[OVERVIEW]

Tangrowth is one of the few viable sleep inducers in Ubers. The combination of Regenerator, great physical bulk, and a decent defensive typing lets Tangrowth check many physical threats such as Zygarde, Groudon, and Necrozma-DM. As a trade-off, Tangrowth is extremely fragile specially. Its typing leaves it vulnerable to extremely common Ice-, Fire-, and Poison-type attacks, but even neutral special hits can bring it down, such as Eternatus's Dynamax Cannon and Calyrex-S's Astral Barrage. Also, after putting a foe to sleep, Tangrowth somewhat struggles to be useful, as it's very weak unless it hits super effectively.

[SET COMMENTS]

Tangrowth's great bulk makes it a decent physical check to many threats in the tier, including Necrozma-DM, Groudon, and Zekrom. Sleep Powder is the main asset of this set, as sleep inducers are extremely rare in Ubers. Grass Knot hits the heavy foes found in the tier quite hard, and it gives Tangrowth a good chance to break Zygarde-C's Substitute. Knock Off severely hinders the effectiveness of switch-ins such as Yveltal, Ho-Oh, and Lunala. Leech Seed helps against bulky set-up sweepers like Coil Zygarde and Calm Mind Kyogre while also keeping Tangrowth healthy. It also discourages foes like specially defensive Necrozma-DM and defensive Groudon, which would use Tangrowth as a free opportunity to set up Stealth Rock. If your team has answers to those threats, Synthesis helps Tangrowth check dangerous threats such as Choice Band Marshadow. Rocky Helmet punishes contact moves such as Sunsteel Strike from Necrozma-DM and Bolt Strike from Zekrom. Leftovers can be chosen instead for the extra recovery, which ensures Tangrowth is not 2HKOed by a Close Combat from Choice Band Jolly Marshadow.

Tangrowth's miserable special bulk makes specially defensive teammates mandatory. Specially defensive Necrozma-DM is a solid blanket check to special attackers and offers Stealth Rock support. Blissey functions similarly, especially helping against Kyogre and Eternatus. Sweepers that take advantage of a sleeping foe like Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM, Dragon Dance Zygarde, and Bulk Up Marshadow make great teammates for Tangrowth. Dragon Dance + Dragon Tail Zygarde and Bulk Up Marshadow are great for beating Ferrothorn and Zarude, which completely wall Tangrowth. Groudon offers sun support, which improves Tangrowth's Synthesis while setting Stealth Rock and exploiting sleeping foes with Swords Dance. In return, Tangrowth walls Marshadow, which forces out Groudon with Spectral Thief. Furthermore, with a boosted Synthesis under the sun, Tangrowth can reliably check Marshadow without being overwhelmed. Finally, clerics stop status from overwhelming Tangrowth in conjunction with heavy wallbreakers like Choice Band Marshadow. The aforementioned Blissey does this well, while Xerneas is another option that is great against mixed attackers such as Draco Meteor Zekrom and Life Orb Draco Meteor Rayquaza.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Earthquake can be used to pressure Dragon Dance Zekrom; it also hits the rare Heatran quite hard on the switch. However, its utility remains relatively low, and it's at the cost of the often superior Knock Off.

Checks and Counters
====

**Grass-types**: Zarude can use Tangrowth as setup fodder, and Ferrothorn can easily set up Spikes or Iron Defense on it.

**Fire-type Coverage**: Many Pokemon that Tangrowth usually checks can use super effective coverage moves. These include Weather Ball Zekrom alongside Groudon, Heat Crash Groudon, and the extremely rare Heat Wave Necrozma-DM.

**Super Effective Moves**: Despite its great physical bulk, Tangrowth may fall to super effective physical moves after chip damage, such as Icicle Crash from Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile's Triple Axel.

**Special Attackers**: Due to Tangrowth's miserable special bulk, special attackers force it out with ease. While it cannot switch in on a Knock Off, Calyrex-S, in particular, can OHKO Tangrowth with Astral Barrage, use Trick to cripple the incoming check, or use Aromatherapy, which cures a sleep induced by Tangrowth. While it doesn't like to be put to sleep, Eternatus deals a ton of damage to Tangrowth with Flamethrower or Sludge Bomb and doesn't take much from Tangrowth's attacks. Worst of all, Pressure easily depletes Leech Seed's PP, which can leave Tangrowth completely useless against it long-term.

**Clerics**: Blissey can easily set up Stealth Rock on Tangrowth, and it doesn't care much about sleep thanks to Natural Cure. Xerneas can run Sleep Talk and doesn't take much from Tangrowth's moves, and it either threatens Tangrowth with Moonblast or uses Aromatherapy to cure its sleep. Finally, Calyrex-S can easily OHKO with Astral Barrage. However, Blissey and Calyrex-S don't like to switch in on a Knock Off.

**Substitute Users**: Tangrowth relies a lot on Leech Seed and Sleep Powder to be effective. Behind a Substitute, Geomancy Xerneas and Dragon Dance Zekrom use Tangrowth as setup fodder.

**Heatran**: While it fears Earthquake and doesn't want to be put to sleep, Heatran easily OHKOes Tangrowth with Magma Storm. By forcing Tangrowth out, it is free to set up Stealth Rock.

I am not a GP checker but I love you so much I gave you a few edits.
As a future note, when listing 3 or more things, add a comma before the "and" (eg Zygarde, Groudon, and Necrozma-DM instead of Zygarde, Groudon and Necrozma-DM)

[Overview]

  • Tangrowth is the one of the few viable sleeper of the tier with the access of Sleep Powder. sleep inducers in Ubers.
  • A The combination of Regenerator, a great physical bulk, and a decent Grass defensive typing in Grass offer the opportunity to Tangrowth the opportunity to check many physical threats such as Zygarde, Groudon, and Necrozma-DM.
  • It has access to some useful tools such as Knock Off, Leech Seed, and Toxic which doesn't leave it useless after it putted a foe to sleep. (I deliberated on this and decided this could be cut)
  • Tangrowth remains is extremely fragile on the special side, and its typing doesn't help it as it leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Fire, and Poison-types attacks which are extremely common in SS Ubers. (add a comment about how even neutral special hits can bring it down such as Eternatus's Dynamax Cannon or something idk lolz)
  • Its offensive stats are also quite low as they are not invested, and it won't do much damage to neutral and resisting foes like Xerneas and Yveltal. (rephrase slightly, I'd like the focus of the sentence to become how Tangrowth lets in a ton of common foes after something has been put to sleep)

[SET COMMENTS]

  • Tangrowth's great bulk make it able to be a decent physical check to many threats in the tier, including Necrozma-DM, Groudon, and Zekrom.
  • Sleep Powder is the main asset of this set, as sleepers are extremely rare in the tier. , putting a foe to sleep often means completely neutralizing it.
  • Grass Knot is your best weapon against many foes, as most Pokemons in the tier are heavy and will take it as a base 120 BP move. In particular, it hits heavily Groudon, Kyogre and Zygarde. Grass Knot hits the heavy foes found in Ubers quite hard and gives Tangrowth a good chance to break Zygarde-C's Substitute.
  • Knock Off cripples switch-ins such as Yveltal, Ho-Oh, and Lunala, removing their items being often Heavy-Duty Boots, which leaves them vulnerable to Stealth Rock. which severely hinders their effectiveness.
  • Leech Seed finally helps against bulky setup sweepers like Coil Zygarde and Calm Mind Kyogre while also keeping Tangrowth healthy. , which cannot handle both Leech Seed damages and constant damages from Grass Knot. It also cripples foes like Specially Defensive Necrozma-DM and Defensive Groudon that would use Tangrowth as a free entry to set up their Stealth Rock (who sends in Groudon on Tang? bit of a weird sentence). If you have answers to those threats, Synthesis is a reliable recovery move that helps to check dangerous threats such as Choice Band Marshadow.
  • Regenerator is the must-have ability, giving a great recovery option. (self-evident)
  • Rocky Helmet punishes contact moves from foes such as Sunsteel Strike from Necrozma-DM or Bolt Strike from Zekrom. Leftovers can also be chosen instead for the extra recovery, which ensure Tangrowth to not be is not 2HKOed by a Close Combat from Choice Band Jolly Marshadow.

  • Tangrowth's miserable special bulk makes specially defensive teammates checks mandatory in your team. Specially defensive Necrozma-DM is a solid blanket check to most special attackers and offers a solid special wall, as well as Stealth Rock support.
  • Sweepers that take advantage of a sleeping foe like Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM, Dragon Dance Zygarde, and Bulk Up Marshadow make great teammates for Tangrowth. In particular, Dragon Dance + Dragon Tail Zygarde and Bulk Up Marshadow are great as they are especially good against Ferrothorn and Zarude, which completely wall Tangrowth.
  • Groudon offers sun support, which Tangrowth can used to boost its Synthesis. Groudon also offers Stealth Rock support, and can take advantage of a sleeping foe to boost its Attack to dangerous levels with Swords Dance. In return, Tangrowth walls Marshadow which forces out Groudon with Spectral Thief. (mention how it helps Tangrowth from being overwhelmed)
(mention cleric support from sth like Xerneas and Blissey. Implement blissey to the special wall point. Ho-Oh makes a regen core and helps vs Xerneas. In return, Tang eats Knock thrown HoOh's way)

Earthquake can be used to not let Dragon Dance Zekrom win its duel against Tangrowth, it also hits severely the rare Heatran on switch. However, its utility remains relatively low and it's at the cost of the oftenly superior Knock Off.

Checks and Counters
====

**Grass-Types**: Even if they can be crippled by Knock Off, the opposing Grass-types Pokemon completely wall Tangrowth. Zarude can use Tangrowth as a setup sweeper, while Ferrothorn can easily set up its Spikes or use Tangrowth as a setup fodder with Iron Defense + Body Press.

**Super-Effective Moves**: Many Pokemon that Tangrowth usually checks can use coverages moves that hit Tangrowth super-effectively. That include Weather Ball Zekrom, Heat Crash Groudon, and the extremely rare Heat Wave Necrozma-DM. Also, even if it has a great physical bulk, Tangrowth easily falls from super effective physical moves, such as Ice Crash from Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile's Triple Axel.

**Special Attackers**: Due to its miserable special bulk, special attackers forces Tangrowth out with ease. While it cannot switch in on a Knock Off, Calyrex-S in particular can OHKO Tangrowth with Astral Barrage, use Trick and cripple the incoming check, or use Aromatherapy and cure its team from status, including an induced sleep by Tangrowth. While it doesn't like to be put to sleep, Eternatus deals a ton of damages to Tangrowth with Flamethrower or Sludge Bomb, and doesn't take much from what Tangrowth can throw at him. Worst of all, Pressure easily depletes Leech Seed's PP, and at long term it can leave Tangrowth completely useless against it.

**Clerics**: While they are few in numbers, all clerics in the tier are problematic for Tangrowth. Blissey can easily setup its Stealth Rock, and doesn't care much to be put to sleep thanks to Natural Cure. Xerneas can use Sleep Talk and either menaces threatens Tangrowth with Moonblast, or it can use Aromatherapy and cures both its sleep and its teammates' status, and doesn't take much from any of Tangrowth's moves. Finally, Calyrex-S can easily OHKO with Astral Barrage. However, none of those threats like to switch in on a Knock Off.

**Sleep Talk Users**: Sleep being the main benefit of Tangrowth, Sleep Talk users ruins any progress it would make. In particular, RestTalk Kyogre menaces Tangrowth as it can easily boost its bulk with Calm Mind, and take little damages from Grass Knot. (uncommon + a bad roll makes it get 2HKOed)

**Substitute Users**: Tangrowth relies a lot on Leech Seed and Sleep Powder to be effective. Behind a Substitute, Geomancy Xerneas and Dragon Dance Zekrom leaves Tangrowth as a setup fodder. Dragon Dance Zygarde may have trouble setting up because Grass Knot always 2HKO its Substitute.

**Zygarde**: As mentioned before, Dragon Dance + Dragon Tail Zygarde can be troublesome for Tangrowth to consistently check it if a foe has already been put to sleep. Substitute + Toxic variant can severely cripple Tangrowth, and Zygarde can win the duel if Tangrowth has to switch on a Dragon Dance while being poisoned.

**Heatran**: explain why

Sleep Powder is the main asset of this set, as sleep inducers are extremely rare in Ubers. Grass Knot hits the heavy foes found in the tier quite hard, and it gives Tangrowth a good chance to break Zygarde-C's Substitute. Knock Off severely hinders the effectiveness of switch-ins such as Yveltal, Ho-Oh, and Lunala. Leech Seed helps against bulky set-up sweepers like Coil Zygarde and Calm Mind Kyogre while also keeping Tangrowth healthy. It also crippldiscourages foes like specially defensive Necrozma-DM and defensive Groudon, which would use Tangrowth as a free switch inopportunity to set up Stealth Rock. If your team has answers to those threats, Synthesis helps toTangrowth check dangerous threats such as Choice Band Marshadow.

Groudon offers sun support, which improves Tangrowth's Synthesis, while setting Stealth Rock and exploiting sleeping foes with Swords Dance. In return, Tangrowth walls Marshadow, which forces out Groudon with Spectral Thief. WFurthermore, with a boosted Synthesis under the sun, Tangrowth can reliably check itMarshadow without being overwhelmed. Finally, clerics stops status from overwhelming Tangrowth in conjunction with heavy wallbreakers like Choice Band Marshadow. Blissey is an aforementioned exampleThe aforementioned Blissey does this well, while Xerneas is another option that is great against mixed attackers such as Draco Meteor Zekrom and Life Orb Draco Meteor Rayquaza.

Earthquake can be used to outduelpressure Dragon Dance Zekrom; it also severely hits the rare Heatran quite hard on the switch. However, its utility remains relatively low, and it's at the cost of the often superior Knock Off.

Checks and Counters

**Grass-types**: Zarude can use Tangrowth as setup fodder, and Ferrothorn can easily use it as a fodder forset up Spikes or Iron Defense on it.

While it cannot switch in on a Knock Off, Calyrex-S, in particular, can OHKO Tangrowth with Astral Barrage, use Trick andto cripple the incoming check, or use Aromatherapy, which cures a sleep induced by Tangrowth.

**Clerics**: Blissey can easily set up its Stealth Rock on Tangrowth, and it doesn't care much about sleep thanks to Natural Cure. Xerneas can userun Sleep Talk and doesn't take much from Tangrowth's moves, and it either threatens Tangrowth with Moonblast or uses Aromatherapy to cure its sleep.

By forcing Tangrowth out, it is free to set up its Stealth Rock.

[Overview]

Tangrowth is the one of the few viable sleep inducers in Ubers. The combination of Regenerator, great physical bulk, and a decent defensive typing in Grass lets Tangrowth check many physical threats such as Zygarde, Groudon, and Necrozma-DM. Also, after putting a foe to sleep, Tangrowth somewhat struggles some to be useful, as it's very weak unless it lands a super effective hithits super effectively.
