XY OU Sweet Like Cotton Candy

So i have this dream. a dream that one day Whimsicott will rise up back to its former glory as a genuine threat in OU. Until that utopia is realized i will continue to find a place of it in my team(maybe). Please bare in mind that my team is still a work in progress and like all things it is subject to change. now to meet my "creative" team of diabetes inducing fluff~

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Def / 216 SpD
Impish Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

Lets start with Chansey. What could possibly be anymore cute than a little pink bundle of joy stalling you out for countless turns until your special threats die of a sugary overdose? the main purpose for this pokemon in my team is just to be a big fat special wall that can set up stealth rocks and be a general pain to deal with. there really isn't much to say about this set that makes it unique so we'll just move straight on.

380.gif

Latias @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SpA / 80 SpD
Calm Nature
- Defog
- Wish
- Reflect
- Thunderbolt

You thought i was done with special walls? THINK AGAIN. while i know its not really ideal to have 2 special tanks when the majority of the OU threats are physical i find that Latias really does a better job than that of my previous screen support i'm looking at you Klefki may you rip in pepperonis along with swagger where you belong. Its key function is to remove any entry hazards for my team and to keep my damage threats healthy with Wish. the thunderbolt is kind of a placeholder at the moment because i'm not too sure what offensive move Latias gains the most neutral hit coverage with/benefits it the most. did i mention Latias is as cute? |'D

468.gif

Togekiss (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Air Slash
- Trick
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower

-[INSERT POKEMON HERE]- Flinched and couldn't move. call me cheap all you want this thing does so much work for me. granted its not always reliable Togekiss is probably the Pokemon that holds my team together. Trick allows me to dispose of item dependent Pokemon (mostly just eviolite Pokemon and leftover sets) while also giving me access to other options outside of Air Slash spam. flamethrower also keeps them pesky steel types in check and then i'm reminded that bullet punch exists. Did i mention this thing is cute?

006.gif

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power
EVs: 44 Atk / 212 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Overheat
- Brick Break

This is the eyesore in my team. That aside Charizard is probably the biggest damage dealer in my team. while the coverage isn't that great sunny day more than makes up for it with raw damage. what else is there to say really? im sorry lopunny i betrayed you please forgive me.

184.gif

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 28 Def / 28 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Belly Drum
- Play Rough
- Bulldoze

Azumarill is laughing at you all as it remembers all the neglect you showed it prior to gen 6. this adorable bunny now packs a mighty punch but is also my only source of real physical damage(Chansey doesn't count guys). this set is rather plain but has one somewhat noticeable gimmick to it, Bulldoze. if you can bait out a switch this move water bunny over here can outplay a number of Pokemon you wouldn't otherwise out speed. rather than invest 40 points in speed i chose to bring the the other defensive stats above 200 like it really makes a difference amirite? the biggest reason it takes a slot on my team though is for the priority of aqua jet and to check the dread Landorus.

547.gif

Whimsicott (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 192 HP / 252 Def / 64 SpA
Bold Nature
- Cotton Guard
- Leech Seed
- Moon blast
- Growth
now that you've seen the rest its time to meet the cutest. by far the cutest piece of diabetes inducing bundle of joy you will ever see in the Pokemon universe now and forever because it's not like i'm totally bias or anything, Whimsicott (while not being the biggest damage threat) is the anchor to my team. if given the chance Whimsicott will eat any team alive if you're unprepared for it. the main focus of this Pokemon is to act as my physical wall. "but LiberationPanda, Whimsicott is far too squishy to be a tank" i hear you cry, well you would be dead WRONG. priority cotton guard>leech seed is the core to this set and transforms this fluff-ball into a genuine "tanky" annoyance. Growth combined with the Drought from Charizard then turns it into a damage threat, truly worthy of holding the title of "Anchor" in my team.
please be aware i run multiple Whimsicotts with this set with the latter 2 moves altering between Giga Drain, Fake Tears, Tailwind and light screen depending on how aggressive or defensive i feel like playing that day. Rocky helmet is also a thing so yeah.

And now to close it's like i'm writing an essay i swear. While my team lacks a lot of coverage it makes up for it with a fair amount of sustained damage. one of the biggest flaws i am yet to address is the fact that if Whimsicott is killed my team lacks a huge amount of physical bulk which can lead to an easy sweep (i'm looking at you Scizor). and yes half of this team has a weakness to poison and steel so that's a thing. open to thoughts and opinions and any options people might have on how i could improve this team or even any distinct issues you have with the set and why you hate it |'D

Thanks for reading

Charizard and Azumarill having conflicting playstyles. Since they're your main offensive options, you may wanna change things.

Also, these guys will run all over your team once MegaZard Y is gone:

Thanks for the reply,
i know the set gets swept fairly easily by all the above threats which is why i chose to take charizard as my main sweeper. with that said the current pokemon i'm looking to switch out is Azumarill, still looking at options that would help round out the team. any suggestions would be great.

As previously said, your team is blown through by strong steel types, namely Mega Metagross and Mega Scizor. Also I agree with the above comment that Charizard and Azumarill have conficting playstyles so I advise replacing Charizard with Mega Metagross as it provides a free switch in to any poison attacks that are targeted at your many Fairy types, also there's no sun that would actually annoy your team more than help as it would weaken Azumarill's attacks and also make Whimsicott a sitting duck.

Also about your Latias, Light Clay would only be a decent choice if you were running dual screens. If you're only running reflect then I'd advise running the Healing Wish offensive support variant, if played correctly you can get 2 chances at setting up a Belly Drum with Azumarill.

376.gif

Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt
- Ice Punch

So I opted not to go for Bullet Punch on this set because it reaches 350 Speed anyway which is enough to tie with Latias and Latios and many of the Lati Twins run HP Fire so it will definitely outspeed. On Latios Ice Punch has a 70% chance to OHKO so the odds are in your favour and on Latias it does around 86-100%.

380.gif

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 32 HP / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Healing Wish
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Hidden Power [Fire]

In this Latias set I added 30HP EVs so that it would live an Ice Punch from a Jolly Mega Metagross with like 1% left. That's also why I opted for the Leftovers over the Life Orb. This set allows you to get at least a Defog off and even a Healing Wish if the speed tie is in your favour.

Also Whimsicott isn't the greatest physical wall since Bullet Punch from Mega Metagross and Mega Scizor hurts it a lot, I like what you did with Cotton Guard but Mega Scizor can just Roost and Swords Dance up to sweep with a Technician boosted Bullet Punch. But since I cant suggest a viable alternative I thought I'd just throw it out there.

Thanks for the Advice,
First of all i kind of forgot to state that whimsicott is my "signiture" Pokemon and while its not the Greatest option i put it in all my teams stubborn i know. with that said switching out charizard for a metagross is something im considering now that you've mentioned (need to test it first ofcourse). Regarding the latias, because of the whimsicott leftovers really isnt an option as an item and due to my over all low amounts of physical bulk the light clay is there to ensure i can reduce as much physical damage as often as possible. bearing all this in mind i'll still test out the set and see how well it synergises with the team. if you have any other alternative pokemon you'd think would fill the role better ie a dual screener or support im open to switching it out
