First of all I just started doing battle spot doubles during a week ago. I've been consistently losing due to lack of sense in team building. I have been wondering if this team of pairs would make a huge impact in the arena. I breed for hours to get shinies. Since I got a shiny gen 6 pokemon for the first time. Well I decided to build a team around it. We'll see how it goes.
P.S. Everyone on my team has Protect except for the mega.
- This is the shiny that I'm talking about. It's role is support despite it can't withstand for long it gives way to sweepers to finish the game early.
- Now I just need my first tailwind sweeper. I picked breloom because i'ts my fave subsweeper.
- As a sun team I don't really rely on the sun that much I'll just now place a mega pokemon with monstrous Sp.Atk and another Sweeper/Support Poke.
- All I have to do now is to add a couple of defensive walls.
Now to more details:
@
Mrs. Valentine (Noivern) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Infiltrator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 148 SDef / 48 Spd / 60 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Tailwind
- Air Slash
- Protect
- Taunt
This is the shiny that I am talking about. Usually Noivern is run as choice specs because of it's speed making it a beast in Special Sweeping. Though it is not that bulky, it's EV spread is made to withstand a couple of fairy moves. I added a little amount in speed just to make sure from scarfed chomps. Its infiltrator is for the sub-seed grass types and those sub-setters. Taunt by the way to shut down those trick room setters. Overall this is my main support and it carries its role pretty well.
252+ SpA Pixie Plate Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 148 SpD Noivern: 452-534 (120.8 - 142.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Pixie Plate Sylveon Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 148 SpD Noivern: 312-368 (83.4 - 98.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Mega Blastoise Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 148 SpD Yache Berry Noivern: 204-242 (54.5 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
(204, 208, 210, 212, 214, 216, 220, 222, 224, 226, 228, 232, 234, 236, 238, 242)
@
Breloom @ Eject Button
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Substitute
- Rock Tomb
- Protect
The sweeper that is going to use Tailwind to its full content. I am not actually sure what pokemon I am going to fill this slot for. At the moment it is one of my faves that looks like a dinosaur. I'm making sure that tailwind will be used consistently that's why I made it carry an eject button to switch directly to the one that perfectly fits in a particular situation. I carry Substitute just to not directly activate the eject button.
@
Ninetales @ Air Balloon
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SDef / 96 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Heat Wave
- Protect
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Ninetales: 416-492 (118.8 - 140.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Mega Launcher Mega Blastoise Water Pulse vs. 252 HP / 160+ SpD Ninetales: 236-282 (67.4 - 80.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
This magnificent looking beast is just another poke that fits unto my team. I decided to have a support that gives a boost to my mega. It carries air balloon knowingly that both are devastated by EQ. It's substitute is for stalling pokes in tight situations. I just adjusted the EV spread so that it can withstand a water pulse from a Mega-Toise and Scald. Going back to the eject button, I can easily switch from Breloom to this fox right here to cripple the opponent's physical attackers with WoW.
@
Houndoom-Mega @ Houndoominite
Ability: Solar Power
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
Now for the main dish. Now that everything is set from Tailwind to Sunbringer, I just have to add another poke that is surprisingly incinerating in the battle spot. It's ability is just perfect for its stats giving a ridiculous amount of boost. Now not only fire type moves are boosted but all special moves as well. It is also an anti trick room poke setter. I decided not to run protect because the sun takes away 1/8 of its HP every turn hence outspeeds most of its tier. Its Hidden Power Ice is for the Dragons and Ground types out there.
@
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Gyro Ball
- Protect
As I am concerned for walls, I noticed that I am weak to fairy, water, ice, rock and ground. This poke is the one that fills that hole to many types. I run sub-seed at the moment not sure if substitute is really that needed. I run 0 Sp.Def because it is just OHKO'd by most fire types anyway so why bother. It is my first time using this poke so I am open to new suggestions regarding moveset and EV spread.
@
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Protect
- Haze
252+ Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tentacruel: 510-600 (140.1 - 164.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
I realized that fairy is a huge treat to this team. This mushroom looking guy is just the perfect fairy wall. Thunderbolt from a Mega-Gardevoir? Not a problem. Earthquake? Well you better last long here son. This poke right here is the definition of endurance. The stamina king. It's black sludge/ protect can just stall any poke. Plus scald makes it harder to face.
As I conclude. I am planning to replace that slot of breloom. Which sweeper is the best when it comes to Tailwind?I am open to any of your suggestions. Feel free to give any constructive criticism. It goes by pair as you have noticed. I'm hoping to win more games on the battle spot soon!
P.S. Everyone on my team has Protect except for the mega.
