Swords Dance Terrakion is one of the most threatening Pokémon in the metagame. Its excellent dual STAB combination allows it to hit nearly everything in the tier for neutral damage. This allows it to fit as a great breaker on many team structures, such as Offensive, Bulky Offense and Balance. Stone Edge is Terrakion's strongest Rock-type STAB, and in conjuction with Rockium Z it turns into a super deadly Continental Crush, allowing it to break through many defensive Pokémon more easily like Buzzwole, Mega Altaria, Skarmory and Mega Slowbro. Earthquake allows Terrakion to hit the targets that resist its dual STAB, such as Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Doublade. Stealth Rock is also a great option on Terrakion, due to the fact that it has a great matchup against most of the hazard removers such as Rotom-Heat and Moltres. Due to Terrakion's immense offensive presence it's able to force switches quite often, meaning it can get up Stealth Rock on those forced switches. At +2, it also manages to threaten other hazard removers such as Rotom-Wash and Mega Altaria, while also threatening Mega Sableye with an OHKO, which could otherwise block Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce. Justified allows Terrakion to take advantage of Pokémon going for a Dark-type move, most notably Knock Off, due to Rockium Z unable to be removed. It should be noted that Terrakion has to be very careful switching into most Dark-type Pokémon, considering most of them have a way to heavily damage Terrakion.

Terrakion fits on a lot of teams in the meta, outside of Stall oriented builds, as it provides immense breaking power. Terrakion should scout for revenge killers such as Choice Scarf users in Jirachi and Krookodile, as well as wanting generally faster Pokémon that can OHKO it, Latias, Mega Diancie and Starmie, to be removed. Pokemon like Choice Scarf Krookodile and Weavile help in this regard, as they're able to outspeed and Pursuit trap most of the threats, as well as threaten an OHKO on Mega Diancie. Due to Terrakion's mediocre defensive typing it oftentimes has trouble coming onto the field. Pairing it with Pokemon like Teleport Slowking, Volt Switch Rotom-H and Rotom-W or U-turn Scizor allows Terrakion to come in more safely. Slowking is especially a good partner, as it offers Future Sight support, allowing Terrakion to have an easier time breaking through Pokémon that could trouble it like Buzzwole and Amoonguss. If you're not running Stealth Rock, hazard setters like Krookodile, Mega Steelix and Blissey make for good teammates. Skarmory and Klefki also make for great teammates, as they can set up Spikes to weaken switch ins. Klefki can also use Thunder Wave to cripple faster threats such as Latias and Choice Scarf users. Pokemon like Moltres and Starmie are able to switch into most priority moves aimed to revenge kill Terrakion, such as Bullet Punch Scizor and Mach Punch Conkeldurr.

Close Combat is Terrakion's strongest and most accurate STAB move. Stone Edge allows Terrakion to hit Pokémon that resist Close Combat, such as Latias, Amoonguss, Moltres and Mega Altaria. Earthquake is ran because it allows Terrakion to hit everything that resists its dual STAB, like Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Doublade. Toxic is in the last slot to catch common Pokémon that would want to switch into Terrakion, like Buzzwole, Hippowdon and Mega Slowbro, and cripple them. Quick Attack is an option to revenge kill weakened faster threats. It should be noted that this move is quite weak and should only be used once the target is at extremely low health.

Terrakion should be used on teams that appreciate its breaking power. Due to Terrakion having a hard time coming onto the field, it appreciates having pivoting support. Options like Teleport Slowking, Volt Switch Rotom-H and Rotom-W or U-turn Scizor allows Terrakion to come in more safely. Slowking is especially a good partner, as it offers Future Sight support, allowing Terrakion to have an easier time breaking through Pokémon that could trouble it like Buzzwole and Amoonguss. Amoonguss acts as a nice partner because it's able to check the Water, Ground and Fairy-type Pokémon that could trouble Terrakion. Pursuit trappers such as Krookodile, Weavile and Scizor to get rid of Psychic-types pair very nicely with Terrakion, as it allows it to click Close Combat more freely.

Stealth Rock is also a great option on Terrakion, due to the fact that it has a great matchup against most of the hazard removers such as Rotom-Heat and Moltres possibly worth mentioning it can also force stuff out and set rocks then due to its immense offensive presence. Mention that it has to be very careful doing this as most dark types naturally have some way to seriously damage Terrakion and a choice locked dark type will very rarely stay in vs Terrakion if it's locked into a dark move and Terrakion isn't in range.

Terrakion fits on a lot of teams in the meta, most notably Offense and Bulky Offense probably worth mentioning Balance too as the defensive cores can make up for the stuff that forces out Terrakion - stall is the only playstyle Terrakion doesn't fit on. This is because it provides immense breaking power for those teams Sentence could be considered fluff, maybe shorten it to "and Bulky Offense, as it provides immense breaking power" and combine with the previous sentence. Terrakion should scout for revenge killers such as Choice Scarf users in Jirachi and Krookodile, as well as wanting generally faster Pokémon that can OHKO it, Latias, Mega Diancie and Starmie, to be removed. If you're not running Stealth Rock, hazard setters like Krookodile, Mega Steelix and Blissey make for good teammates. Klefki also makes for a great teammate, as it can set up Spikes to weaken switch ins Skarmory is back and can Spikes too so it's probably worth adding it somewhere here and can use Thunder Wave to cripple faster threats such as Latias and Choice Scarf users. Probably worth mentioning stuff that deals with Scizor goes well with it

Didn't really have anything to comment on for the CB set.
