Although King Krab might be a spoiled, immature Pokémon most of the time, when the rest of the team is in trouble, you can count on King Krab to... be a spoiled, immature Pokémon. However, he does possess a lot of strength, and he doesn't hesitate to use it if he's in trouble.

Silver_Lucario42 first found the Krabby living near a city sewer. He took pity on him and agreed to take care of him, but unbeknownst to the Trainer, the Water-type was already the king of the sewer: he had Trubbishes and Rattatas at his command. He doesn't outright resent Silver_Lucario42 for taking him from his domain, but he can refuse to obey him sometimes.

Flavor

The duelists enter the arena, each brandishing a gleaming Pokeball, and take positions at parallel boundaries. What was once handheld, is now airborne, as the two bicolored spheres soar to the center of the stadium and erupt into dazzling lights, revealing a pair of pugnacious monsters. A Delphox, holding its wand in a battle-ready orientation, opposes a Cryogonal, whose frozen form reflects the light produced by Delphox's flames as the creature itself levitates portentously.

Cryogonal extends its wispy tendrils, which change in hue to a pale orange as Cryogonal siphons the ambient heat from the arena, dropping the temperature by several degrees. Before any great or dangerous change can occur, though, Delphox produces a small sphere of polished garnet, which appears to house a lambent flame, and tosses the item at Cryogonal. The Ice-type greedily begins to absorb energy from the projectile, but it underestimates the intensity of the fire within and recoils in pain, breaking its focus; furthermore, the heat intake was such that Cryogonal's inner workings are impaired by an increase to the crystal's internal temperature.

As the stadium warms, Cryogonal turns aggressive, firing a beam of boreal energy at Delphox, who creates a blaze at the tip of its wand and deftly maneuvers the implement to block the attack, which dissipates harmlessly upon contact with the fire. Oddly, though, Delphox bears a pained grimace after nullifying the attack and seems to have sustained injuries of some sort, evidenced by its odd, slowed movements, which perplexes its assailant. The fox then limps adjacent to its opponent and quickly swipes at the smooth stone somehow grasped by Cryogonal, releasing the item from Cryogonal's clutches and damaging the holder with the force of the strike.

Distracted by the loss of its possession, Cryogonal doesn't notice the beginning of Delphox's next attack: the Fire-type sheathes its wand—though keeping one paw on the handle—and dashes toward Cryogonal; shortly before a potential collision, Delphox draws its weapon and executes a rising slash, drawing a trail of fire across the Cryogonal's face, then quickly retreats to its trainer's side. Hoping to defend itself from further assaults, Cryogonal shrouds itself in an obscuring snowfall, and when the frozen flurry clears, three identical Cryogonal are present; however, its usage of illusory defenses causes Cryogonal to ruminate upon its opponent's actions: Delphox usually utilize Fire-type moves, which were completely absent from combat; they certainly don't shy away from the cold; and, when Cryogonal was most recently attacked, the Ice-type felt three sharp claws rake over its form, rather than the unmistakable sensation of the flickering flames that are so potent against Pokemon of Cryogonal's typing. With these new revelations in mind, Cryogonal more closely examines its opponent, only to flinch in surprise as it suddenly views "Delphox" for what it truly is: a malicious Zoroark, which is seen only briefly before being withdrawn by its trainer, who hurls another Pokeball to replace the Dark-type.

Flavor

As the Pokeball ruptures, the real Delphox takes the stage with a flash of light and the smell of sulfur. The vulpine Pokemon immediately produces and tears into a special confection, leaving behind only the wrapper; within seconds of consumption, Delphox's body is cloaked by a vibrant aura. The item enhances Delphox's senses and reflexes, allowing it to detect which Cryogonal is not merely a trick and quickly parry an incoming attack, causing the icy attacker to falter.

Delphox makes an opportunity out of its foe's dropped guard by conjuring a flame at the tip of its wand and waving the implement in a wide arc, producing a wave of searing heat and dancing fire that washes over the trio of crystals, evaporating two and scorching the third. Cryogonal is considerably damaged by the blast, but it remains steadfast and firmly wraps its tendrils around Delphox, squeezing the fox so as to lock it into its current position. Not even when Delphox channels a threatening, coruscating light through its wand does Cryogonal loosen its hold, instead extending its appendages, constructing a slab of ice between the combatants, and tactically retreating to a safer distance without ending the constriction. Despite the threat posed by Cryogonal's vice-like grip, Delphox's concentration allows it to finish its spell, summoning a magical orb of undulating threads and casting forth the product into the atmosphere; less than five seconds have passed before the sunlight streaming into the arena intensifies to an oppressive level.

Flavor

Knowing well just how disadvantageous of a matchup Cryogonal is facing, Sliver_Lucario withdraws his Pokemon—allowing Delphox to a moment's breather and time to take a full breath—and sends in a Kingler, whose shiny carapace sparkles underneath the augmented sunlight as the brutal crustacean snaps its claws in a threatening manner. Quick as a flash, Delphox thrusts its wand above its head, where a beam of light bathes the stick as lightning does to a lightning rod, fueling Delphox's first attack: whipping its arm level to Kingler, Delphox unleashes a mighty stream of solar energy floods across Kingler's form, staggering the Water-type. Kingler's armored shell prevents it from being too damaged, though; the crab quickly recovers and wildly swings its larger pincer at Delphox, who is driven to the floor by the raw power of the strike; however, the harsh heat of the arena dries out Kingler's preferably moist body enough that it is unable to place all of its might behind the attack.

Erecting itself, Delphox aims to continue the battle, but is forced to reconsider when Kingler thrashes wildly, excavating large rocks from beneath the ground and flinging them into the sky. As the hail of stones begins to fall to the earth, Delphox twirls its wand 360 degrees in its hand, then rams the burning wood into its midsection, seemingly immolating itself as its physical form is transformed into a thick cloud of cinders, ash, and spectral fire, which disperses and passes over and through Kingler, who suffers persistent burns from the heated swarm. After Kingler tosses its final rock, the scattered, fiery waste coalesces behind the Pokemon, and, with a burst of orange flames, Delphox returns to the battle; however it underestimated the sheer quantity of boulders hurled by Kingler, and has the misfortune of reappearing directly beneath a small cluster, which pelts it severely.

Rocks continue to dash themselves against the battleground. A mass of meteoric proportions looms above Delphox, which forces the Mage to fire a beam of focused ultraviolet radiation to neutralize the threat, smashing the rocks to smithereens. However, this pressing matter has left Delphox unaware of its enemy's movements, which are made apparent as Kingler sweeps Delphox's legs with its pincer, toppling the fox. As Kingler advances toward the downed Fire-type, pincer raised in preparation, Delphox hastily gathers energy into its wand and attacks with a blast of sunlight, suppressing the majority of Kingler's strength by knocking the crab off balance, although the following hit from Kingler still deals respectable damage.

Flavor

Kingler's strategy revolves around patience. It is acutely aware of the beating it has suffered at the paws of its opponent, but the crab is confident that the tables will soon turn. Kingler is dreadfully low on health, but it still does not make an effort to attack, calmly staring down Delphox as the witch energizes its wand with the sun's radiance; according to Kingler's calculations, taking this last blow is the only thing left that it needs to win. However, in its hubris, the Water-type forgets a crucial detail: the burns inflicted upon it were not merely aesthetic, and the sudden reoccurrence of the pain they bring causes Kingler to reach the revelation that it really should have chosen a different plan. Flavor

Cryogonal once more takes the field, and, wishing to disable its opponent, conjures a rippling blob of water that is propelled towards Delphox. Floating serenely toward Delphox, the projectile bursts upon contact and washes over the wizard; unfortunately, Cryogonal failed to properly energize the liquid before attacking, and Delphox is almost unharmed by the move. The fox closes its eyes and focuses itself, producing a pale light from the tip of its stick as the ambient temperature begins to increase.

Delphox's eyelids snap open, revealing eyes transformed into luminescent, white orbs that shine with unbridled power. The Fire-type sweeps its wand in a arcing motion, igniting a trail of incinerating fire that tears through the area and envelops Cryogonal, eliminating its remaining stamina. The snowflake can no longer maintain its levitation and falls to the floor, unconscious, marking nightblitz42 as the victor.
