Team Hulk Smash! (UU RMT)
Hello, I am GMLW. I used to be a shitty poster; now I just don’t post (well, I don’t post often). I’m not exactly the greatest of battlers, so if you’re wondering how I got a high enough rating to get that checkmark for taking part in the UU suspect process, I’m not exactly sure. Anyway, I made this team a while ago. It has gone through many changes, although the general concept is still the same. This team isn’t focused as much on getting a sweep; it’s more focused on just smashing stuff until they die. However, it also uses bulk to absorb moves while hitting back. I’m very proud of this team, and want to improve it. Anyway, enough of that, onto the team!

Mesprit @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Grass Knot
Psychic
Stealth Rock
U-turn
Mesprit is my Stealth Rock lead, and I must say, it does its job remarkably. Base 80 Speed is pretty good for UU, but it can be out-sped by some common leads like Ambipom. Due to this, I run max Speed and Timid in order to outrun other leads that might not run max Speed such as neutral natured Moltres, Qwilfish, or Kabutops. The Speed also comes in handy later on in the match if Mesprit can find a time to get in. Psychic and Grass Knot get some pretty nice coverage together, with Psychic as obligatory STAB, and Grass Knot being able to OHKO lead Rhyperior, and 2HKO lead Omastar and Kabutops. The HP is helpful so that Mesprit can take hits better. Stealth Rock is always helpful, and U-turn is for scouting. Mesprit has nice synergy with Blaziken, because Blaziken can beat the lead Mesprit hates the most: Spiritomb. It can switch in on Will-o-Wisp and Pursuit, and do some nasty damage with Fire Blast.

Azumarill @ Leftovers
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Atk / 16 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
Focus Punch
Substitute
Waterfall
Azumarill is one of the Hulks in this team. Huge Power turns this guy into an absolute beast. SubPunch Azumarill is great. Substitute is so helpful, blocking statuses and basically acting as a buffer. And due to Azumarill’s HP, it can make 101 subs, allowing it to beat walls who use Seismic Toss. It is also essential in sub-punching because without it, Azumarill wouldn’t be able to pull off a Focus Punch. Fighting and Water get nice coverage together, and Focus Punch does awesome damage to Pokemon who would come in to absorb Waterfall, such as Milotic, although Slowbro is a major pain. Aqua Jet is an awesome move on Azumarill. It may not be a powerful move, but Huge Power turns it into a great revenge move. The HP is obviously to make 101 subs. The Speed is to out-speed other base 50s who don’t run any Speed. The rest goes into Attack to turn Azumarill into a monster.

Aggron @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Aqua Tail
Head Smash
Ice Punch
Low Kick
Aggron is the second Hulk, and by far the best. Aggron absolutely rips shit apart. Adamant 252 banded Head Smash off of 110 base Attack will destroy you. It is more powerful than Rhyperior’s Stone Edge. Honestly, I don’t even know why I have any other moves on him, most of the time I just spam Head Smash. Even resisted, it will still do a lot of damage. Aqua Tail is for hitting Rhyperior. Ice Punch is for hitting Torterra. Low Kick is for hitting Registeel. 252 Atk is obvious. 252 Spd is important to out-speed key defensive Pokemon. I have been considering running Jolly to out-speed Torterra and Hitmontop, but I’ll be losing a lot of power. Along with insane Attack, his base Defense is actually higher than his base Attack, so he acts as my physical sponge, unless it’s a Fighting or Ground move. Unfortunately, his Special Defense is awful, so I have to be careful with him.

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Leaf Storm
Sleep Powder
Sludge Bomb
Synthesis
Venusaur is also a Hulk, but from the special side. Life Orb Venusaur is by far the most reliable Venusaur set there is. Sleep Powder the switch-in, then smash stuff with Leaf Storm. Sludge Bomb gets decent coverage, but not too great. It hits Grass-types SE, and other types neutrally, but Registeel can wall Venusaur infinitely. He also doesn’t do too well against Poison-types. SubRotom can cause it troubles because Sludge Bomb is NFE, and Leaf Storm gets me down to -6 Special Attack in a hurry. Synthesis is a really helpful move, and works perfectly on Venusaur due to its decent defenses, and because it’s the sort of Pokemon that needs to stick around the whole match. 252 Special Attack is obvious. The Speed is really helpful, and allows me to out-speed neutral-natured Rotom and Moltres.

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Nasty Plot
Shadow Ball
Substitute
Thunderbolt
I love SubPlot Missy. It is such a great sweeper, although it never gets the chance to sweep, so it mainly just attacks. But if I can set it up, you’d better watch out; she is powerful. The concept is simple: Sub if you get the chance, Nasty Plot if you get the chance, sweep. Sweeping is easy due to Missy’s great Speed. Timid and 252 allows her to get the jump on certain important Pokemon such as Arcanine, Houndoom, and Drapion. Shadow Ball is an all around reliable move and gets STAB. Thunderbolt is a nice coverage move to go with it. HP Fighting is nice to beat Registeel, but you lose a Speed point, and is weaker than Thunderbolt on neutral hits. The great thing about Missy is that it is the one special sweeper who can set up on Chansey once it gets behind a sub. She can also double as a spin-blocker, which is nice on offensive teams like this one.

Blaziken @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
Fire Blast
HP Grass
Superpower
Vacuum Wave
My wall breaker. Blaziken is an important member of my team as this team desperately needs a Will-o-Wisp absorber, because nobody on my team likes being burned. Blaziken also gets good synergy with Mesprit like I said earlier, because it beats Spiritomb. Like I also said, it’s important in beating all the walls my other Pokemon have trouble with. Superpower wreaks Chansey and Registeel, who also dies to Fire Blast. HP Grass helps kill all those annoying bulky waters that wall my whole team minus Venusaur (and I guess Mesprit with Grass Knot). Vacuum Wave is an awesome move for revenging other Pokemon and can be a real game-changer by beating fast sweepers. Max Speed and Special Attack with Mild for better wall-breaking prowess, and the rest in Attack to power up Superpower. Without Blaziken, my team would have serious problems with stall.
Big Threats
Spiritomb- Will-o-Wisp really screws up my team, and Mesprit and Mismagius do horribly against it. If Blaziken dies, I’m in trouble.
Rotom- If Rotom gets a sub up, I’m going to have to sacrifice at least one Pokemon.
Bulky waters- Azumarill and Aggron have problems getting past bulky waters, specifically Slowbro and Milotic. While it may not look like as much of a threat due to my powerful physical attackers, Slowking really fucks with this team.
Registeel- Azumarill and Blaziken can take care of him, but everyone else has problems with him.
So that’s my team. I would really appreciate if anybody would rate it to make it better. Thanks!
