I quite like Ameobi in fairness, purely based on his performances in FM2010. and his name.

If name was any indication of ability, Wolves would NEVER have sold Jelle Van Damme!

I live in Manchester now!

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

How did you find Bristol?

Was just passing through on the way to Exeter tbh. It had a very nice train station I suppose.

Subbing Suárez is hard, not something for youth. We really needed Dries Mertens. 7,5M Euro is cheap for such a great player.

Castillion is so overrated!

Dost is good, but a reserve player who costed Heerenveen 3M should be at max 4M, Heerenveen should've been happy with this. Now Bas Dost's career will be ruined. But it is awful that Heerenveen asks 7M if Ajax wants Dost, and Feyenoord has to pay only 4M for him.

This whole post made me a little bit sad...it really hammered home how money-centric top-flight football has become. :(

And let's not forget Brighton's Exodus Geohaghan (I nearly wet myself with joy when I played them on FM and saw that), Swansea's very own Angel Rangel, striker Bongo Christ, and, oh yes, the Portuguese shot-stopper extraordinaire, 'Quim'.

pss A striker MUFC has on 200k a week scored two goals against an underachieving and hovering-around-relegation-battle-status side. Amazing. Brilliant. Well done.

Do you think torres will play his first game for chelsea against liverpool? personally, i think if he did he would upset liverpool fans a little bit.

Because everybody in the Netherland except for Ajax fans hate Ajax, Heerenveen showed that it's true, no trying to be piteous, but is is the truth. Buying a player for the bench for 3M Euro and offering him to Feyenoord for 4M and to Ajax for 7M is just sick. And Ajax wanted to buy Bas Dost for the starting lineup, Heerenveen didn't give him and won't give him a fair chance. Dost is afraid his career will be ruined, and he's afraid to have to go to a smaller and weaker club than subtopper Heerenveen if he wants to play in the next transfer window.

Heerenveen is a subtopper/mid-table club (#7-#10), Feyenoord a relegation candidate (#14-#18) and Ajax a topclub/high subtopper (#1-#4). So Ajax and Heerenveen aren’t concurring in any way. That makes it even worse.

Ajax chairman Rik van den Boog will buy a big house and a luxe car from the Suárez-money XD
Not even an unrealistic thought, he ruined lots of companies he has worked for. So no new players in the summer. And then VD Boog will complain about financial problems, which are his fault.

Suarez didn't score; it was an own goal. The defender kicked it against the post and it went in.

Bolton won at last though, 1-0 at home to Wolves, which is good, lucky late goal by new loan signing from Chelsea; Daniel Sturridge. One of their defenders, Ronald Zubar, played the ball accross his own penalty area and Sturridge swept in and scored, yay.

Nah, it was on target so it's classed as a deflection. His goal. Even if he didn't score it was a helluva impressive debut!

I have mixed feelings about Suárez yesterday.

It was good to see Suárez make an impressive debute with a goal (ball would've gone in the goal if Wilkinson didn't touch it, so no own goal). He is my favourite player ever and will always be that. He is a legend.

But I couldn't control my tears, Ajax will never see this legend again. Normally I never cry about football, but the transfer of a club legend like Suárez is horrible. Tears get in my eyes at this moment, because I am thinking about Suárez no longer playing for Ajax.

My tears and tears of other supporters would've been dried up a bit if Dries Mertens came, but the Ajax chairman (Rik van den Boog) prefers not spending money on players and buying a big house and a good car for himself. He is a corrupt man who ruined The Entertainment Group, a record company. He should be fired for not buying a replacement for Luis, and for many other horrible things he has done.

But clubs like SC Heerenveen are not helping either.

What do you all think about clubs asking 7M for a player that other clubs can pay 4M for, and has been bought for 3M and is sitting on the bench?

well you are correct about how absurd that Liverpool paid more money on Carroll than david villa but when you think about it Liverpool has done a fantastic job in the january transfer window.

torres is turning 27 this week (chelsea already have a squad with players a bit too old), is very injury prone and hasn't been playing well lately. considering the fact that he wanted to leave, keeping him at the club would prove to be disastrous to be honest. chelsea paid 50 million pounds for torres, and he is only worth about 30 million imo. with all of that excess of money coming in, we had to get a quality striker and andy carroll is the perfect fit really. so yea, you are right about 35 M being too much, but the real losers here are chelsea....

liverpool paid 7.5 million pounds for both suarez (23 y.o.) and carroll (22 y.o.), so you can definitely see why we are the winners here. two of the most promising strikers in the world on the same team here...

Carroll being more expensive than Suárez is ridiculous. Torres being worth 58M Euro is weird. I think he is overrated too. Never puts any effort in football, injury prone, I think Chelsea-fans will whine and complain about having a bad striker.
