Alright yall- closing sign ups- enjoy the 10 free points! The three that made me laugh the most were Catalisador GW and Rubicon - enjoy the bonus! Lets get onto the tour placements!

As our first seeded Boss with 96 points over 8 weeks, your____bro
#2? NU moderator and resident cool kid Ho3nConfirm3d, with 69 points (nice)
Rounding out the top 3 bosses is skierdude101 with 68 points, and the only person to win creative set multiple times
Our fourth place boss, resident Ninjask Jesus Mariannabelle , with a total of 57 points and the distinction of being the only person with over 20 points in one week
Fifth boss? Yardy know its Parpar , with 41 points
Resident Packers fan and also somewhat cool kid Luck O' the Irish is the 6th seeded boss, with 37 points.
Cold as ice, our 7th seeded boss is none other than Rubicon , with 25 points
And last, but certainly not least, our 8th boss is Elias PSY , who has the distinction of being the first boss in the history of the project!

As for Wild Cards (Seeds 9-12)

Yours truly is the first WC seed, with 78 points over these 8 weeks
The second WC/ 10th seed is none other than resident NU moderator and person who somehow is always taking out the trash, xerovis with 42 points
Oddly enough, we have a tie for the 11th and 12th seeds, the baller Combusken and Pincurchin meme maker Yoshiblaze , and NU sleeper and the user who got driver one minute before me, GW . Both ended with 29 points.

These are the playoff players and who are in the running for the title of the Sauciest Boss! Congrats to everyone in the first postseason of BOTS, you earned it!

If you want to see the results over the week, here is the sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jbaDgB0N5r0lY55xBjTIR5PrRptnRjQ3OSw6Xa90NnM/edit?usp=sharing

Howdy everyone, remember this project? I don't either, gonna give a bit of a rundown of the last 2 1/2 months and what happened to this

tl;dr - I was busy w exams and kept pushing back the tour, going to scrap the idea for said tour and crown your____bro as the sauciest boss just based on points (96 over 8 weeks). Congrats brother! I know thats disappointing to the rest of the bosses and wild cards but this project will continue to be dead if I don't make a decision on what to do

HOWEVER, I'm going to be announcing season 2 of BOTS with a new objective and focus here in a double-post. WE BACK!

It's been quite some time since this project saw any activity. I'm glad to announce that we are back in business starting NOW! I've made a couple changes to how I'm hosting this project, namely enlisting two co-hosts to help me out. SpacialRendevous and daniYSB are gonna be on here posting weeks and results. The 3 headed goat has arrived.

I've also made a couple changes from season 1- There are no more points! This is because I feel as though it was too much of a commitment to play every single week. Now a boss will be determined in the same way, but everything resets as we go into the next week to even the playing field (see the OP for details).

There will still be a creative set vote, but this will be for praise for the innovation.

Signups still work the same way as before, but this time its with the prefix "S2BOTSW (your name)" (season 2 boss of the sauce week #). For example, my week 1 alt may be "S2BOTS1 Aawin."

I'll have week one posted soon :) WE BACK FR THIS TIME

Alright yall- S2 W1 is here! As a true American with Independence Day this weekend, the theme for this week is

Red, White, and Baller

This theme is simple- Two mons on your team must be primarily red, two must be primarily white, and the other two must be mainly blue. Confirm with me, Dani, or Spacial if there are any questions. The color is determined the the dex (/dt pokemon), and shiny mons do not count towards the color requirements

For this week, register your alt in this thread with the prefix "S2BOTS1" name. This week will last until July 9th 11:59 PM EST

Once the week ends, please post your final ELO and creative set! Any laddering done after the deadline may result in disqualification for the next week

Happy laddering!

So, I'm gonna be posting early because I'm gonna be a tad busy for the next couple of days and don't know if I'll be able to ladder some more. If I do, I might upgrade this one, but that's unlikely, so here it goes!

:druddigon: :togetic: :dubwool: :sandslash-alola: :vaporeon: :talonflame:
click the sprites for importable

Vs. Mariannabelle's broken anti-hazard Ninjask sample team: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1370643245-jytcdhx2o0q176i1ci80iknfc6mzxt0pw

Vs. some sort of Trick Room: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1369959294-2buninunpmo0t1an9i90237acdjjjkvpw

Vs. Sablenite's BOTS team (spoilers, I guess please only watch after finishing your laddering owo): https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1369506033-myzk4i58khbo1rbqj3r5nfjj6oa65fepw

Just some replays vs. raging opponents cause sometimes it's funny:

I guess many of the sets could be considered creative, eh? But I'll go with Togetic :togetic:, cause that's the most unusual one!
P.S.: shoutouts to Sandslash-alola. It is absolutely busted and should be C+ minimum.

Ight I'm throwing in the towel, I think Turt is going to win the week after passing cata just this evening and I don't know if I have enough time this eve to contend so I'm calling it here. Managed to play 20 matches.

This was a pretty fun opening week and the theme made it quite challenging to do any standard builds.

I made a bunch of teams but only laddered with 2:

1625865056530.png

Reds: Drudd, Vile
Blues: Exploud, Vape
Whites: Toge, Pass

This team was fun to use for the few matches I played with it, but I ended up just wanting something a bit faster paced since its BOTS. This team is a fat balance centered around giving exploud the best possible chance to break any and everything in its path. Sploud is the sole breaker while Vileplume, Vape and Toge create a very annoying and bulky defensive core with double wish support, heal bell and corrosive gas collectively. Drudd acted as the lead to set rocks, as well as to glare some targets that might allow Exploud to get ahead. Finally pass on this team acted as speed control and another pivot opening up the flexibility of the team and adding a cleaner in a pinch. Overall, the team was fun to use but a bit slow for my tastes, however it was really easy to keep things healthy with this defensive trio, and gave ample opportunities for exploud to burst. The team's main pitfall is that it lacks removal and I couldn't figure out how to fit it on while adhering to the week's restrictions.

Reds: Ttrum, Centi
Blues: Stoise, Vika
Whites: Cursola, Pass

I played the bulk of my matches with this team. This team centered around using the standard Endure+Weak Armor HO cursola lead to get rocks up (and do a range of other things ranging from just die to literally kill like 3 mons in a row) and then proceed to pressure/ get into a position to set webs with bulky vika, then finish the team off with one of the two Setup killers in stoise or trum. Since the team has no removal, Boots Centi and Defiant Band Pass are used in the midgame to keep up some offensive pressure. Passimian really surprised me with the insane power of defiant boosted band, in some circumstances getting up to 1500 atk lol. As well this team reminded me that Centiskorch truly has a ton of potential. Vikavolt with the weird Hp/spdef spread I ran acted as an emergency mowtom and helio check, and did its job well and reminding me of the thicc charjabug from BOTS S1 W1. Overall the team was fun and got some wins however, there's a key period in the early game where the lack of immediate speed on the team really hurt. Outside of Cursola reaching 318+ after weak armor, all the other mons are sub 300 before boosts, and really depend on webs to get ahead of the opponents. For that reason this team struggled against more offensive teams if it couldn't get set up quickly enough.

Here are some interesting replays from the week:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1369887150-13tt0xzm78q8luzcn1tx2rvw7gd566xpw - vs Elpsy's Corsola-G

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1370750136-316dftr2zx6aa5xlaq06tzw32prazcipw - vs Sirfetch'd, monke the avenger

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1371940537 - spdef Vika stomaching some hits ez

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1373793750 - Doggo's busted out screens

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1373806987 - monke getting swoled out

Overall, a fun opening week!! So excited for this project as always - Thanks to the hosts for reviving for a second season, lets have some more fun!

Edit: forgot creative set - I guess it'll be spdef vika:

Ability: Levitate

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch
