[OVERVIEW]
Thanks to its excellent offensive typing, ability in Sheer Force, powerful STAB moves like Sludge Wave and Earth Power, and excellent coverage moves like Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Fire Blast, Nidoking is a very powerful wallbreaker. It can hit a large portion of the tier for super effective damage, checking plenty of Pokemon like Primarina, Aegislash, and Galarian Slowbro. Even though Nidoking is one of the most dangerous threats in the tier, its mediocre Speed tier and bulk mean it can't find many opportunities to wallbreak, mandating pivot support to get it onto the field safely. Nidoking also relies on its Life Orb to do massive damage, so it despises Knock Off from the likes of Nihilego and Mienshao. Its typing also doesn't benefit it much defensively, leaving it weak to common attacking types like Ground, Water, and Psychic from Pokemon like Krookodile, Keldeo, and Azelf. Furthermore, despite being a Ground-type, Nidoking doesn't provide a functional Electric immunity for its team, being outsped by Rotom-W, Rotom-H, and Thundurus-T and getting hit hard by their other moves. This lack of defensive utility makes it hard to justify over other Pokemon that share its Ground or Poison typing like Krookodile, Rhyperior, and Nihilego.

move 4: Ice Beam / Substitute

ability: Sheer Force
nature: Modest / Timid

[SET COMMENTS]

Sludge Wave is Nidoking's strongest STAB move, hitting Pokemon like Hatterene, Tangrowth, and Primarina super effectively, as well as discouraging Rotom-W and Rotom-H from switching in freely. Earth Power hits Steel- and Poison-types such as Jirachi, Aegislash, and Nihilego. Thunderbolt allows Nidoking to hit Flying-type Pokemon like Celesteela and reliably OHKO Pokemon like Gyarados and Mantine. Ice Beam can be used to OHKO opposing Ground-types like Krookodile, as well as OHKOing Salamence and Noivern, while Substitute makes Nidoking much less prediction reliant, giving it free turns against foes that it forces out like Nihilego, Tangrowth, and Aegislash. Fire Blast is also a solid option, giving Nidoking the ability to 2HKO Celesteela and OHKO Amoonguss after Stealth Rock, but its BoltBeam coverage already deals with both either way. A Modest nature should be run to increase Nidoking's damage output, since it doesn't miss out on any notable Speed benchmarks, though a Timid nature is an option to Speed tie with Kommo-o. Life Orb and Sheer Force pair together to negate the health loss of Life Orb while giving an effective 70% power boost, which is a big factor behind Nidoking's power.

Nidoking fits best on offensive teams that are able to bring it in many times to wallbreak and tear through defensive Pokemon like Amoonguss and Aegislash. As a result, pivots such as Rotom-W, Zarude, and Mienshao make for good partners. Mienshao comfortably beats Chansey, and Rotom-W lures in Tangrowth for Nidoking and OHKOes Krookodile. Chansey is also a great partner for Nidoking, providing pivot support while beating its common checks like Rotom-W and Starmie. Switch-ins to Psychic-, Ground-, and Water-type attacks like Jirachi, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss can be paired with Nidoking on bulkier teams. Jirachi also provides entry hazard support, allowing Nidoking to reliably KO Celesteela, and Healing Wish support to let it wallbreak even more. Tangrowth and Amoonguss are also able to handle Electric-types in the tier much better than Nidoking and can pivot into the likes of Lycanroc-D and Fighting-types excellently. Late-game cleaners like the aforementioned Mienshao and Lycanroc-D are great to break through Chansey, which Nidoking struggles against. Sticky Web support from Ribombee offsets Nidoking's average Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed and OHKO threats like Tentacruel and Lycanroc-D.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Stealth Rock can be run for role compression, but Nidoking doesn't provide the same utility as Rhyperior and Krookodile and is thus outclassed in this role. Superpower can be used to hit Chansey for solid damage on the switch, but it doesn't hit anything else, and doing enough damage requires either a nature change or heavy investment, which normally isn't worth it. While Nidoking's higher Attack might make a physical set worthwhile, it lacks the proper movepool, and most of its Sheer Force-boosted moves are special. Sucker Punch is an option to pick off the likes of Jirachi and Azelf as well as other revenge killers like Lycanroc-D, but forgoing coverage or added utility isn't great for Nidoking. Protect can used over Substitute to scout moves from Choice-locked foes and checks like Keldeo and Krookodile. While you forgo the additional power from Life Orb, a Choice Scarf set is a solid revenge killer while still being an effective wallbreaker.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Chansey**: Thanks to Chansey's tremendously high special bulk, it is able to switch into any of Nidoking's attacks and can proceed to whittle it down with Seismic Toss, set up Stealth Rock, or recover its HP with Soft-Boiled.

**Water-types**: Pokemon like Keldeo and Rotom-W outspeed and threaten Nidoking. Crawdaunt and Azumarill can both effectively revenge kill Nidoking thanks to Aqua Jet.

**Ground-types**: Pokemon like Krookodile and Zygarde-10% can comfortably revenge kill Nidoking, and Gastrodon can switch in relatively easily and threaten it.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types such as Reuniclus, Azelf, and Starmie can hit Nidoking super effectively with their STAB moves. Reuniclus is particularly threatening, as its Assault Vest lets it pivot into Nidoking and force it out.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Nidoking's excellent offensive typing combined with its ability Sheer Force and solid coverage turns it into a very powerful wallbreaker in the UnderUsed tier.
  • With powerful STAB moves in Sludge Wave and Earth Power, as well as great coverage options in Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Fire Blast, Nidoking is able to hit a large portion of the tier for super effective damage.
  • Thanks to it's typing, it's able to offensively check plenty of Pokemon like Primarina, Aegislash, Galarian Slowbro and Kommo-o while also being able to find a way in on Electric-type moves due to it's immunity.
  • Even though Nidoking is one of the most dangerous threats in tier, it's below average speed tier and bulk mean it can't switch into many attacks which mandates pivot support.
  • Nidoking also relies on it's item to do massive damage, so it despises taking Knock Off from the likes of Nihilego Krookodile or Mienshao, or Trick from Rotom-Wash or Gardevoir
  • It's typing also doesn't benefit it much defensively, being weak to common types like Ground, Water, Psychic and Ice. give specific examples of threats with these types that are common and talk about how them being common hinders nidoking's success
  • talk about the opportunity cost with running Nidoking, your ground or poison type has little defensive utility which makes it hard it justify on teams compared to other Pokemon like krookodile and nihilego.

  • Sludge Wave is Nidoking's strongest STAB move, which is able to hit Pokemon Fairy-types like Hatterene, Tangrowth, and Primarina super effectively. add how its nidoking's best option hurting pokemon like rotom-w and rotom-H
  • Earth Power it's secondary STAB move that hits Steel-types such as Jirachi and Aegislash, as well as Pokemon like Tentacruel, Nidoqueen and Nihilego.
  • Thunderbolt allows Nidoking to hit the Flying-type Pokemon that may want to switch in on Earth Power like Celesteela, Salamence and Thundurus these two get nuked by ice beam or sludge wave, mention how it can reliably OHKO pelipper, gyarados, and mantine instead.
  • Ice Beam can be used to hit other opposing Ground-types like Krookodile and Rhyperior, (rhyp takes a lot from earth power anyway) as well as OHKOing Salamence and Noivern.
  • Substitute makes Nidoking much less prediction reliant, allowing it to gain free turns to use moves one something that can't directly pressure it
  • talk about fire blast here and how it can reliably 2HKO Celesteela and nearly OHKO amoonguss, but the other coverage options are more useful
  • A Modest nature can be ran to hit opposing Pokemon much harder, whereas a Timid nature allows Nidoking to outspeed various threats like Gyarados, Buzzwole and Mamoswine, as well as (the thing is all of these run adamant, meaning nidoking with modest still outspeeds them since it has a higher speed tier. The reason modest is the preferred nature is that you dont miss out on any main speed tiers other than tying with Kommo-o. Make sure to say this here) speed tie with Kommo-o.
  • Life Orb and Sheer Force pair together to negate the health loss of Life Orb while still giving a 30% boost, and when paired with Sheer Force this gives an effective 60% boost, which is a big factor behind Nidoking's power

  • say what teams Nidoking best fits on. For example, it can be "Nidoking fits best on offensive teams that are able to bring it in many times to wallbreak"
  • Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Rotom-Wash, Zarude, Thundurus and Mienshao make for good partners with Nidoking, as they are able to pivot around and switch in Nidoking safely.
  • Faster threats like Keldeo, Zarude, Thundurus, Mienshao and Azelf can pair well with Nidoking, helping it break through, outspeed and check offensive teams that Nidoking usually struggles against.
  • Strong physical attackers like Buzzwole, Crawdaunt, Lycanroc-D and Kommo-o make great teammates for Nidoking, as they are able to break through Chansey, which Nidoking struggles against.
  • Switch-ins to Psychic, Ground and Water-type attacks like Celesteela, Amoonguss, Tangrowth, Zarude and Jirachi can be paired with Nidoking on bulkier teams, while Jirachi also adding hazard support.
there are too many examples in each bullet point, remove at least two from each of them for better readability and I will get specific later

Other Options
=============

  • Flamethrower can be used to hit Bug-types like Buzzwole, but it's use is very niche and is outclassed by the other coverage options. replaced with fire blast mention on the set
  • Superpower can be used to hit Chansey for solid damage on the switch, but doing enough damage require either a nature change or heavy investment, which normally isn't worth it.
  • While Nidoking's Attack is higher than it's Special Attack stat, which would make a physical set worthwhile, it lacks the proper movepool and most of its Sheer Force-boosted moves are special.
  • talk about super fang which is a decent niche that lets it whittle down special walls like Galarian Moltres
  • make a mention of stealth rock to be run for role compression but it is outclassed by other setters like rhyperior and krookodile
  • choice scarf should be mentioned

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Threats**: Faster threats such as Keldeo, Rotom-Wash, Krookodile, Lycanroc-D and Zygarde-10% can easily revenge kill Nidoking and slam it for super-effective damage this feels unnecessary really since most of the mons listed here fit under water or ground types. Cut it for now and if another checker wants to re-add it then they can

**Chansey**: Thanks to Chansey's tremendously high special bulk, it is able to switch into any of Nidoking's attacks and can proceed to whittle it down with Seismic Toss, set up Stealth Rock or recover it's HP with Soft-Boiled

**Water-types**: Pokemon like Keldeo and Rotom-W outspeed and threaten Nidoking. Gyarados can easily check Nidoking; however, none of them can switch into Nidoking for free as they fear Thunderbolt. (nidoking outspeeds adamant gyara which is the common set so I replaced it with the washer.) Also talk about azu and crawdaunt who can pick it off with priority.

make a point about ground-types, pokemon like krook, zydog, and gastrodon should be mentioned here

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types such as Reuniclus, Slowbro-Galar and Starmie can hit Nidoking super effectively with their STAB moves. Reuniclus is particularly threatening, since if it's given the opportunity to it may use Nidoking as setup bait. This isn't really true, its because Assault Vest lets it pivot in to nidoking and force it out. Reword to say this. Slowbro-Galar and Starmie do have to fear Earth Power and Thunderbolt respectively this is also unnecessary fluff

  • Nidoking fits best on offensive teams that are able to bring it in many times to wallbreak
  • Pivots such as Rotom-Wash, Zarude, Thundurus, and Mienshao make for good partners with Nidoking, as they are able to pivot around and switch in Nidoking safely. Mienshao comfortably beats Chansey, Thundurus is able to handle Keldeo and Starmie, Zarude checks Psychic- types who will switch into Sludge wave and Rotom-W lures in Tangrowth for Nidoking and OHKOs Krookodile
  • Chansey is also a great partner for Nidoking, being able to provide both entry hazard and pivot support in one while beating it's common checks like Keldeo, Rotom-W and Starmie Chansey is not a reliable Keldeo pivot remove.
  • Switch-ins to Psychic, Ground and Water-type attacks like Amoonguss, Tangrowth, and Jirachi can be paired with Nidoking on bulkier teams, while Jirachi also adding hazard support, allowing Nidoking to reliably KO Celesteela and Healing Wish support, letting it wallbreak even more I'd add a little more here on how these grasses deal with the elec-types in the tier better for king and more reliably pivot into Lycan and other Fighting-types.
  • Late game cleaners like Mienshao and Lycanroc-D make great teammates for Nidoking, as they are able to break through Chansey which Nidoking struggles against.
  • Sticky Web support from Ribombee and Araquanid is able to offset Nidoking's average speed tier, allowing it to outspeed and OHKO threats like Tentacruel and Lycanroc-D

  • Superpower can be used to hit Chansey for solid damage on the switch, but doing enough damage requires either a nature change or heavy investment, which normally isn't worth it. You should also note it doesn't hit anything else besides Chansey
  • While Nidoking's Attack is higher than it's Special Attack stat, which would make a physical set worthwhile, it lacks the proper movepool and most of its Sheer Force-boosted moves are special.
  • Super Fang is a solid niche choice, able to pressure common switch-ins and Special walls like Chansey and Galarian Moltres
  • Stealth Rock can be run for role compression, but it doesn't provide the same utility as Rhyperior and Krookodile and is thus outclassed by them. move this to the very top
  • While you forgo the additional power, a Choice Scarf set can be ran for solid speed control while still being able to be an effective wallbreaker
Mention Sucker Punch can pick off stuff like Jirachi and Azelf
Mention Protect as an option over Sub

**Chansey**: Thanks to Chansey's tremendously high special bulk, it is able to switch into any of Nidoking's attacks and can proceed to whittle it down with Seismic Toss, set up Stealth Rock, or recover it's HP with Soft-Boiled

**Water-types**: Pokemon like Keldeo and Rotom-W outspeed and threaten Nidoking. Crawdaunt and Azumarill can both effectively revenge kill Nidoking thanks to their access to powerful Aqua Jet's

**Ground-types** Pokemon like Krookodile and Zygarde-10% can comfortably revenge kill Nidoking, and Gastrodon can switch in relatively easily and threaten it.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types such as Reuniclus, Azelf, and Starmie can hit Nidoking super effectively with their STAB moves. Reuniclus is particularly threatening, as it's Assault Vest lets it pivot in to Nidoking and force it out.

Please double check to make sure you've implemented everything. Something else I noticed when I was looking over this, try to use "hit" less often in the future when talking about the damage something causes. Some examples are like how it deters switch-ins, how it deals super-effective damage, or even other words like "threaten", etc.

Also, Twilight highlighted it's like that so you could remove the apostrophe, I put them in bold in here so you could find them easier.

I red marked the Thundurus mentions since it was recently banned.

Nidoking's excellent offensive typing combined with its ability Sheer Force and solid coverage turns it into a very powerful wallbreaker in UU with powerful STAB moves in Sludge Wave and Earth Power, as well as great coverage options in Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Fire Blast, Nidoking is able to hit a large portion of the tier for super effective damage. Thanks to it's typing, it's able to offensively check plenty of Pokemon like Primarina, Aegislash, and Galarian Slowbro while also being able to find a way in on Electric-type moves due to its immunity. this isn't a good thing to mention for a couple reasons; none of the mons listed use any electric coverage, also nidoking is notoriously one of the worst Pokemon when it comes to being electric immunity for its team. It can't outspeed the rotom formes nor thundy-t and gets hit hard by their other moves. Even though Nidoking is one of the most dangerous threats in the tier, its mediocre speed tier and bulk mean it can't find many opportunities to wallbreak, mandating pivot support to get it onto the field safely. Nidoking also relies on it's item to do massive damage, so it despises taking Knock Off from the likes of Nihilego and Mienshao. It's typing also doesn't benefit it much defensively, being weak to common types like Ground, Water, and Psychic. This means that Pokemon like Keldeo, Azelf, and Krookodile are able to threaten it significantly. Its lack of defensive utility makes it hard to justify over other Pokemon that share it's Ground or Poison typing like Krookodile, Rhyperior and Nihilego.

add somewhere in the overview that it can't make good use of its electric-immunity for reasons ive already mentioned above

[SET COMMENTS]

Sludge Wave is Nidoking's strongest STAB move, which is able to hit Pokemon like Hatterene, Tangrowth, and Primarina super effectively, as well as it being the best option for damaging Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H. this should be more about how Sludge Wave keeps them from switching in freely Earth Power hits Steel-types such as Jirachi and Aegislash, as well as Pokemon like Tentacruel, Nidoqueen, and Nihilego. few too many examples here, I'd limit the mentions to Jirachi, Aegislash, and Nihilego since they're the most relevant Thunderbolt allows Nidoking to hit the Flying-type Pokemon that may want to switch in on Earth Power like Celesteela, and reliably OHKO Pokemon like Pelipper, Gyarados, and Mantine. Ice Beam can be used to OHKO hit other opposing Ground-types like Krookodile and Zygarde-10% as well as OHKOing Salamence and Noivern. You already "hit" Pokemon like Krookodile and Diggersby hard with Earth Power on the switch, so its important to distinguish that you do more than just hit them with ice beam, you murder them. Also Zygarde-10 is barely a switch to anything, let alone nidoking when earth power already does 94 percent minimum, so it's more likely gonna come and revenge kill you instead. Substitute makes Nidoking much less prediction reliant, allowing it to gain free turns damage opposing Pokemon that can't directly pressure it like Nihilego without Knock Off. this should be more about how it gets opportunities to setup against Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego, Tangrowth, and Aegislash. Fire Blast is also a solid option, giving Nidoking the ability to 2HKO Celesteela and nearly OHKO Amoonguss after Stealth Rock, be sure to account for stealth rock in cases like these where its pushing the OHKO but the other forms of coverage are more useful against the wide range of the metagame - with its BoltBeam coverage beating already deals with both either way. A Modest nature should be ran to increase Nidoking's damage output hit opposing Pokemon much harder, since Nidoking doesn't miss out on any notable speed, but a Timid nature allows Nidoking to speed tie with Kommo-o, with it being the only relevant speed tier to match this was something you missed from Monky's check. Stealth Rock can be run for role compression, but Nidoking doesn't provide the same utility as Rhyperior and Krookodile and is thus outclassed by them. While you forgo the additional power, a Choice Scarf set can be ran as a solid revenge killer while still being able to be an effective wallbreaker.

Reuniclus is particularly threatening, as its Assault Vest lets it pivot into Nidoking and force it out.

[OVERVIEW]
Thanks to its excellent offensive typing, ability in Sheer Force, powerful STAB moves like Sludge Wave and Earth Power, and excellent coverage moves like Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Fire Blast, Nidoking is a very powerful wallbreaker that is able to wallbreaker. It can hit a large portion of the tier for super effective damage, (AC) checking plenty of Pokemon like Primarina, Aegislash, and Galarian Slowbro. Its typing also doesn't benefit it much defensively, leaving it weak to common attacking types like Ground, Water, and Psychic from Pokemon like Krookodile, Keldeo, and Azelf, respectively. Furthermore, despite being a Ground-type, Nidoking doesn't provide a functional Electric immunity for its team, being outsped by both Rotom formes Rotom-W, Rotom-H, and Thundurus-T and getting hit hard by their other moves. This lack of defensive utility makes it hard to justify over other Pokemon that share its Ground or Poison typing like Krookodile, Rhyperior, and Nihilego.

[SET COMMENTS]

Sludge Wave is Nidoking's strongest STAB move, hitting Pokemon like Hatterene, Tangrowth, and Primarina super effectively, (AC) as well as discouraging Rotom-W and Rotom-H from switching in freely. Earth Power hits Steel- and Poison-types such as Jirachi, Aegislash, and Nihilego. Thunderbolt allows Nidoking to hit Flying-type Pokemon like Celesteela and reliably OHKO Pokemon like Gyarados and Mantine. Ice Beam can be used to OHKO opposing Ground-types like Krookodile, (AC) as well as OHKOing Salamence and Noivern, while Substitute is an option that makes Nidoking much less prediction reliant, allowing it to gain giving it free turns against foes that it forces out like Nihilego, Tangrowth, and Aegislash. Fire Blast is also a solid option, giving Nidoking the ability to 2HKO Celesteela and OHKO Amoonguss after Stealth Rock, but its BoltBeam coverage already deals with both either way. A Modest nature should be run to increase Nidoking's damage output, since Nidoking it doesn't miss out on any notable Speed benchmarks, though a Timid nature is an option to Speed tie with Kommo-o.

As a result, pivots such as Rotom-W, Zarude, and Mienshao make for good partners with Nidoking. Mienshao comfortably beats Chansey, and Rotom-W lures in Tangrowth for Nidoking and OHKOes Krookodile. Chansey is also a great partner for Nidoking, being able to provide providing pivot support while beating its common checks like Rotom-W and Starmie. Late-game cleaners like the aforementioned Mienshao and Lycanroc-D make great teammates for Nidoking, as they are able to are great to break through Chansey, which Nidoking struggles against. Sticky Web support from Ribombee is able to offset offsets Nidoking's average Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed and OHKO threats like Tentacruel and Lycanroc-D.
