Due to its amazing defensive stat and typing Tangrowth serves as a great pivot and physically-defensive answer to a plethora of Pokemon in OU like Zeraora, Excadrill, Rillaboom, and Barraskewda. Rocky Helmet is the item of choice, which helps wear down physical attackers like the aforementioned Zeraora and Excadrill, and various Rillaboom sets. It is also able to check Barraskewda, Urshifu-R and Crawdaunt on rain teams. Giga Drain is Tangrowths STAB-option and in conjunction with Regenerator it's able to stay healthy. Knock Off removes annoying items like Heavy-Duty Boots from Flying- and Fire-type Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Rotom-Heat. Focus Blast is Tangrowth's preferred coverage as it can hit Ferrothorn which otherwise would be troublesome for Tangrowth to deal with. Sludge Bomb threatens Fairy-types like Togekiss and is also a way to deal a lot of damage to Rillaboom, furthermore it can poison Pokemon like Volcarona, Rotom-Heat, and Hydreigon, when they try to set-up infront of Tangrowth. Its last slot is Sleep Powder which in general is a great utility option and that enables Tangrowth's partners a set-up opportunity. Stun Spore is a great alternative, as it is able to spread paralysis on multiple Pokemon like Clefable, Volcarona, and Togekiss whereas Sleep Powder can be played around by chosing a Pokemon as sleep-fodder for the previous mentioned threats. The HP-stat and Defense-stat is maximized and a Relaxed Nature is chosen as it doesn't lower Tangrowths Speed.

Because Tangrowth is rather passive it's limited to more bulky teams such as bulky offense, which are in need of a reliable physical wall on their teams. Tangrowth appreciates teammates that are able to break through the opponent's team, such as Zeraora. Zeraora has great synergy with Tangrowth, as Tangrowth checks Ground-types like Hippowdon and Excadrill which helps Zeraora. Zeraora can deal with troublesome Flying-types like Mandibuzz and Togekiss. Magnezone also compliments Tangrowth well as a partner, as it can trap and remove difficult Pokemon for Tangrowth like Corviknight and Skarmory, Tangrowth in return can check Excadrill. Clefable is a great option as well as it can set Stealth Rocks while Tangrowth checks Pokemon which Clefable struggles with such as Excadrill and Swords Dance Aegislash. Toxapex is a formidable partner as Tangrowth and Toxapex can form a Regenerator Core and they support each other by cancelling out their weaknesses; Toxapex can switch into strong Fire- and Poison-type attacks, whereas Tangrowth can help against Ground and Electric-type attacks aimed at Toxapex.
Togekiss is also a notable partner as it can make use of Heal Bell to cure status conditions like Toxic from Tangrowth which can hinder it from executing its role perfectly. In return Tangrowth's physical bulk makes it able to tank strong Iron Heads from Excadrill aimed at Togekiss.
Tyranitar is a great partner as well as it can check Fire-Type attacks and Fire-types like Volcarona, which otherwise would use Tangrowth as set-up bait, whereas Tangrowth checks Excadrill, Rillaboom, and Urshifu for Tyranitar.

Due to its amazing defensive stat and typing Tangrowth serves as a great pivot and physically-defensive answer to a plethora of Pokemon in OU like Zeraora, Excadrill, Rillaboom, and Barraskewda. Rocky Helmet is the item of choice, which helps to wear down physical threats such as Zeraora when it's using the STAB-option in Plasma Fists or its utility option in Knock Off, Excadrill with Iron Head, and various Rillaboom sets like Swords Dance and Choice Band (I think this is a bit too long winded. I would cut this to something like "helps wear down physical attackers like the previously aforementioned Zeraora and Excadrill"). It is also able to check Barraskewda on rain teams (I wouldn't limit this to just Barraskewda, as it also checks other physical rain sweepers like Urshifu-R and Crawdaunt, plus this sentence seems out of place in comparison to the detailed, longer sentences you've previously wrote). Giga Drain is Tangrowths STAB-option and in conjunction with Regenerator it's able to stay healthy. Knock Off removes annoying items like Heavy-Duty Boots from Flying- and Fire-type Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Rotom-Heat. Focus Blast is Tangrowth's preferred coverage as it can hit Ferrothorn which otherwise would be troublesome for Tangrowth to deal with (I think Sludge Bomb is worth a mention here, to keep Fairy-types like Clefable at bay, and also acts as a way for Tangrowth to threaten Rillaboom). Its last slot is Sleep Powder which in general is a great utility option and it enables Tangrowth's partners a set-up opportunity. Alternatively Stun Spore can be a great option to dish out paralysis and supports the team well while it can be used to hit Clefable, Volcarona and Togekiss as the opponent can't use another Pokemon on their team as sleep-fodder, which would make the previously mentioned Pokemon untouchable (While this isn't a grammar check, I did find this sentence hard to follow, so I'd probably restructure this bit).
A Relaxed Nature is chosen as it doesn't lower Tangrowths already very low special defense and its EVs are fully invested in its HP-stat and Defense-stat so that Tangrowth can fullfill its role as a physical wall as best as it can (This is probably unnecessary info, might be worth cutting. If this is kept just cut it down to the likes of "speed isn't necessary").

Because Tangrowth is rather passive it's limited to more bulky teams such as bulky offense, which are in need of a reliable physical wall on their teams. Tangrowth appreciates teammates that are able to break through the opponent's team, such as Zeraora. Zeraora has great synergy with Tangrowth, as Tangrowth checks Ground-types like Hippowdon and Excadrill which helps Zeraora as when these Pokemon are removed, it is not roadblocked by them anymore when using Volt Switch (I think some of this is unnecessary, I think its common knowledge Ground types block Volt Switch, so consider cutting this). Zeraora can deal with troublesome Flying-types like Mandibuzz and Togekiss with the help of its Electric attacks (If you cut both of these bits, you could probably merge into one sentence). Magnezone also compliments Tangrowth well as a partner, as it can trap and remove difficult Pokemon for Tangrowth like Corviknight and Skarmory, Tangrowth in return can check Excadrill which Choice Specs Magnezone has trouble with (unnecessary).

(I think Tyranitar deserves a mention as a good teammate. Tyranitar absorbs Fire-type attacks, and checks Volcarona, which can use Tangrowth as setup bait. Tangrowth in return checks Excadrill, Rillaboom, and Urshifu)
