Week 17
The mon that needs some love this time is...............
:ss/mienshao:
Mienshao @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Katy

Banned deucer.
braviary

:bw/braviary:
Braviary (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Roost

Braviary is a great teammate for :mienshao: as it can come in on Ghost-Types such as Dhelmise, Deciduye and Golurk and therefore complements it really well. It threatens the Poltegeist spammers and can dish out huge damage to the foremer too and can check reliably the latter with its immunity to both its STABs in Ghost and Ground. Braviary can also threaten Golisopod and Vileplume which Mienshao might struggle with.
In return Mienshao can threaten alot of faster Pokemon like Salazzle, Starmie and Zoroark with its faster Speed tier due to its Choice Scarf. Mienshao and Braviary build up a very great core as Mienshao can bring it in with U-turn and Braviary has the longevity with Roost and Heavy-Duty Boots therefore this core isn't easy to bring down, as Mienshao itself profits from its ability in Regenerator.

Salazzle (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Corrosion
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Substitute
- Protect

Salazzle is anamazing partner for Mienshao that I have used myself in round 1 of Never Used League. It basically abuses 99% of the common Mienshao switchins e.g. Vileplume, Sylveon and Arcanine. SubTox Salazzle is prob the most overlooked but has so much potential when played correctly as most teams dont prepare for it (which is kinda hard to begin with). Mienshao obviously really appreciates the opposing pokemon being worn down by Toxic as it makes it easier to clean up in the late game.
There is no real defensive synergy in them as both are really frail, but they arent supposed to anyway, so it is not a big deal.

Drapion-
Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
- Earthquake
Mienshao dislikes cress, fairies, and poisons. Drapion beats all of these and sets up toxic spikes which allow Mienshao to punish its switch in with poison/toxic status. Mienshao also often clicks u turn which gives drapion free switch in oppurtunities to break through the opposing team and set up toxic spikes.

broken cress
Cresselia sprite from Black & White

Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Def / 20 SpA / 144 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight
- Moonblast

You know what they say, "throw together all the broken shit and you can't lose", well that's true here, too. Mienshao will help eliminate and pressure the Steel's that give you a significantly better time with Cress and will deal massive damage into Drapion so that it can't beat you either. Cress will also set up on basically every Shao answer, such as the Fairy's and Vileplume, without breaking a sweat. Everyone should try this potent combo and BAN BOTH.

Future Sight + U-Turn Galarcuno
:ss/Articuno-Galar:
Articuno-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Future Sight
- Hurricane / Shadow Ball
- Recover
- U-turn

Mienshao struggles with poison types like Vileplume, a Pokemon Articuno-Galar can deal with. In return, Mienshao takes care of steel and dark types. Future Sight is to put pressure on the opposing team. Hurricane is STAB. You could use Shadow Ball instead to hit Bronzong. Recover is for healing. U-Turn is pivoting, and is useful with Future Sight to switch into a Pokémon that forces out a Pokemon that resists Future Sight.

Dragalge @ Black Sludge
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 124 SpA / 132 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Sludge Bomb
- Flip Turn
- Toxic Spikes

Dragalge and Mienshao work well together as a core because both Pokémon ensure that you almost never lose momentum. Dragalge also baits in steel types, which mienshao threatens. The physically defensive mons that deal with Mienshao are mostly susceptible to toxic spikes, which can whittle them down signicantly.

I disagree, this ermine does not need love its already the most spammed annoyance in NU

But alas

:ss/bronzong:

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Body Press
- Toxic / Heavy Slam

As a partner for Zonger, Mienshao can put great pressure on teams and can tend to force a defensive switch in from the opponent in many situations, allowing many opportunities to pivot Bronzong in to set up rocks against something like Vileplume. Bronzong can be used as a defensive switch in and resist for a few situations where Mienshao is actually going to be outsped, such as against agility Braviary BB, or Ninjask's Acro. Mienshao can most likely soak up a dark attack for Bronzong if need be and get in only to be healed up later by Regenerator. In addition to Bronzong's rocks support, Mienshao appreciates Zong's further chipping of the enemy through spreading toxic, allowing Mienshao to clean up easier late game.

:ss/copperajah:
Copperajah @ Assault Vest
Ability: Heavy Metal
EVs: 252 Atk / 212 SpD / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Heat Crash
- Power Whip
- Earthquake

Surprised nobody picked this yet but Capper Raj is an ideal teammate for Mienshao since Mienshao despises Fairies and one well-placed Heavy Slam erases stuff like Diancie, Sylveon, and Comfey too. In return, Shao kills the opposing Steel types that Copperajah would rather not face since they can wear it down.
