Here we are, in group C of the inaugural gen 8 BBP tournament! In the left corner, we have nightblitz42, a feared moderator with an unconventional team. Watch out in particular for Buzzy B. the Crobat, with super effective STAB on three quarters of his possible opponents and a blazing speed stat. On the right, we have Sivanandi, a relative newcomer to this game but certainly one not to be underestimated. Here we should be looking out for Altena the Garchomp, who can run right through any opponent without Ice-type coverage through sheer power and bulk. Now to flip a coin to see who sends out first. Heads means the left side, tails the right!
Sending in Bibarel with Rocky Helmet. Let's give this tournament everything we've got! "...There's a tournament? When?" Stealth Rock > Super Fang > Headbutt
1. IF under P/E a2 OR a3 THEN Swords Dance, pushing back.
2. IF damaging Fighting-Type combination THEN Protect, pushing back actions AND sub #1.
3. IF Red Card's phasing effect has been activated THEN Giga Impact a3.
Beavis starts us off by scattering rocks on his opponent's side of the field, preparing for the long haul. Harken rushes at his foe, dealing immense damage but hurting himself on that helmet. In retaliation, Beavis takes a large bite out of the arthropod. Harken rushes at his foe, dealing immense damage but hurting himself on that helmet. Beavis whacks his foe with his head, hoping it'll make the latter at least pause for a moment. Harken rushes at his foe, dealing immense damage but hurting himself on that helmet. When the round ends, Sivanandi has the HP lead for now at least, though nightblitz's battler seems to have become more serious about this than he already was.

Harken takes the initiative, stunning the serious beaver with an attack he has never seen before! Beavis tucks in his head to ram his foe, though it was too late to avoid any of the damage he had just taken. Learning from his mistake, Beavis prepares himself to weather Harken's next attack, but the latter manages to add a critical boost of power to his move and completely ignores Beavis' preparation! The beaver lies defeated on the ground, as his trainer looks on in shock. Oof.

Beavis is replaced by Buzzy B., who takes one look at his opponent and sets up a protective barrier. Just in time, too, as Harken runs smack into the force field with an impressively watery attack. Seeing his disoriented opponent, Buzzy B. uses a small part of the gem he holds to power up his attack to obscene levels, taking out over a quarter of Harken's maximum health in one hit! The score seems to have been evened since last round, let's see how Sivanandi responds.

Altena takes the field, holding a weird target that sends Buzzy B. down, perched on the ground. This leaves the latter completely unable to avoid a devastating earthquake! Thinking quickly, Buzzy B. summons forth Altena's inner demons, a strategy which pays off when she seems to forget how to shake the ground again. Buzzy B. then uses an evil hypnotic suggestion to get Altena to take a nap in the middle of the battle, so she won't even notice as he prepares to switch for someone more able to fight her!

Cobalt replaces the fleeing bat, not even bothering to hide his identity. He uses the power of the night to tickle the sleeping dragon, waking Altena up early! She seems to disoriented to make use of the extra attack she was just granted, though. Cobalt seizes the initiative to deliver another blow, with Altena again not being able to focus enough to respond. On Cobalt's third attack she finally wises up, shaking the ground to leave the fox slowed down a bit. That was not a good round for Sivanandi, let's see where he takes it from here!

Buzzy B. is back on the field, to wield his type advantage over the Fighting-type Catherine. The latter starts us off with a quick poke, startling her flying opponent! Buzzy B. is too well composed to pause in the attack though, and with the aid of the barb that just latched itself to his skin, he dives at Catherine with a powerful, recoil-inducing attack. In fact, it worked so well that he did it again the next action! Catherine retaliates with a very strong electrically charged punch, which almost manages to knock out her foe. Buzzy B. is finally felled from his last attack, though he did manage to drain almost all of Catherine's health in doing so.

Irot replaces the fallen bat, opting not to summon the weirdness he is able to bring to a battlefield. Catherine senses that her opponent is going to try to strike quickly, guarding herself against it! Weirdly, Irot's attack doesn't work at all. Catherine launches a barrage of blows that do more damage than they should, and Irot retaliates by letting lose a terrifying roar that terrifies Catherine so much she doesn't want to be in battle anymore. Can Indeedee do that? I'm pretty sure Indeedee can't do that. After a second action that was identical to the first, Cobalt finally casts of his disguise! Altena is up again, so let's see how she fares against the sneaky fox this time.
