(evidence of tiebreaker). Now, let’s introduce the next threat!
:ss/Grimmsnarl:
Grimmsnarl (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 132 SpD / 124 Spe
Careful Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Taunt
- Spirit Break

Following the recent discussion around screens, I thought it would be a good idea to have this next threat be Grimmsnarl. The best screens for the archetype, grimmsnarl is able to efficiently get screens up thanks to prankster and taunt while still being able to offensively pressure opponents. A cornerstone of screens, how will you lure this threat? Submissions are due Saturday May 22 at 11:59 PM PST

:ss/Obstagoon:

Obstagoon @ Leftovers
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Body Slam
- Knock Off
- Brick Break
- Taunt

Knock Off their Light Clay then Taunt then Brick Break then get +2 bc of Defiant and Spirit Break. Profit

:ss/zygarde-10%:
Missile (Zygarde-10%) @ Life Orb
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Coil
- Thousand Arrows
- Outrage
- Iron Tail
(Props to you if you get the reference.)
This good boy can set up a Coil on Grimm’s switchin and proceed to obliterate with Iron Tail. Hell, you could even hard stay on it and setup, as not many players will be expecting either Coil or Zydog staying in.

0 Atk Grimmsnarl Spirit Break vs. +1 0 HP / 0 Def Zygarde-10%: 168-200 (67.4 - 80.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252 Atk Life Orb Zygarde-10% Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Grimmsnarl: 502-593 (127.4 - 150.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

@ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Curse
- Mean Look
- Rest
- Payback

Umbreon is usually a direct switch in for grimmsnarl, but umbreon can mean look it on the switch and start spamming curse while grimmsnarl is just stuck being unable to do anything while being drained. mean look on grimmsnarl even while it is in has such a small chance to 3hko that it can start setting up curses in front of it and just beating it 1v1.

0 Atk Grimmsnarl Spirit Break vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 128-152 (32.4 - 38.5%) -- 3.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Grimmsnarl Spirit Break vs. +1 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 86-104 (21.8 - 26.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Thundurus (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Knock Off
- Brick Break
- Taunt

Thundurus lures Grimmsnarl in thinking it is a special attacker, then Brick Break removes the screens, then Spirit Break gives Thundurus +2 Attack with Defiant, and guarantees the KO with Wild Charge.

252 Atk Thundurus Brick Break vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Grimmsnarl through Reflect: 53-63 (13.4 - 15.9%) -- possible 7HKO
+2 252 Atk Thundurus Wild Charge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Grimmsnarl: 382-451 (96.9 - 114.4%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
0 Atk Grimmsnarl Spirit Break vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus: 127-150 (42.3 - 50%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO

Sorry for the delay, its time to vote! Down below are the submissions for this week
Iron Tail Zydog by iceblazer
Trapper Umbreon by HydreigonTheChild
Brick Break Thundurus by UrAverageHuman

:Obstagoon: by Lolito- I personally don't think obstagoon lures grimmsnarl. Grimm doesn't want to switch in on it since its outspeed and knocked off while facade does a fuck ton of damage to it even through reflect, while goons bulk lets it eat a spirit break. I don't think its enough to be a lure, sorry.

Voting ends May 24 at 11:59 PM PST. My vote is for brick break thundurus

Voting has concluded! Congrats to UrAverageHuman for winning the week, your submission will be added to the Hall of Fame. Kinda fitting that as this week came to a close light clay got banned, severely nerfing Grimmsnarl, which may lead to its downfall to a lower tier. Anyway, last week was kinda slow, so hopefully more participation arises from this week. Now, lets check out the threat you have to lure!
:ss/Buzzwole:
Buzzwole @ Life Orb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 20 HP / 252 Atk / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Roost

This week we have buzzwole! One of the newer faces in UU (even though its been nearly two months) buzzwole has emerged as a strong option for teams needing a sturdy physical wall or powerful breaker. With a vast variety of coverage and good natural bulk even with offensive sets, buzzwole is something to not be taken lightly. How will you lure this threat? Submissions are due May 29 at 11:59 PM PST

Reserving Bulu!

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Close Combat
- Dazzling Gleam

Buzzwole doesn't take two Dazzling Gleams from Bulu, and is outsped thanks to Choice Scarf. Easy KO gg ez

Bandkrook?!
:ss/krookodile:
Krookodile @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Darkest Lariat
- Aerial Ace

The Bankrook is in general a very scary wallbreaker, but buzzwole is always happy with always switching into the krook asssuming that they are either rocks or scarf. You can absolutely blow away the ugly bug with such a powerful banded aerial ace, and while they can survive the inicial aerial ace, just 1 round of rocks and LO chip means they are basically dead.

CALCS
252 Atk Choice Band Krookodile Aerial Ace vs. 20 HP / 0 Def Buzzwole: 276-328 (76.6 - 91.1%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Zygarde-10% @ Life Orb
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed

Draco Meteor them. you don't really 2hko unless it has some chip and its at 90% already and you go DMeteor into Outrage, but it still forces them to Roost so you can get a free switch-in into something. I'll post calcs later

:gs/scizor:
Scizor @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Dual Wingbeat

DUAL WINGBEAT GO BRRRRRRRRR

252+ Atk Technician Scizor Dual Wingbeat (2 hits) vs. 20 HP / 0 Def Buzzwole: 440-520 (122.2 - 144.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:ss/Cobalion:
Cobalion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Volt Switch
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast

Saw this being showcased in a UUFPL game and gave me a good idea of something to lure buzzwole with. Anyway, cobalion cant go anything to buzz other than volt switch on it, which can be take advantage of by a ground type or a teammate that has a strong matchup against the rest of my team. However, CM turns cobalion into a solid wincon, being able to boost up and KO lots of Pokemon due to its unpredictability factor. A perfect lure for buzzwole if I say so myself.
252 SpA Cobalion Air Slash vs. 20 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 424-500 (117.7 - 138.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:ss/Zarude:
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Power Whip
- Darkest Lariat
- Acrobatics
- U-turn

252+ Atk Zarude Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 20 HP / 0 Def Buzzwole: 376-444 (104.4 - 123.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Zarude cannot switch into buzzwole but it absolutely lures it in as buzzwole is one of the best counters to it and will be willing to come in every single time on it and OHKO it with itemless acrobatics

Mygrein

Banned deucer.
:ss/rhyperior:
Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 216 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpD / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast

yessir, some of these are kinda based on buzzy wuzzy switcihng in and this one is too. theres really no reason for that buzzwole to not hard in vs rhyperior every time since it can roost any damage away or get a free in on rocks so knowing this we add fire blast to punish them.
0- SpA Rhyperior Fire Blast vs. 20 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 146-174 (40.5 - 48.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0- SpA Rhyperior Fire Blast vs. 120 HP / 0 SpD Scizor: 212-252 (68.1 - 81%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Obviously not a 1hko or even 2hko but you are not letting a buzzy wuzzy in for free as they have to either commit to roosting on a switch to get better mu vs it or attack fail to ohko a 100% rhyperior then die to fire blast + the 10% life orb chip
