Regens off any damage it takes from that attack or from hazards. G-King easily OHKO's Jumbao with Sludge Bomb, and has the ability to set up Future Sight on it. Additionally, because G-King is a mon you switch into Jumbao, it very rarely traces Regen, causing Jumbao to get worn down quite fast if hazards are on the field.

Aegislash is a counter to Jumbao. Aegislash is an extremely bulky Steel-type with an immunity to Focus Blast and, of course, to the rare Toxic. Even with Moonblast getting a SpA drop, Jumbao stays in 2HKO range; meanwhile, a Flash Cannon after Life Orb recoil has a solid 44% chance to kill! Aegislash can be worn down with hazards as it's susceptible to all forms of them; however, with its signature move, King's Shield, both scouting and recovering up gradually with Leftovers is but a guarantee. Trace also doesn't work on King's Shield so Jumbao stays Ability-less!

Moltres is a Counter to Jumbao. While Moltres is definitely on the downspin from it's peak usage early in the DLC-2, it can still work as an effective answer for Jumbao. Jumbao can't touch Moltres as long as it still has its boots on, while Moltres immediately forces Jumbao out with Mystical Fire. The fun added benifit is that Mystical Fire lowers SpAtt; allowing Moltres to wall Jumbao easier, as well as making Jumb's Special attacking teammates easier to switch into (Slowking, Gastro, etc.).

Moltres can also act as a halfway decent defoger, and an answer for Libra, Heatran and Rilla (just watch out for Knock Off!).

However, Syclant needs to be brought in on a safe switch in order to avoid being massively chunked or even outright OHKO'd, although in an absolute pinch, it can tank a Leaf Storm or even a Focus Blast from full health to try to nail the KO.
