As BDSP are coming at the end of the week, let’s feature a Pokemon who appeared with the original Gen 4 games: Magnezone!

If a lot of Magnezone run Iron Defense + Body Press to trap and beat Pokemon like Ferrothorn, this set intends to be way more threatening while still being able to trap Pokemon like Corviknight and Skarmory. Equipped with a Choice Specs, this Pokemon is a hard hitter able to spam a super strong Volt Switch while threatening Ground types with both Toxic and Flash Cannon. If some Specs Magnezone used alongside with Tapu Koko run Rising Voltage over Thunderbolt, we will just consider the Thunderbolt version here (to avoid making the exercise too hard). What Pokemon would you use to check or counter this magnetic demon?

Zeraora is a great offensive and defensiver answer alike to Magnezone. Zeraora is capable of beating Magnezone and setting up on it with a Bulk Up as with Volt Absorb as its ability it can easily acts as a Volt Switch deterrent and furthermore gains health back from occasions it previously lost health. It can also withstand Flash Cannon pretty well, as it isnt super effective on Zeraora due to Zeraoras great typing in Electric. Zeraora can also Knock Off its Choice Specs meaning Magnezone is less powerful and gets hindered as a strong special wallbreaker in the progress of the game. Zeraora can also use eitehr Close Combat for more damage output or Drain Punch to further gain health back. With all those points combined, Zeraora is a great check to Magnezone:
