I'm going to go on a rant with the horses here. I assumed that all horses were invincible in this game (like shadowmere and Marboral's horse in oblivion) but apparently only *SPOILER ALERT* Shadowmere is the only invincible horse (yes, she returns!!). Please tell me I'm not the only one who wasted my money on a horse and had it die like 5 seconds later in a dragon battle or some stupid shit like that. Also, I think it's pretty gay that you can't fight while riding a horse.
That is a horrible assumption to make. And while, yes, the horses do die quite quickly from falling damage, having them as all completely invincible would make there being more than one horse pretty obsolete. And Shadowmere isn't invincible, she just has huge health and regen rate.

Currently I'm in a bit of a bind as to what to do, and any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have the XBOX version of Skyrim which (all things considered) is not as good as the computer version because of the lack of the debug console. Is it worth it to get the game for PC now that I already have it on the XBOX (I'm level 10ish if it really comes down to how much effort has been put into it)

I read some where that a couple of in game days later Shadowmere respawns where she died, but I'm not sure if its true or not so don't take my word for it.

Yeah I find horses rather ineffective in this game, its more fun to go around killing things at will. Also if your riding a horse you miss out on killing deers and finding random herbs.

2. Its a guy in this game. I wouldn't point this out, but the person who gives it to you says it several times so.... whoop
It's not really certain whether Shadowmere is male or female. Astrid calls Shadowmere female, I believe, while the Spectral Assassin (the ghost of a former DB leader or something) calls Shadowmere male. Some people argue that Shadowmere is genderless, and in fact a daedra instead of an actual horse (supported by the fact that Shadowmere is summoned from some sort of black puddle of tar).

Now something off-topic, but still on Bethesda-stuff: I've been looking into buying a Fallout game, just to have a bit of diversity when I'm sick of swords and want guns instead. The newest titles are, obviously, FO3 and FO:NV. FO3 has better reviews on Metacritic (both critic as well as user score), but New Vegas is the newer one, so I'm not entirely sure which one to get. Anyone who played them (or any of them) and tell which would be better? Thanks :)

3, it's better in every way, and you can probably find the goty (with all dlc) edition dirt cheap now. though new vegas won't be really expensive so there's no reason not to get both if you can.

I've been reading up op some reviews, and apparently, the PS3 version of FO3 GOTY has a lot of problems with major freezes, bugs and glitches, so I probably will avoid it, though it looks like a very cool game. Gladly I'm not quite done in Skyrim though, so I'll stick with that for now. Thanks for the input though :)

This is sounding like deja vu, after putting 100hrs+ into Skyrim I wanted to try out a fallout game. I managed to pick up a pre-owned copy of New Vegas for £6 and new copy of Fallout3:GOTY for £13 so you can find them pretty cheap. I have to say both are great! NV is more quest based of the two where as FO3 is more focused on exploration (its made by the same team as Skyrim, unlike FO:NV) just depends on preference.

If you can afford to pick them both up as they're both great games.

Two letters. X. D.

Either way, anyone heard of the bug where you explore a dungeon and collect its important item(s) first, then go obtain a quest that requires those items, only to find the game doesn't register you as even having completed the quest? That happened at Frostflow lighthouse (3 hours of underleveled playtime, wasted >.<), so I just loaded an old save file and went on my merry way. I can't even remember who or where i got the quest from.

So I was going through the Alduin's Wall quest and I decided to go alone. I killed the Blood Dragon (yeah, by myself) and cleared out the camp and made it to the sky temple but after I go there I didn't know what to do. I know that I have to meet up with Esbern and Delphine somewhere around Karthspire but I don't know where to look. Can someone help me?

1. Shadowmere is not invincible in this game, it has insane regen but will die when you jump off a high cliff.

Well, it was female in Oblivion so I just assumed it wouldn't change this game. I guess Bethesda decided it needed a sex change LOL. I guess I'll have to pay more attention to the dialogue!

Anyways, does anyone know where I can find LOTS of skeevers?? I need more skeever tailes for alchemy. I already did the thieves guild quest with them, which is where I found the most by far.

Oh, and can anyone tell me which vendors (that will buy ANYTHING) have the most money?? I have a TON of stuff I need to sell but they just can't keep up. Most of the vendors I find don't have more than like 500 gold.

Keep doing the little misc jobs in the Thieves Guild for Delvin and Vex, and eventually the fences will have up to 4000 gold on them each.

Thanks for the tip. I have so many potions that I need to get rid of. Oh, and a word of advice to anyone who needs money. ALCHEMY!!! (I don't really need gold right now, but I'm trying to get the 100k achievement). Alchemy is such an easy skill to increase and you earn SO much by selling potions. I have found, however, that certain types of potions raise your skill more and net you much more gold. Invisibility potions will do both of these things. If you have a lot of chaurus eggs and luna moth wings, you can easily create lots of invisibility (and damage magicka) potions. There are other ingredients that do this, but I think those two ingredients are the easiest to find.

WATCH OUT FOR THE DEAD PEOPLE RANDOMLY SHOWING UP AT YOUR WEDDING.

Welp. When you get married, the game will randomly make 4 or 5 people you've helped/interacted attend your wedding. Including the ones who are dead. It hasn't happened to me, but in my brother's case, if decapitated J'zargo for making him look like a fool (those scrolls v_v) and he showed up at the wedding... as a headless torso :o (its been known to affect people who have had their companions accidentally die too!)

As an aside, this will also ruin the wedding since the game will count it as you "killing someone."

Dont buy New Vegas till February when the deluxe edition comes out. The extra-content is really needed to truly enjoy these kinds of games which is why I only rented Skyrim to play through it once. Fallout 3 GOTY edition and New Vegas or both a must buy in my book. Also a Fallout 4 is already in the works and it is probably using the same engine as Skyrim so they should be worth buying just for that reason as well.

I've always wondered. When you're making potions and things. How do you get the bottles? Do you make those with the ingredients too? xD.

Also if you want to play a Fallout game, play Fallout 3. New Vegas sucks.

as much as im loving Skyrim, i love Fallout 3 a little bit more... dunno what it is, its just a little bit more immersive to me

i dont think New Vegas sucks, but it was a little underwhemling compared to F3. New Vegas definitely has F3 beat in the ending department, at least imo

Do you know what extra content the Ultimate Edition offers? Because you can pick up a copy of New Vegas for $15 or so, while the Ultimate Editio probably will be $60 again. Is that extra content worth $45 more dollars?

Anyways, about the question I asked before (FO3 or FONV), I have decided I'll just get 'em both :)

also if you fast traveled there they could have not walked there yet.

The New Vegas w/ content edition is $50 starting price actually so it's like 35 dollars for 6 expansions+ raising the lvl cap by 15.Worth it? Probably. But the cheaper and just as good Fallout 3 GOTY Edition would say otherwise. I myself am a huge fan of New Vegas in terms of gameplay. The added feature to be able to actually aim down your sights (like in COD) makes the game stand out and is truly why it is preferred over FallOut 3. But if your looking for a better enviroment and story, Fall Out 3 is the way to go because the overall design of the world seems more apocalyptic than New Vegas' westerny feel, and the NPC's have more personality and are more cherishable.

So I want to buy a new xbox 360, my old one broke ages ago. Now I'm doing this because I want to skyrim and I own a mac.

The choices seem to be either a 4gig one or a 250gig one. First off those seem wildly different from one another. I've been told I can add more gigs to the lower one but I wanted your guys opinion.

Any help would be great!

bethesda just dropped some of the new features they hinted at in their game jam (watch this if you haven't)

the update is 1.5, and one of the features aside from a number of fixes is a whole new array of finishers, and kill cams for ranged and magic

i just lost another few weeks of my life to my love affair of bows, i guess

the trailer hling the new kill cams can be see here

I honestly don't think that the sum of that Game Jam is enough to make me want to play Skyrim. I haven't played it in like 2 months now because it's so terribly easy and it's pretty limited compared to Oblivion. Hopefully they release some DLC comparable to Shivering Isles because that's about all they can do to regain my entertainment considering that the biggest problems with the game are concerning the leveling system. Oh well
