Sinistcha @ Life Orb
Ability: Surge Surfer
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Leaf Storm
- Shadow Ball
- Strength Sap

Sinistcha surfs through the AAA tier with the power of Surge Surfer, letting it outpace fast threats like Zamazenta, Chien-Pao, and even Choice Scarf Gholdengo. This set in particular is strong due to the surprise factor it provides, as it contrasts immensely with the bulky Calm Mind set Sinistcha usually runs, threatening would-be checks like Zapdos and Chien-Pao. With Nasty Plot and strong STAB moves, it becomes a threatening sweeper that endangers common special walls like Swampert, Manaphy, and Iron Treads while also being able to pick off weakened teams thanks to its surprise factor. Strength Sap lets Sinistcha recover HP lost from Life Orb chip damage. Sinistcha requires a partner that makes use of Hadron Engine, as Surge Surfer's effect only works under Electric Terrain. Assault Vest Iron Crown is a great Hadron Engine teammate, as it can switch into Pokemon that outspeed Sinistcha like Deoxys-S, Choice Scarf Latios, and Choice Scarf Scream Tail while also being able to threaten good damage. Latios is another potential Hadron Engine partner, as it provides valuable Speed and offense and threatens Roaring Moon, which is Sinistcha's best check.

Since Surge Surfer only works with Electric Terrain, Sinistcha requires a partner that makes use of Hadron Engine, as Surge Surfer's effect only works under Electric Terrain. Latios is a great Hadron Engine partner, as it threatens Roaring Moon, which is Sinistcha's best check, whereas Sinistcha destroys checks to Latios like Swampert and Scream Tail. Assault Vest Iron Crown is another potential Hadron Engine partner, as it can switch-in to Pokemon that outspeed Sinistcha like Deoxys-S, Choice Scarf Latios, and Choice Scarf Scream Tail. Crown is probably best as the primary parter > latios here given that's what the set was run w/ in OMPL, but i'd change the emphasis here a bit; Iron Crown isn't good because it can switch into stuff, it's good because it does that while being an omega threat in its own right. I'd change the ordering here and make it something like "Iron Crown is a great partner because of... (including that blend of defensive and offensive utility) while Choice Scarf Latios trades some bulk and defensive merit for Speed and extra power, threatening... "

With the extra space here I think you can definitely afford to mention that the main thing that makes this set tick is the unexpected nature of it; point out just how much this contrasts w/ the more typical slow, bulky Calm Mind wincon sinistcha usually functions as, and how this completely flips the script on its head to threaten would-be answers like zapdos and pao at the cost of some early-to-midgame defensive utility
