You do not need to apply to the CAP PRC in order to participate in CAP events. All polls and discussion threads in this forum are open for public use; the PRC serves an entirely different function that is separate from the current CAP process.
OP adapted from Birkal

This thread is for people who want to apply to the Create-A-Pokemon Project Policy Review Committee. The PRC is in charge of discussing policy changes to the CAP Process in general, all of which take place in the CAP Policy Review subforum. If you are a badged user, you will be able to post in this forum automatically, meaning that you only need to apply in this thread if you are unbadged.

To apply, please briefly describe a) your CAP experience, b) your Smogon experience, and c) your Pokemon experience. It's helpful to describe your involvement in the CAP Project in all areas, including but not limited to: past CAP polls, PR discussions, playtesting or tournament discussions, CAP analyses, involvement in our Discord server or PS! room, CAP metagame activity, submitted material, etc. Please take the time to write your application thoroughly; if your application looks like you clearly don't care, then we can't expect that you will contribute meaningfully to the actual policy discussions.

There is not going to be a limit on the number of users the CAP moderators accept for the PRC, and we would prefer more to less. It doesn't overly matter how long you've contributed. If you believe that you have contributed positively to CAP in any way, please feel free to apply. Note that significant work within the Policy Review Committee also counts as progress towards the CAP Contributor badge. Furthermore, rejection will not disqualify you permanently; you are welcome to reapply during the next CAP process.

If your application is accepted, you will be notified and given posting privileges to the CAP Policy Review subforum. You will have the ability to create and post in threads on important CAP issues. You will also have the ability to vote on these issues and shape the future of CAP as a whole. PRC members, don't forget that you can PM any of the CAP moderators if you have any questions or concerns. We can't wait to work with all of you to make positive changes in this project!

To discuss PR-related issues in a more casual setting, feel free to join the CAP Discord and start chatting in #prc.

Howdy! I'll be completely honest, my CAP experience is rather small. I've reached top 250 (which isn't very impressive, I'm sure I could do better) and have ran a single CAP draft league... but that's about it. I first started CAP a while ago where I made a trick room team with the brand new Pokemon Hemogoblin and then basically didn't ladder at all or do anything with CAP until very recently, where I've laddered a bit and participated in the most recent CCAT with my favorite CAPmon, Kitsunoh.
In terms of Smogon experience, it's also rather small. I'll explain more in the section about Pokemon experience, but (as shown by my account age and lack of badges) I really haven't done much with the smogon tours (although I will probably be drafted for the one big National Dex Monotype tournament in November).

With my Pokemon experience, it is a LOT less limited. I've played showdown since generation 6, and ultimately got #1 on the ladder in all three of generation 6 OU, generation 7 OU, and generation 8 National Dex OU. That being said, I took a few steps back when generation 9 released as I don't really like gen 9 OU or even gen 9 nat dex OU, so I kinda just stopped playing as much. If you watch my playstyle, I still play with the same prediction style as most people in generation 6 did: take the first few turns slow, then make aggressive predictions depending on your opponent's playstyle- unless your opponent is playing stall, in which case take it very slow and play as safe as humanly possible.

Now, with this being said, you may be wondering: "why should we let someone who has just admitted that they don't like the game as much as they used to, who has very little CAP experience, and frankly probably wouldn't be a great addition to the team become a PRC?" Well, there's a few reasons. First of all, I really want to get more into CAP because, frankly, the Pokemon designs are really, really good in my opinion. Additionally, although I don't have a lot of CAP experience, I do have a ton of general Pokemon experience, which should allow me to contribute meaningfully to the conversations instead of anything along the lines of "I don't like this Pokemon so we should nerf it." Finally, my actual job in the real world quite literally has to do with data analytics, which should allow me some expertise that very few other people have.

If you have any followup questions, feel free to reach out; and if you don't accept me, that's also fine, as I know I probably am not the world's best candidate. I wish you the best of luck either way!

Hi, my name is Reviloja753, but I go by SunshineFuture in the Discord. I have decided to apply for PRC access.

I have been involved in the CAP community since the start of the seventh generation, with the first CAP I actively contributed to being Pajantom’s process. If I recall correctly, I was the one who initially suggested Heal Block as a key tool for it to use, and I was also a major advocate for it receiving Brave Bird. Since then, I have posted at some point or other for nearly every CAP process, with the only exceptions being Hemogoblin and Chuggalong’s, if I recall. Most recently, my concept for CAP35 managed to win! I’ve also been active in the CAP Discord for several processes now, even when I haven’t been posting.

As for my Smogon experience, I joined around the end of the sixth generation, and before my work in CAP, I mainly spent time in the Pet Mods section. For a time, I was the leader of Fusion Evolution, and I also initially created SylveMons. I also did a little bit of participation in the Battle-By-Post section.

My general Pokémon experience starts around the same time; I’ve been a fan of the series ever since XY, and I have played every new generation since! While I am not the best competitive player, I do know what makes a good mon versus a bad one in competitive play, and I believe that my writing skills will allow me to contribute substantially to the PRC forum.

Thanks for reading my application!
