Ok, so i haven't posted in forever, cause work and shit, sorry, but it's finally time to get to the votes!

Surprisingly, we have a tie between our checks and counters!
Checks: :ss/weezing-galar: :bw/tangrowth:
Counters: :bw/volcarona: :bw/togekiss:

So, I decided that we'd have a coinflip to decide who wins this round!

1602896058194.png

1602896094721.png

/hide
Therefore, The LpZ and Tysonslayer win with Tangrowth and Volcarona, respectively!

Now onto our final target before the DLC hits...
:ss/dragapult:
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hex

Dragapult! Ever since the beginning of SWSH, this pokemon has stood out as one of the most premier pokemon in the metagame, and its metagame-defining Choice Specs set stays strong in this meta! With incredible speed and power to back it up, you'll need some surefire countermeasures against this stealth bomber psuedo-legendary!

Reserving Blissey
Blissey @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Bold Nature
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
- Teleport
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave
Nominating Blissey as a counter. Blissey can eat any of Pult's attacks and then cripple it's effectiveness with thunder wave. Furthermore, pult has to switch out due to not having U-turn, meaning you can teleport out to gain momentum as well.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 225-265 (31.5 - 37.1%) -- 81.6% chance to 3HKO

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rock Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Protect / Rest
- Thunder Wave / Toxic

SpDef TTar is a Counter to Specs Dragapult. While Draco Meteor does around 40%, between Protect and Leftovers, Tyranitar can usually get back to a decent amount relatively quickly. Tyranitar can Paralyze/Poison Dragapult, and either attack or protect stall it out until Dragapult is KO'd.

mandibuzz

:ss/Mandibuzz:
Mandibuzz @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 160 Def / 44 SpD / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Knock Off

- U-turn

Mandibuzz is a check to Choice Specs Dragapult, it can come in on Hex and Shadow Ball and it can come in on Flamethrower as well. However, Mandibuzz has to be careful about coming in on a Specs-boosted Draco Meteor as it has a a rather high roll, but in overall Mandibuzz checks Dragapult rather easily as it can also Knock Off the Specs over the course of the game, which means Dragapult loses its Wallbreaking-Potential.

calcs:
0 Atk Mandibuzz Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dragapult: 186-222 (58.6 - 70%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
0- Atk Mandibuzz Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dragapult: 272-324 (85.8 - 102.2%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 44 SpD Mandibuzz: 89-105 (21 - 24.8%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Flamethrower vs. 248 HP / 44 SpD Mandibuzz: 134-158 (31.6 - 37.3%) -- 86.6% chance to 3HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Hex (65 BP) vs. 248 HP / 44 SpD Mandibuzz: 72-86 (17 - 20.3%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 44 SpD Mandibuzz: 289-342 (68.3 - 80.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Due to the Crown Tundra being a few hours away, I gotta wrap this one up quick, see?

but since we’re lacking in submissions, I’ll add one just to be safe.
:Urshifu:
Urshifu @ Life Orb
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Wicked Blow
- Sucker Punch
- Close Combat

Check. Gets blown to shreds by Draco Meteor, and 2HKOed by Flamethrower, but it can eat Ghost STAB in a pinch, and KO back with Sucker Punch.

Ok ok, get to voting! I know we have a small roster this time around, but don’t worry! There’ll be some real threats that we’ll nominate for this thread!

1check and 1 counter!

Checks

Counters

Alright then, it’s time to get this thing back on track! You’ve all waited too long, but Victim of the Week is finally back!

Our winners of last week must receive congratulations first, however. Good job to Sickist for winning with Tyranitar! I had won with Urshifu for the checks, but congratulating myself seems boring, so let’s get on with our new fresh meat!

Alright then, it’s time to get this thing back on track! You’ve all waited too long, but Victim of the Week is finally back!
And today, we’ll be starting with The Roach of Wrath, the Bug of Offense-Busters, the Ultra Beast of Ultra Speed, it’s PHEROMOSAAAAA!!!!!

:sm/pheromosa:
Pheromosa @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin / Drill Run

This mon is a menace to account for offensively minded teams, and proves to be a headache for bulkier teams as well! What’s your plan for keeping this nasty alien at bay?

reserving moltres
Nominating moltres as a counter
Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Timid Nature
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 156 Spe
- Scorching Sands
- Roost
- Defog
- Flamethrower
Standard defensive moltres set, nothing too much. It can punish u-turns from pheromosa with flame body and can switch in on any of pheromosa's attacks to force it out. Moltres has been very good this metagame, also being able to check the likes of melmetal, blaziken lacking thunder punch, and rillaboom.
252 Atk Pheromosa Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 104 Def Moltres: 99-117 (25.8 - 30.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 SpA Moltres Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Pheromosa: 560-660 (197.8 - 233.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Tapu Fini

:ss/tapu fini:
Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Scald
- Knock Off

- Taunt

:tapu fini: is a counter to Pheromosa, as it can come in on any attack Pheromosa can dish out and can threaten Pheromosa back with a straight OHKO due to its STAB-attack in Moonblast. Furthermore, Pheromosas coverage options won't do much damage either. To add onto that, Tapu Fini can regain some Health with the help from Leftovers, which it carries and Knock Off can remove the Heavy-Duty Boots Pheromosa wears, so it takes damage every time it comes in on the field and entry hazards are up.

0 SpA Tapu Fini Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Pheromosa: 468-552 (165.3 - 195%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 SpA Tapu Fini Scald vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Pheromosa: 196-232 (69.2 - 81.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0- Atk Tapu Fini Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pheromosa: 53-62 (18.7 - 21.9%) -- possible 5HKO

252 Atk Pheromosa Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tapu Fini: 67-79 (19.4 - 22.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Pheromosa U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tapu Fini: 39-46 (11.3 - 13.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever
4 SpA Pheromosa Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Fini: 34-40 (9.8 - 11.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252 Atk Pheromosa Drill Run vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tapu Fini: 60-71 (17.4 - 20.6%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Pheromosa Rapid Spin vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tapu Fini: 38-45 (11 - 13%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Buzzwole as a counter.

Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 196 Def / 64 Spe
Impish Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Roost
- Toxic / Earthquake

64 Speed hits 210 Speed and beats out Adamant Crawdaunt (thus serving as a counter).

4 SpA Life Orb Pheromosa Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 183-217 (43.7 - 51.9%) -- 11.7% chance to 2HKO

Even LO Pheromosa has a tough time breaking through this fatty. Buzzwole also has reliable recovery in Roost and also handles another big threat in Zygarde.

Regieleki @ Focus Sash
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 234 HP / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
Serious Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Light Screen
- Rapid Spin
Submitting as a check.
One sentence: 252+ SpA Transistor Regieleki Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Pheromosa: 433-510 (153 - 180.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
It also out speeds.

Spectrier @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Grim Neigh
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Hex

- Will-O-Wisp

- Mud Shot
nominating Scarf Spectrier as a counter to Pheromosa. It is able to switch into any of the moves that Pheromosa has with minimal damage taken (while also having the benefit of being immune to Rapid Spin and Close Combat), while also being able to outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa with a Modest Shadow Ball. The rest of the moves aren't really relevant in the context of countering Pheromosa, but I just added some common moves run by Spectrier. See calcs below. Also take into note that you shouldn't be running Spectrier as a dedicated counter to Pheromosa when teambuilding, but knowing that Spectrier can counter it is nice to have in the back of your head.
252 Atk Pheromosa U-turn vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Spectrier: 90-106 (26.3 - 30.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
4 SpA Pheromosa Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Spectrier: 102-121 (29.8 - 35.3%) -- 23.9% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Pheromosa Drill Run vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Spectrier: 137-162 (40 - 47.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Spectrier Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Pheromosa: 370-436 (130.7 - 154%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Caesarr

formerly CaesarzeppeliXD
Nominating toxapex as a counter.

Toxapex @ Black sludge/Rocky helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Haze / Scald
- Scald/ Toxic spikes / Toxic
- Knock Off
- Recover

Not much to say, drill run can't even 2hko pex, and we can punish u-turn with rocky helmet, pex can take advantage of pheromosa and set up tspikes or knock off items.

252 Atk Pheromosa Drill Run vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 98-116 (32.2 - 38.1%) -- 95.7% chance to 3HKO

Taking out Chople Berry Ferro since despite its ability to chew one and KO back with gyro,
It’s really suboptimal and you’d rather be better off running Leftovers Ferro alongside the very Pokémon in our voting slate that check Pheromosa AND pair beautifully with it to boot. Sorry, M24 !

Anyway, vote for one check and one counter each!
CHECKS
:buzzwole:
:regieleki:
:pelipper:

COUNTERS:
:tapu fini:
:spectrier:
:toxapex:
:moltres:
