Aegislash @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Close Combat
- Head Smash

Assault Vest Tornadus-T is usually a good switch-in to the more common Choice Specs and Swords Dance Aegislash thanks to its bulk and high Speed, coming in, threatening an OHKO with Heat Wave, and being able to use Regenerator to heal off most of the damage, but Choice Band-boosted Head Smash blows it out of the sky:

252+ Atk Choice Band Aegislash-Blade Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-Therian: 684-806 (188.9 - 222.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

(Technically you don't need Choice Band for this, but it's the only Aegislash set I can think of that has room to fit Head Smash.)

Dragapult @ Life Orb
Ability: Infiltrator / Clear Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Atk
Naive Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Dragon Darts
- Fire Blast / Thunderbolt
- U-Turn

This is admittedly pretty close to Band - tell me if it's too close and I'll delete - but I prefer mixed LO, since it still smacks around special walls without having to rely on Phantom Force for its Ghost STAB. Note that since DDarts punches through subs anyway, you can run Clear Body instead to give Lando the finger. (You can also run Hex alongside a status move over SBall alongside coverage, but that's probably getting too close to HDB. Man, Pult sure has a lot of sets.)

252 SpA Life Orb Dragapult Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Assault Vest Tornadus-Therian: 95-113 (26.3 - 31.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
4 Atk Life Orb Dragapult Dragon Darts (2 hits) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-Therian: 198-236 (54.8 - 65.3%) -- approx. 2HKO

Switch into Shadow Ball + Rocks + DDarts = Dead Torn, or just 2HKO with DDarts outright.

Dragapult @ Dragon Fang

Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 116 Atk / 140 SpA / 252 Spe

Naive Nature
- Shadow Ball / Hex

- Dragon Darts
- U-turn

- Draco Meteor / Thunder Wave

I've seen this set and spread here so for further explanation read this post; basically this set capitalizes on pult's great attack stat and stab dragon darts - combined with dragon fang - to soundly 2hko av tornadus. this set can either hit torn-t with dracometeor into dragon fang, which deals around 90% min from full, or, if tornt is statused, pressure it with hex until its in darts range.
draco meteor + dragon darts is the preferred combination for the particular task of luring av torn-t because no-one expects pult to run both at the same time. hex+twave can ruin torn-t as well, but doesn't have the same KO potential

116 Atk Dragon Fang Dragapult Dragon Darts (2 hits) vs. 248 HP / 4 Def Tornadus-Therian: 204-240 (56.5 - 66.4%) -- approx. 2HKO
140 SpA Dragon Fang Dragapult Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Assault Vest Tornadus-Therian: 127-151 (35.1 - 41.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

alternatively,
140 SpA Dragapult Hex (130 BP) vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Assault Vest Tornadus-Therian: 106-126 (29.3 - 34.9%) -- 10.1% chance to 3HKO

for more damage with ghost stab or draco meteor, a spread on 116 atk / 232 spatk / 160 spe can be run: it still outspeeds koko but maximizes power.

of course, if the team already does a good job spreading status, hex can be run without twave, but for the sake of luring tornt, either twave+hex pressure into dragon darts, or even better, draco meteor into dragon darts (91.7 - 108.2%)

reserving stone edge swampert

:ss/swampert:

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Flip Turn
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Toxic

Tornadus-Therian generally doesn’t fear Swampert that much, since it can pull Regenerator BS and heal all the damage Swampert could ever do with Flip Turn. However, with Stone Edge, Swampert can threaten Tornadus-T quite solidly. No Attack investment is needed to 2HKO Torn-T, meaning you can still pack a ton of SpDef investment. You can eat all of Tornadus-T’s hits quite efficiently, and as a plus, you can also hit stuff like Weavile and Volcarona for more damage.

0 SpA Tornadus-Therian Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Swampert: 100-118 (24.7 - 29.2%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Swampert Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-Therian: 188-222 (51.9 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 Atk Swampert Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 156 Def Volcarona: 360-424 (96.5 - 113.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

0 Atk Swampert Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Weavile: 222-262 (79 - 93.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So yeah, I would call this an effective lure not only for Torn-T, but for other mons mentioned. Just don’t miss like a skilled player!

After counting last round's votes, the winner is Katy's Toxic Kartana! Congratulations, your submission will be added to the Hall Of Fame soon :toast:

This week's threat is... Tapu Koko!

Tapu Koko @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-turn

- Roost

Coming all the way from Mele-Mele, the Guardian Deity Tapu Koko is ready to pivot its way into OU! A wonderful offensive typing, great stats and an amazing ability make it a threat to account for that can abuse prominent walls in the metagame like Corviknight and Toxapex, so you better keep your Ground-type healthy to keep it on check. How would you lure and remove the electric bird from the equation?

You have 5 days to post a Tapu Koko lure, happy posting! :)

Tornadus-Therian @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Timid Nature
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 92 SpD / 168 Spe
- Nasty Plot
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave

Tapu Koko is known for being one of the best Tornadus-T checks as it resists Hurricane and Focus Blast, don’t mind that much taking a Heat Wave, takes very low damage on U-turn and doesn’t mind that much taking a Knock Off. As Tapu Koko can just Roost off the damage taken while threatening Tornadus-T with a terrain boosted Thunderbolt, it will often come in against Tornadus-T thinking it is completely safe.

Now how can Tornadus-T abuse this ease to attract Tapu Koko? Well, Torn-T has an interesting yet almost never used coverage move that can catch any Tapu Koko off-guad: Sludge Wave. Sludge Wave deals massive damage to Tapu Koko (and this even without offensive investments). Now, if Sludge Wave is a cool tool to weaken Tapu Koko and not letting in for free on Torn-T, it doesn’t OHKO and Tapu Koko may be able to Roost the damage off later or as you are forced out by the threat of Thunderbolt. Therefore, I’m suggesting a set that may seems weird at first sight but is actually the best way to lure in Tapu Koko and remove it from the game.

Indeed, the given Spread let you take a Thunderbolt from Tapu Koko (calcs are in the end) and thus, you can Nasty Plot as Tapu Koko comes in and OHKO it with a +2 Sludge Wave while taking any hits it can fire. Sludge Wave also helps beating Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini and Clefable which can be annoying for Nasty Plot Tornadus-T. Having defensive investment also means you will have an easier time setting up and beating more bulky teams. Lastly, the given spread allows you to outspeed Kartana and all base 110 Speed Pokemon.

252 SpA Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Tornadus-Therian in Electric Terrain: 306-360 (84.7 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 0 SpA Tornadus-Therian Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 374-440 (133 - 156.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Buzzwole is able to lure in Tapu Koko, due to it resisting its standard moves and reliably recovering the hits off with Roost. Buzzwole can fill out the 3rd offensive move for Earthquake. Expert Belt is used to guarantee an OHKO without revealing a Life Orb.

168+ Atk Expert Belt Buzzwole Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 326-386 (116 - 137.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- Scald

Normally after rocks toxapex can drop to thunderbolt, by bluffing a phys. def set with rocky helmet, you can can make tapu koko believe it has an easy ohko until you live and gunk shot it back easily OHKO'ing it. Tapu koko most likely also can come in on standard knock + scald toxapex, and if you keep gunk a secret they can switch in and will take advantage of you unless you gunk shot them into oblivion

164+ Atk Toxapex Gunk Shot vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 282-332 (100.3 - 118.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Toxapex in Electric Terrain: 212-252 (69.9 - 83.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Timid Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Psyshock
- Roost
- U-turn

:mew: Haha, Tapu Koko! I have lured you!

:tapu-koko: Aw man, I have been lured…!

this set is a more offensive take on mew. it can OHKO koko and stomach any of its hits. psyshock is just here for STAB + stuff like blissey. roost and u-turn are self explanatory. get mew in with a slow pivot and kill the koko more or less.

252 SpA Life Orb Mew Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 283-335 (100.7 - 119.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew in Electric Terrain: 154-183 (45.1 - 53.6%) -- 37.1% chance to 2HKO

Garchomp @ Roseli Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang/Stone Edge
- Scale Shot

Equipped with a Roseli Berry, Garchomp can lure and win the 1v1 vs nearly every Fairy in the metagame, which is all the more true for Tapu Koko.

Koko thinks that it can switch in safely to RK Chomp, only for Dazzling Gleam to fail to even 2HKO Chomp. Then, Koko stares in horror as Chomp clicks EQ and eliminates it from the game, opening up the game for mons that hate Koko like Hawlucha, G-Moltres etc..

252 SpA Tapu Koko Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Roseli Berry Garchomp: 120-142 (33.6 - 39.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 374-444 (133 - 158%) -- guaranteed OHKO

If koko gets a free switch in against Hydreigon it would try and kill it with a dazzling gleam, but with Roseli Berry it can take one dazzling gleam and fire back with an Earth Power. Modest is used to get better rolls against Tapu Koko.

252+ SpA Hydreigon Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 264-312 (93.9 - 111%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

Zapdos-Galar @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Stomping Tantrum

Roadrunner is a solid lure for Tapu Koko, as it is a potent physical attacker of which Tapu Koko is one of the best checks for. Flying & Fighting are such excellent attacking STABs that Tapu Koko is one of the only OU mons that can reliably switch in. Even if your opponent suspects Zapdos-Galar may be able hit Koko, they are hard pressed to have any other options to stop it.

252 Atk Choice Band Zapdos-Galar Stomping Tantrum vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 272-322 (96.7 - 114.5%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
