I am confused as to why can't I use my teams. Like for Alolan Teams, I can't use any Pokémon that is not in the Alola dex? Is that how it works? Also, if you could explain the rules to each..battle station. Thank you kindly

If this question is regarding to VGC, the answer is simply because the rules are Alola dex only, meaning all mons not found in Alola (as well as Island Scan mons) are banned from the format. Idk any other format that restricts the eligible Pokemon to the ones found in Alola atm.
