Moves
========
Mudsdale is particularly good at setting Stealth Rock, the best entry hazard, due to its high bulk alongside Stamina. Earthquake serves as Mudsdale's main attacking move, allowing Mudsdale to offensively pressure many top-tier threats such as Skuntank, Togedemaru, and Regirock. Toxic whittles foes down, which is especially useful against bulkier or Ground-immune Pokemon such as Tangela and Mesprit. Rock Slide hits Ground-resistant Pokemon like Scyther, Oricorio-G, Haunter, and Pinsir. Protect allows Toxic damage to stack, provides a turn of Leftovers recovery, wastes weather and Trick Room turns, and scouts moves of Choice item users such as Mesprit and Aurorus. Roar forces the foe out, which helps wear down the opposing team when combined with hazards. It can also be used to remove stat boosts from setup Pokemon like Gurdurr and Type: Null as well as force out standard switch-ins like Weezing and Haunter.

Set Details
========
252 HP and 156 Special Defense EVs allow Mudsdale to barely avoid being OHKOed by +2 Alolan Raichu's All-Out Pummeling with Stealth Rock damage. It also lets Mudsdale avoid a 2HKO from Eelektross's Giga Drain, an OHKO from Choice Specs Froslass's Ice Beam, and an OHKO from Assault Vest Lanturn's Hydro Pump while giving it an even better matchup against foes like special Skuntank and special Combusken. 56 EVs in Attack alongside an Adamant nature let Mudsdale 2HKO Kangaskhan and Clefairy while having a good chance to 3HKO RestTalk Spiritomb. The remaining 44 EVs are put into Defense so Mudsdale can better take physical attacks from Pokemon like Aggron and Primeape. Stamina furthers this by boosting Mudsdale's Defense every time it takes a hit. Figy Berry gives Mudsdale a single-use form of recovery that can restore a substantial amount of health after Mudsdale gets worn down or potentially allow Mudsdale to avoid a 2HKO. Leftovers serves as a more residual form of recovery, making Mudsdale harder to wear down over time. Rocky Helmet supplies another form of residual damage on top of Stealth Rock and Toxic that can chip physical attackers like Kangaskhan and is especially useful for U-turn users like Scyther and Primeape. Yache Berry means Mudsdale can lure Ice-types like Aurorus and gives Mudsdale a better matchup against foes with Ice-type coverage such as Ice Punch Hitmonchan. However, you should note that both Rocky Helmet and Yache Berry leave Mudsdale with no form of recovery.

Usage Tips
========
Mudsdale should be used throughout the game to switch into physical or resisted attacks from Pokemon like Scyther, Skuntank, and Aggron. However, it has to watch out for coverage moves such as Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, status-inflicting moves like Togedemaru's Toxic, and other utility moves such as Gurdurr's Knock Off. Mudsdale can switch into moves such as Kangaskhan's Fake Out and Hitmonchan's Rapid Spin to receive a relatively free Defense boost from Stamina and supply chip damage if running Rocky Helmet. It can also absorb Volt Switch from Pokemon such as Manectric, stopping them from switching, but still has to watch out for coverage and utility moves. Stay wary of how easily Mudsdale can be worn down if constantly switching in to take hits, especially if layers of Spikes or Toxic Spikes are on the field. When brought in against Pokemon that are threatened by it, Mudsdale will often force a switch. You can use this as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, allowing it to start chipping the opposing team. If Stealth Rock is already up, you can use Toxic on predicted switch-ins like Tangela and Eelektross, double switch to an ideal matchup to gain momentum, or use Roar for chip damage. However, it is notable that while Roar may put you in an ideal matchup, it can also favor the opponent by bringing in a threat to Mudsdale such as Lilligant or Poliwrath instead. While Rock Slide may usually be your best option against Flying-types such as Oricorio-G and Swanna, they will often use Roost if at low health, losing their Rock weakness in the process. They also lose their Ground immunity, however, which you can use to create mind games or even potentially KO them with Earthquake. Protect can be used throughout the match to get Leftovers recovery, wear foes down with Toxic, waste turns of weather and Trick Room, and scout Choice item users such as Alolan Exeggutor, but the opponent can use predictable Protect as a free switch. Setup sweepers like Omastar and Alolan Sandslash can also use Protect or a predicted switch as a chance to set up, so an option is to instead use Roar or go for the KO, although at the risk of them instead simply attacking.

Team Options
========
Bulky Water-types such as Lanturn and Poliwrath can help against Ice- and Water-types like Aurorus and Floatzel, with Lanturn also supporting Mudsdale with Heal Bell and providing momentum with Volt Switch. In return, Mudsdale can absorb Electric attacks for Poliwrath. Flying-types like Oricorio-G and Scyther also appreciate Mudsdale's immunity to Electric attacks as well as its resistance to Rock-types like Aggron while offering a resistance to Grass in return. Oricorio-G can also break through Mudsdale checks like Weezing with its Calm Mind set, while its Choice Scarf set can serve as a Defogger and, as well as Scyther, as a pivot with U-turn. Grass-types such as Lilligant, Alolan Exeggutor, and Bellossom can help with Water- and Grass-types like Carracosta and Tangela, while Mudsdale can check Poison- and Steel-types like Skuntank and Togedemaru. With Weezing being another large problem for Mudsdale, Psychic-types such as offensive Mesprit can come in handy. Mesprit can also provide speed control and U-turn support with its Choice Scarf set or break down foes like Altaria with its Choice Specs set, and both sets can support Mudsdale with Healing Wish to somewhat make up for its lack of recovery and appreciate its Stealth Rock. Wish passers like Audino can also supply Mudsdale with a source of recovery, although it is not necessary for Mudsdale to function. Mudsdale works well on entry hazard stacking teams due to its combination of Stealth Rock and Roar, making Spikes setters such as Qwilfish and Froslass good teammates. Froslass also spinblocks, and both Qwilfish and Froslass run Taunt, can stop Defoggers like Altaria, pressure other Taunt users like Weezing and Grass-types like Bellossom, and can carry various other utility options such as Toxic Spikes and Will-O-Wisp. In return, Mudsdale can serve as a check to some of their threats like special Skuntank and Aggron. Furthermore, setup sweepers like Omastar and Jynx and wallbreakers such as Aggron and Aurorus appreciate that these hazards, or just Mudsdale's Stealth Rock, can weaken foes to KO range. Due to how often Mudsdale switches in throughout the match, hazard removers like Altaria and Hitmonchan are vital. Altaria can also check Water- and Grass-types while appreciating Mudsdale's resistance to Rock, and Hitmonchan can also check certain special attackers like Aurorus and Omastar. Other specially defensive Pokemon like Assault Vest Crabominable can also help with these special attackers and benefit from Mudsdale's good matchup against physical threats like Scyther and Primeape, forming a solid defensive core.

  • Stealth Rock deals chip damage to all foes that switch in, limiting their switching capabilities. (minor, but explain why mudsdale is a good user of stealth rock.)
  • Earthquake serves as Mudsdale's main attacking move, being its strongest STAB option. It also supplies super effective coverage for various types, allowing Mudadale to offensively pressure many top tier threats such as Skuntank, Togedemaru, and Regirock. It also pairs well with Toxic due to hitting its immunities in Poison- and Steel-types.
  • Toxic whittles down the foe, which is especially useful against bulky foes and Ground checks such as Tangela and Mesprit.
  • Rock Slide hits Flying-types like Scyther and Swanna, who are immune to Earthquake, and Bug-types like Pinsir, who resist it. (add oricorio-g to the list of flying-types, it can beat you w taunt otherwise.)
  • Protect allows Toxic damage to stack, provides a turn of Leftovers recovery, waste weather and Trick Room turns, and scouts moves of Choice item users such as Mesprit and Aurorus.
  • Roar forces the foe out while bringing a random one in, which helps wear down the opposing team when combined with hazards. It can also be used to remove any stat boosts on setup Pokemon like Gurdurr and Type: Null.
Set Details

  • 252 HP and 156 Special Defense EVs is run to allow to Mudsdale to barely avoid being OHKOed by +2 Alolan Raichu's Z-Focus Blast with Stealth Rock Damage. It also lets Mudsdale avoid the 2HKO from Eelektross' Giga Drain and OHKO from Choice Specs Froslass' Ice Beam, while giving it an even better matchup against foes like special Skuntank and Combusken.
  • 56 EVs in Attack alongside an Adamant nature allows Mudsdale 2HKO Kangaskhan and Clefairy while having a good chance to 3HKO Restalk Spiritomb.
  • The remaining 44 EVs are put into Defense so Mudsdale can better take physical attacks from Pokemon like Aggron and Primeape.
  • Stamina furthers this, boosting Mudsdale's Defense every time it takes a hit. (merge these three points about the evs together bc they're all related.
  • Figy Berry gives Mudsdale a single-usage form of recovery, which can restore a good amount of health after being work (worn) down or potentially allow it to avoid a 2HKO in certain situations.
  • Leftovers serves as a more residual form of recovery, making Mudsdale harder to wear down. 240 HP EVs can be run alongside Leftovers for maximum recovery, investing the EVs taken from HP in Special Defense.
  • Rocky Helmet and Yache Berry are also options for its item, although at the cost of leaving Mudsdale with no form of recovery. Rocky Helmet supplies another form of residual damage, being able to chip physical attackers like Kangaskhan, and is especially useful for U-turn users like Scyther and Primeape. (make rocky helmet its own point and then make yache berry its own point, and then put the bit about how these both leave mudsdale without recovery at the end of the yache point, it flows better.)
  • Yache Berry can lure Ice-types like Aurorus, allowing Mudsdale to take a hit and KO in return. It also gives Mudsdale a better matchup against foes with Ice-type coverage such as Ice Punch Hitmonchan and Ice Beam Mesprit.
Usage Tips
========
  • Mudsdale should be used throughout the game to switch into physical or resisted attacks from Pokemon like Scyther, Skuntank, and Aggron.
  • However, it has to watch out for coverage such as Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, status inflicting moves like Togedemaru's Toxic, and other utility such as Gurdurr's Knock Off. (merge this with the above point.)

  • Mudsdale can also switch into moves such as Kangaskhan's Fake Out and Hitmonchan's Rapid Spin and abuse their low power for a relatively free Defense boost from Stamina. (move this point above the previous one.)
  • Although stay wary of how easily Mudsdale can be worn down if constantly switching in to take hits, especially if hazards are on the field.
  • When brought in, Mudsdale will often force a switch, and can use this as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, allowing it to start chipping the opposing team as soon as possible. If Stealth Rock is already up, you can Toxic predicted switchins like Tangela and Eelektross, double switch into an ideal matchup to gain momentum, or use Roar for chip damage. However, it is notable that while Roar may put you an an ideal matchup, it can also instead favor the opponent. (while i do understand what you mean, perhaps add smth like '...by bringing in a threat to Mudsdale, such as Kingler or Lilligant.' to make it sound slightly less vague.)
  • While Rock Slide may usually be your best option against Flying-types such as Oricorio-Sensu and Swanna, they will often Roost if at low health, losing their Rock weakness in the process. Although they also lose their Ground immunity, which you can use to your advantage to create mind games or even potentially pick up the KO with Earthquake.
  • Protect can be used consistently throughout the match to get Leftovers recovery and wear foes down with Toxic, but the opponent can use this as an opportunity for a free switch. Setup Pokemon like Omastar and Alolan Sandslash can also use Protect or a predicted switch as a chance to set up, so an option is to instead use Roar or go for the KO, although at the risk of them instead simply attacking.

  • With Weezing being another large problem for Mudsdale, Psychic-types such as Mesprit can come in handy. Mesprit can also support Mudsdale with Healing Wish to somewhat make up for its lack of recovery.
  • Mudsdale works well on SpikeStack due to its combination of Stealth Rock and Roar, making Spike setters such as Qwilfish and Froslass good teammates. They also provide various other utility moves like Toxic Spikes and Will-O-Wisp, respectively. (they both carry taunt and can stop defoggers, both can pressure faster taunt users like weezing as well as grass-types, and froslass spinblocks. be sure to say smth about how mudsdale can check special skuntank for these pokemon.)
  • Furthermore, setup sweepers like Omastar and Jynx appreciate that these hazards, or just Mudsdale's Stealth Rock, can weaken foes to KO range, giving them an easier time sweeping. Similar applies for wallbreakers such as Aggron and Aurorus.
  • Due to how often Mudsdale switches in throughout the match, hazard removers like Altaria and Hitmonchan are vital. Altaria can also check Water- and Grass-types while appreciating Mudsdale's resistance to Rock-types, and Hitmonchan can also check certain special attackers like Aurorus and Omastar.
  • Other specially defensive Pokemon like Crabominable (specifically assault vest.) and Eelektross can also help with these special attackers, and benefit from Mudsdale's high Defense.
yeet/3, soz for the nitpicking, a lot of what i brought up is relatively minor.

  • Stealth Rock deals chip damage to all foes that switch in, limiting their switching capabilities. (and can set multiple times thanks to stamina + good bulk)
  • Earthquake serves as Mudsdale's main attacking move, being its strongest STAB option. (nitpick but like, it loses to quite a few of the steel-types in the tier. bronzor, +2 alolan sandslash, magnet rise probo. i'd just say aggron or not mention it to be honest) (to be fair poison-types are a similar case. 2/4 of them are levitate users)
  • Toxic whittles down the foe, which is especially useful against bulky foes and Ground checks such as Tangela and Mesprit. (ground immunities should be specified here)
  • Rock Slide hits Flying-types like Scyther and Oricorio-Sensu :blobglare: (oricorio-g), who are immune to Earthquake, and Bug-types like Pinsir, who resist it. (lets it hitting weezing and haunter too)

The remaining 44 EVs are put into Defense so Mudsdale can better take physical attacks from Pokemon like Aggron and Primeape.

(eh. eel is a bad mention you really just lose to it. even lanturn would probably be better because you can actually beat that)
  • Although stay wary of how easily Mudsdale can be worn down if constantly switching in to take hits, especially if hazards are on the field. (namely spikes and toxic spikes, stealth rock isn't actually doing that much)
  • When brought in, Mudsdale will often force a switch, and can use this as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, allowing it to start chipping the opposing team as soon as possible (super super vague. how does it force switches? against what? not saying it's wrong but this should definitely be expanded). Mudsdale can absorb Electric attacks from Pokemon like Manectric for Poliwrath. (wrath doesn't do well vs froslass at all. you'd be better off mentioning aurorus to be honest. or alolan sandslash. life orb froslass does loads with shadow ball)
  • Flying-types like Oricorio-Sensu :blobstop: and Scyther also appreciate Mudsdale's immunity to Electric attacks, as well as its resistance to Rock-types like Aggron, while offering a resistance to Grass-types. (scyther can provide momentum to pivot into it. oricorio-g can be used as a scarfer with defog. can also break weezing which uses it as set up bait)
  • Grass-types such as Lilligant, Alolan Exeggutor, and Bellossom also make good teammates, as can they help with Water- and Grass-types like Carracosta and Tanegla (tangela), while Mudsdale can check Poison- and Steel-types like Skuntank and and Togedemaru.
  • With Weezing being another large problem for Mudsdale, Psychic-types such as Mesprit can come in handy. Mesprit can also support Mudsdale with Healing Wish to somewhat make up for its lack of recovery. (specify offensive mesprit variants and expand slightly)
  • Mudsdale works well on SpikeStack due to its combination of Stealth Rock and Roar, making Spike setters such as Qwilfish and Froslass good teammates. Both also run Taunt and can stop Defoggers like Altaria, pressure other Taunt users like Weezing and Grass-types like Bellossom, can carry various other utility options such as Toxic Spikes and Will-O-Wisp, and Froslass can spinblock. In return, Mudsdale can serve as a check for some of their threats like special Skuntank. (and aggron!!)
  • Furthermore, setup sweepers like Omastar and Jynx appreciate that these hazards, or just Mudsdale's Stealth Rock, can weaken foes to KO range, giving them an easier time sweeping. Mudsdale should be used throughout the game to switch into physical or resisted attacks from Pokemon like Scyther, Skuntank, and Aggron. It can also absorb Volt Switch from Pokemon such as Lanturn and Manectric, stopping them from switching, but still has to watch out their for coverage and utility moves yeah idk about suggesting u switch into lanturn's volt :s. Although stay wary of how easily Mudsdale can be worn down if constantly switching in to take hits, especially if Spikes or Toxic Spikes are on the field. When brought in against these previously mentioned Pokemon, Mudsdale will often force a switch due to the opponent's non-ideal matchup. You can use this as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, allowing it to start chipping the opposing team as soon as possible. Grass-types such as Lilligant, Alolan Exeggutor, and Bellossom also make good teammates, as can they help with Water- and Grass-types like Carracosta and Tangela, while Mudsdale can check Poison- and Steel-types like Skuntank and Togedemaru. With Weezing being another large problem for Mudsdale, Psychic-types such as offensive Mesprit can come in handy. Mesprit can also provide Speed control and U-turn with its Choice Scarf set or break down foes like Altaria with its Choice Specs set, while both sets can support Mudsdale with Healing Wish to somewhat make up for its lack of recovery and appreciate its Stealth Rock. Mudsdale works well on SpikeStack due to its combination of Stealth Rock and Roar, making Spikes setters such as Qwilfish and Froslass good teammates. Both also run Taunt and can stop Defoggers like Altaria, pressure other Taunt users like Weezing and Grass-types like Bellossom, can carry various other utility options such as Toxic Spikes and Will-O-Wisp, and Froslass can spinblock. In return, Mudsdale can serve as a check for some of their threats like special Skuntank and Aggron. Furthermore, setup sweepers like Omastar and Jynx appreciate that these hazards, or just Mudsdale's Stealth Rock, can weaken foes to KO range, giving them an easier time sweeping. Wallbreakers such as Aggron and Aurorus similarly appreciate the hazards, as they give them an easier time breaking down bulky foes. Due to how often Mudsdale switches in throughout the match, hazard removers like Altaria and Hitmonchan are vital. Altaria can also check Water- and Grass-types while appreciating Mudsdale's resistance to Rock-types, and Hitmonchan can also check certain special attackers like Aurorus and Omastar. Other specially defensive Pokemon like Assault Vest Crabominable can also help with these special attackers, and benefit from Mudsdale's good matchup against physical threats like Scyther and Primeape, forming a solid defensive core. i suppose wish pass is worth mentioning alongside healing wish, altho id clarify it's by no means necessary and a lack of recovery doesnt stop it from functioning

Stealth Rock deals chip damage to all foes that switch in, limiting their switching capabilities. Mudsdale is particularly good at setting them Stealth Rock due to its high bulk alongside Stamina,(AC) dealing chip damage to all foes that switch in and limiting their switching capabilities. Earthquake serves as Mudsdale's main attacking move, Earthquake,(AC) is being its strongest STAB option.,(AC) It also supplies super effective coverage for various types, allowing Mudsdale to offensively pressure many top-tier(AH) threats such as Skuntank, Togedemaru, and Regirock. Toxic whittles down the foe, which is especially useful against bulky foes bulkier Pokemon and Ground immunities such as Tangela and Mesprit. Rock Slide hits Flying-types like Scyther and Oricorio-G and Levitate users like Haunter, who are immune to Earthquake, as well as Bug-types like Pinsir, who resist it. Protect allows Toxic damage to stack, provides a turn of Leftovers recovery, wastes weather and Trick Room turns, and scouts moves of Choice item users such as Mesprit and Aurorus. Roar forces the foe out while bringing a random one in, which helps wear down the opposing team when combined with hazards. It can also be used to remove any stat boosts on setup Pokemon like Gurdurr and Type: Null, as well as phase standard phazing switch-ins(AH) like Weezing and Haunter.

252 HP and 156 Special Defense EVs is are run to allow to Mudsdale to barely avoid being OHKOed by +2 Alolan Raichu's Z-Focus Blast with Stealth Rock damage. It also lets Mudsdale avoid the 2HKO from Eelektross' Giga Drain and OHKO from Choice Specs Froslass' Ice Beam,(RC) while giving it an even better matchup against foes like special Skuntank and special Combusken. 56 EVs in Attack alongside an Adamant nature lets Mudsdale 2HKO Kangaskhan and Clefairy while having a good chance to 3HKO Restalk Spiritomb. The remaining 44 EVs are put into Defense so Mudsdale can better take physical attacks from Pokemon like Aggron and Primeape. Stamina furthers this, boosting Mudsdale's Defense every time it takes a hit, giving it an even better matchup against said physical attackers. Figy Berry gives Mudsdale a single-usage form of recovery, which can restore a good substancial amount of health after being worn down or potentially allow it to avoid a 2HKO in certain situations. Leftovers serves as a more residual form of recovery, making Mudsdale harder to wear down over time. 240 HP EVs can be run alongside Leftovers for maximum recovery, investing the EVs taken from HP in Special Defense. Rocky Helmet supplies another form of residual damage on top of Stealth Rock and Toxic, being able to chip physical attackers like Kangaskhan, and is especially useful for U-turn users like Scyther and Primeape. Yache Berry can lure Ice-types like Aurorus, allowing Mudsdale to take a hit and KO in return. It also gives Mudsdale a better matchup against foes with Ice-type coverage such as Ice Punch Hitmonchan. It is notable that both Rocky Helmet and Yache Berry leave Mudsdale with no form of recovery.

Usage Tips
========

Mudsdale should be used throughout the game to switch into physical or resisted attacks from Pokemon like Scyther, Skuntank, and Aggron. However, it has to watch out for coverage moves (adding the word moves creates parallelism)such as Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, status inflicting moves like Togedemaru's Toxic, and other utility moves such as Gurdurr's Knock Off. Mudsdale can switch into moves such as Kangaskhan's Fake Out and Hitmonchan's Rapid Spin and abuse their low power for a relatively free Defense boost from Stamina and supply chip damage if running Rocky Helmet. It can also absorb Volt Switch from Pokemon such as Manectric, stopping them from switching, but still has to watch out for coverage and utility moves. Although stay Stay (Although makes no sense here) wary of how easily Mudsdale can be worn down if constantly switching in to take hits, especially if Spikes or Toxic Spikes are on the field. When brought in against these previously mentioned Pokemon(but you didn't just previously mention them. I would suggest relisting these Pokemon again), Mudsdale will often force a switch due to the opponent's non-ideal matchup. You can use this as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, allowing it to start chipping the opposing team as soon as possible. If Stealth Rock is already up, you can Toxic predicted switch-ins(AH) like Tangela and Eelektross, double switch into an ideal matchup to gain momentum, or use Roar for chip damage. However, it is notable that while Roar may put you an an ideal matchup, it can also instead favor the opponent by bringing in a threat to Mudsdale such as Lilligant or Poliwrath instead. While Rock Slide may usually be your best option against Flying-types such as Oricorio-G and Swanna, they will often Roost if at low health, losing their Rock weakness in the process. Although they also lose their Ground immunity, which you can use to your advantage to create mind games or even potentially pick up the KO with Earthquake. Protect can be used throughout the match to get Leftovers recovery, wear foes down with Toxic, waste turns of weather and Trick Room, and scout Choice item users such as Alolan Exeggutor, but the opponent can use this as an opportunity for a free switch. Setup sweepers like Omastar and Alolan Sandslash can also use Protect or a predicted switch as a chance to set up, so an option is to instead use Roar or go for the KO, although at the risk of them instead simply attacking.
