Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Haze / Knock Off
- Toxic
- Recover

Phenomenal bulk in conjunction with Regenerator and Flip Turn makes Toxapex one of the most frustrating Pokemon to take down in STABmons, as it is able to prevent itself from being overly passive and generate momentum for its teammates. Haze is necessary to effectively stop physical attackers such as No Retreat Galarian Zapdos and Dragonite from setting up, although Toxapex has to be cautious of losing too much HP in the process. Knock Off removes items such as Rocky Helmet and Heavy-Duty Boots; this is especially helpful against Corviknight, as it prevents Toxapex from constantly getting worn down when pivoting with Flip Turn. Toxic allows Toxapex to directly cripple Seismitoad, which can otherwise stop it from using Flip Turn to gain momentum. Offensive partners such as Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Galarian Zapdos can capitalize on a slow Flip Turn and force opposing teams into difficult positions. Corviknight and Garchomp are both fantastic defensive options that can alleviate some of Toxapex’s passivity issues by checking Tapu Bulu and Heatran, respectively.

Phenomenal bulk in conjunction with Regenerator and Flip Turn makes Toxapex one of the most frustrating Pokemon to take down in the metagame - being able to prevent itself from being entirely passive and generate momentum for its teammates. Haze is necessary to effectively stop physical attackers such as No Retreat Galarian Zapdos and Dragonite from setting up, though it has to be cautious to not lose too much HP in the process. Knock Off removes items such as Rocky Helmet and Heavy Duty Boots, this is especially helpful for the former item as it prevents Corviknight from constantly wearing it down by pivoting with Flip Turn. (Mention how Toxic allows Toxapex to threaten Seismitoad, which is otherwise able to stop it from using Flip Turn to gain momentum) Offensive partners such as Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Galarian Zapdos can capitalise on a slow Flip Turn and force opposing teams into difficult positions. Corviknight and Garchomp are both fantastic defensive options that can alleviate some of Toxapex’s passivity issues by checking Tapu Bulu and Heatran respectively.
Looks really good, only have one note. QC 1/1
