Hello and welcome to the first edition of SS OU Last Chance. For those who need more circuit points to qualify for ribbon playoffs this is the tour for you. Please take some time to read the rules outlined below as this tour will work a bit differently than standard circuit tours.

SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard SS OU tournament. All matches must be played in the [Gen 8] OU format.
  • This tournament will be Single Elimination, No Johns. For those unaware, "No Johns" will have much shorter round deadlines (3-4 days depending) as well as no grantable extensions.
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown! (Main or SmogTours)
  • Replays will be required starting from top 16/24.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a Tournament Director. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the SS OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.
  • Banned Pokémon
    • All Pokémon in the "Uber" tier.
  • Banned Moves
    • Baton Pass
  • Banned Abilities
    • Arena Trap, Shadow Tag, Power Construct
  • Clauses
    • Sleep Clause, Species Clause, OKHO Clause, Evasion Clause, Moody Clause, Endless Battle Clause, Dynamax Clause
What are we playing for?
This tournament will award points towards the 2024 SS OU Circuit, which awards a ribbon to the winner of the entire circuit.

The deadline to complete these matches is Sunday, October 27th @ 11:59pm -4. (Reminder that extensions will not be allowed at any point bar finals for this tour)

Quick update on the ramifications of this finals matchup regarding Circuit Playoffs:

  • entrocefalo, Larry, Baddy, lou dort, clean and One Last Kiss have sealed their seedings in the playoffs regardless of the result.
  • Luigi is unfortunately out of the playoffs since the winner of the finals will secure a spot in the playoffs by winning 3000 circuit points.
  • lolebruh's playoff hopes lie on IPF winning the finals as devin will only have 2405 points if he loses, allowing Lolebruh to enter the playoffs as the 16th seed. IPF will accumulate 2595 points if he finishes 2nd place, knocking Lolebruh out of the top 16.
  • IPF will secure the 6th seed over Slowpoke Fan if he wins while devin will finish 10th over Sachumberto if he walks away with the victory.
With this out of the way, I'm looking forward to top-tier Pokemoning from both finalists!

Edit: I was told by Siatam that I handled the Last Chance points distribution incorrectly as it being a single elimination tournament would mean that the positions below top 2 would receive more points:
