Substitute significantly eases prediction with Mega Mawile, protects it from Clefable's and Chansey's Thunder Wave, and enables it to run Focus Punch to deal with Steel-types such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, and Magnezone without any drawbacks. Thunder Punch is run to deal with Toxapex and Celesteela. Ice Punch is really important to hit Ground- and Grass-types such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, Tangrowth, and Tapu Bulu.

Set Details
========

144 HP EVs prevent Mega Mawile's Substitute from being KOed by Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball after Intimidate. 112 Speed EVs are run to outspeed Celesteela. Outspeeding Skarmory is not important because Mega Mawile can simply use Focus Punch to force it into using Roost. Intimidate is preferred over Hyper Cutter so that Mega Mawile has a better chance at taking a hit from physical attackers such as Mega Gyarados and Hawlucha.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Mawile is best used to smash through classic defensive cores such as Gliscor + Ferrothorn and Toxapex + Celesteela. You should switch Mega Mawile in on predicted switches from Pokemon like Weavile, Tapu Bulu, and Tornadus-T, which it can easily pressure out. From there, Mega Mawile can often afford to set up a Substitute for safety. There's often not much need to predict offensively with Mega Mawile, as using Substitute on a switch gives it a lot of freedom to attack what's in front of it. You should be wary of chip damage, however, because between damage from entry hazards, Rocky Helmet, and setting up a Substitute, Mega Mawile can be worn down quite quickly.

Team Options
========

Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Clefable, and Tapu Lele really appreciate Mega Mawile's ability to beat Heatran. Clefable especially makes for a great teammate, as it can support Mega Mawile with Wish, and its Calm Mind sets become much more threatening with Heatran out of the way. Despite Mega Mawile's ability to beat Heatran with a Substitute up, it's still important to pack checks like Garchomp, Gastrodon, and Rotom-W for it because it is still able to pressure Mega Mawile through aggressive switches. Mega Mawile benefits greatly from Spikes setters such as Ash-Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Greninja, as it can force many switches. Tapu Bulu and Mega Mawile also synergize well together; Tapu Bulu is able to set Grassy Terrain for Mega Mawile, granting it passive recovery while weakening Earthquake, while Mega Mawile can take advantage of Tornadus-T. U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Tornadus-T, Rotom-W, and Tapu Koko can generate momentum, which Mega Mawile can use to switch into play.

I think there's probably better examples than Clefable + Ferrothorn that you could put here considering Clefable can force you to fish against it to even break through it, and if they're already statused then it's not great for Mawile. Maybe Gliscor + Ferrothorn would fit better.

* There's very little need to predict offensively with Mega Mawile, as using Substitute on a switch gives it a lot of freedom to throw off an attack.
I think "very little need" might be too strong wording; if you're confident something's coming out that you can OHKO with Ice Punch or Thunder Punch or whatever then you might as well just kill it outright rather than chipping yourself by setting up a Sub, especially if it's a matchup where you need the HP. I know you acknowledge avoiding too much chip in the next sentence, but I think the wording is still too harsh.

In Team Options, I'd mention Bulu since Grassy Terrain weakening Earthquake and giving passive recovery is super nice, plus they have a bit of defensive synergy together (Mawile can take advantage of Torn coming in on Bulu, and Bulu can switch in on Ash-Gren trying to revenge Mawile, thought this might not be worth mentioning).
I'd also mention that since the set gives up a lot of its ability to stallbreak since it has to fish to break through Sab and Clef, and it can struggle with Quagsire a bit more, you should try pack other ways to deal with stall.

Good stuff as always, 1/3 :]

Substitute significantly eases prediction with Mega Mawile
You could mention that it protects from status such as twave from clefable and chansey.

Focus Punch to deal with Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn without any drawbacks
I'd add Magnezone, which otherwise walls this set and is a pain for mawile most of the time.

Ice Punch is really important to hit Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Gliscor.
It also hits grass types, for example being the best option vs physdef tangrowth and being the only option vs bulu.

There's often not much need to predict offensively with Mega Mawile, as using Substitute on a switch gives it a lot of freedom to throw off an attack.
I'd change this wording from "freedom to throw off an attack" to "freedom to attack what's in front of it".

Good stuff, I was pretty nitpicky QC 2/3

honestly idt the skarm mention under tpunch is really necessary here but its w/e

probably worth mentioning Intimidate rather than just stating -1 just for clarity's sake but again its no big deal. ig you could probably mention the fact that its slower than skarm so it can't play tpunch mindgames since you can just focus and always win vs it.

Substitute significantly eases prediction with Mega Mawile, protects it from Clefable's and Chansey's Thunder Wave (it's hard to explain in the context of pokemon moves, but if only chansey had the 's it would imply that they own the same thunder wave, while an 's at the end of both implies that they possess different thunder waves, i hope that makes sense lol), and enables it to run Focus Punch to deal with Steel-types such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, and Magnezone without any drawbacks. Thunder Punch is run to deal with Toxapex and Celesteela. Ice Punch is really important to hit Ground- and Grass-types such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, Tangrowth, and Tapu Bulu.

(the part before the semicolon feels awkward imo because it sounds like your setting up for a "x can do this for y, and in return y can do this for x" if you catch my drift, so if there is something you can add regarding what mega mawile can give to bulu in return i would strongly suggest that, otherwise i think taking out the part before the semicolon will help with flow) U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Tornadus-T, Rotom-W, and Tapu Koko can generate momentum, which Mega Mawile can use to switch into play.
