True, but let's remember that this isn't Aang. This is "I do things MY way" Avatar Korra; she's not level-headed, even with her near loss of powers. She didn't have the teachings of Air Nomads at birth, like Aang did.

YES. Mako is bad news. :)
Oh I totally get that. I was an ardent korra supporter in season 1, but her actions in season 2 are completely inexcusable. I just can't stand her constant (borderline psychotic) outbursts; I get that her parents/village are in deep shit, but her abrasive attitude towards everyone around her is not doing her any favors. Jesus, her breakup with Mako at the police district was so damn cringeworthy, she was acting like a 5 year old who couldn't have her way. (said way involved illegally enlisting an army...shame on you Asami) I really dislike how they're trying to imply that their relationship isn't going to work out because of their respective job. Bullshit, it's not going to work out because you aren't treating your boyfriend with a shred of respect. I just hope she gets her shit together, I don't think take another one of her "episodes."

It just felt like Korra was a much better character in season 1. She has a hothead sure, but her portrayal was more nuanced. She didn't blow up at the slightest thing, and she was a lot nicer. You could actually take her side when she butt heads with Bei-fong or Tenzin. Hell, her stupid grandstanding as "THE AVATAR" was more "clumsy" than reckless if you ask me, and she actually learned from her mistakes. Too bad none of that factors into season 2, lol.

Mako prevents Korra from leading a rogue military force to a nation on the brink of civil war, in order to INCITE said civil war, and you have the balls to say MAKO is bad news?
Sorry, I'm an Asami fan... ;-;

But as PK Gaming laid it out, Korra is pretty much looney right now. And as you've pointed out, Mako did the right thing.

Like wtffffffff episode 6. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

Shit's getting real guys. Shit's getting real.

Man I was done with Korra's rash ass behavior when she threatened to murder that judge guy in front of her entire community. I was like shit Korra what the fuck is you doin that is a high ranking member of the fucking fuedal system you can't be doing shit like that at least not in public where everyone can hear you. And then she got ate by a fucking kraken. Now that's justice. Water Jehova or whatever is probably looking down on all this shit and being like "Good job Jehova you got through another day" while patting himself on the back.

Fucking Mako on the other hand is the shit. He can get any bitch he wants regardless of how vulnerable they may or may not feel. Dude is like the best Batman ever and his brother is a movie star so you just KNOW he's rolling in that sibling money.

I don't even know what the fuck Tenzen is up to dude is probably the Lord of the Lemurs by now breaking conch shells like it's nobody's business.

Overall I give this show a 7/10 it's perfect.

What a damn shame that the best character of the entire series' history has to turn out to be the bad guy. At least they finally stopped hinting about it...

Can I just say that Wan's arc is the single greatest thing in Avatar history. The way the writing team managed to tie Aang's encounter with the Lion Turtle into the foundation of the Avatar legacy was so pronounced that it felt like the Avatar universe's lore was written in chronological order. In addition, the level of sophistication put into the subtleties really shocked me. From things as simple as the changing of the art style to reflect the time period to the parallel between Wan and Aang learning 3 elements in a years time, I'm sure that there is a lot more hidden within this episode.

That being said, I was kind of surprised at how open ended and underused they left the number of Lion Turtles, were their more elements Wan never found, did they repeat elements, could they have tied in overlapping similarities (i.e. only one fire Lion-Turtle group can lightning bend)?

But wasn't bending suppose to originate from observing nature (water from the moon, fire from dragons, earth from moles, and air from bisons)? I liked the idea of people figuring bending out more than bending being given to them by lion turtles.

It makes sense, think about bending as this way. The lion turtles gave the people bending but that doesn't mean they were very good with it, some of the fire bending we see by the villagers they just sort of lob it, compared to Wan who mastered it from a dragon. The idea of 'learning' bending is more that they were given the skill first then encountered the original bender which helped them master it. History is a complicated thing so it's no surprise the lion turtles energybending people elements was not remembered compared to the creatures that taught them mastery. Bending over time became just a skill people had.

(wait does this mean korra could give a non-bender the power to bend as well? Probably not but it's an interesting idea)

Also cool another banished firebender that is really awesome isn't that a nice thing to happen.

When Wan was training with fire, he was with a dragon. So, I'm assuming that humans were given the elements by the lion turtles and then they mastered the elements by observing nature.

Reddit has some really nice input on this:

Though the Lion Turtles presented bending to humans, the proper usage and control of the element could only be learned from the original benders. You can clearly see that the people from the Fire Lion Turtle City were poor Firebenders, resorting to blunt force to overcome opponents. Wan only learned how to Firebend properly from the Dragons and thus became a true Firebender.

The legends of humans learning from Badgermoles, the Moon, Dragons and Sky Bison still hold. Humans would never have been able to control the gifts of the Lion Turtles without their guidance. The part played by the Lion Turtles may have been lost but what kind of legend stays pure for 10,000 years?

Fucking so amazing it hurts, guys. The art style was brilliant, Wan became this really likable and awesome character in about 45 minutes, and we found out how the Avatar works. If Raava is in control (when using the Avatar State) and is killed then the cycle cannot continue because Raava is dead, and she is the one with the ability to reincarnate. That also means I guess all the Avatars are Wan but he just has a clean slate every time he's killed. Which is odd to think that Aang is Wan when Korra is Wan but they've honestly have said this throughout the whole series so I don't know why it makes my mind burst.

There is a fan theory going around that all the animals in the show are hybrids because their ancestors were possessed by spirits similar to how the people became hybrids when the spirits possessed them.

This of course puts Bosco in an entirely new perspective.

All his blood is pure from the mutated hybrid bears :3

Aang is also Kyoshi the earthbending badass killer, they are all the same, ain't it something else?

The animal possession theory is interesting, but I don't feel it explains the lionturtles. The fact that Aang's was able to not even be sniffed out suggests they have some spiritual connection and power.

Debate on Reddit also seems to suggest that Raava can't actually die - but the effect of having the Avatar be killed during the Avatar State would lead to Raava disappearing for 10,000 years, which is nearly the same thing.

I'm afraid I can't take a 14 year old's opinion on which show is better seriously.

Korra is such a bitch... Lin Beifong has also been totally useless this season.

Wan's arc made this season. Sad that it's over...

I think Unalaq is gonna fuse with Vaatu during harmonic convergence to fight/kill Korra/Raava and consequently become a sort of evil avatar equivalent.
