BSS Terapagos

Terapagos @ Leftovers
Level: 50
Ability: Tera Shell
EVs: 172 HP / 236 SpA / 100 Spe
IVs: 15 Atk
Tera Type: Stellar
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Tera Starstorm
- Rock Polish
- Protect / Earth Power

Just like its shell, Terapagos shines bright in BSS! Terapagos sees its success due to its ability in Tera Shell, which eats attacks and lets it set up easily using Rock Polish; this enables it to outspeed almost any foe with a few exceptions such as Choice Scarf Miraidon and Koraidon and Booster Energy Flutter Mane. Calm Mind lets it launch boosted Tera Stellar Tera Starstorm, which is not resisted by anything. It can stall poisoned foes and recover from Leftovers paired with Protect. Alternatively, Earth Power lets it take on foes such as Glimmora, Miraidon, and Zacian-C. 172 HP EVs lets it receive maximum Leftovers recovery and reduce entry hazard damage. 100 Speed EVs lets it outspeed Jolly Choice Scarf Landorus-T after a Rock Polish, which is commonly used as a revenge killer. Glimmora assists Terapagos by spreading poison, while Hattrene provides Terapagos with Healing Wish support, giving another sweeping opportunity. Rillaboom sets Grassy Terrain, providing Terapagos with extra recovery, helping it attain Tera Shell again more easily.

Few corrections

- after a rock polish Terapagos outspeeds all mentioned threats except if they are carrying booster energy or choice scarf respectively.

85 base speed with 100 EVs and neutral nature at +2 will get you to a speed stat of 236

135 base speed caps out at 205 with a positive nature and no extra modifiers.

- Secondly I think while Chien-pao is a good teammate it’s not because Terapagos is unable to hit ghost types. Terapagos will always be the Tera mon when it is used on a team like this, and stellar starstorm is capable of hitting ghost types as shown here (also we tried to get a natural game with this interaction but funny). Pao is a great partner just because it’s a good mon in general and very threatening on its own. A better example of a teammate that enables this set well would actually be rillaboom. As shown in the full game we played terrain + leftovers can allow Terapagos to be exceedingly frustrating to take down, even being able to take smaller hits and protect to regain tera shell, allowing it to set up almost infinitely in front of certain pokes. Had tfa not played around it as well as they did (and gotten the crit) Terapagos would have easily won that game.
