The Official "Complain about being beat by Seattle Defense" Thread

Reggie Bush hasn't been disappointing at all this season, though.

Ponder 58 yards, really? :/ Awfully reminiscent of that one McNabb game.

ehh, yeah, he's been pretty decent I suppose. He had one BEAST game and then a bunch of meh games other than that. He's definitely not on the level of failure Chris Johnson was having at least.

So do you guys only answer trade questions if its actually in one of the smogon leagues?

If you had a question we probably just missed it, and/or we likely didn't have a strong opinion either way.

Hoping AJ Green has a slow night tonight. Playing him/Cutler and I've got about a 35 point lead. AJ's averaging 21 ppg the past 5 weeks, and Cutler's averaged 14 ppg the whole season, so I'll probably be cutting it very close!

Haha, well no problems here, maybe once more people know who I am would help... lol.
Anyway I've got several IRL friends I consult but I figured here is as good as any place to ask advice. Especially if I'm not actually playing against you guys.

Also, lol Gronk making my win this week totally overkill. Hernandez got robbed

i've got a really weird trade offer here...

i get

tom brady
roddy white
santana moss
frank gore

for

matt schaub
shonn greene
reggie wayne
steve smith

at first glance, the obvious move is to auto-accept, but hear me out

QB
this is a 2QB league and i already have brees/ryan. brady is kind of overkill. brees already had his bye, ryan is on his bye right now... i mean, brady is obviously an upgrade as my QB3 over schaub, but whatever. hypothetically, i could swing one of my 3 top 8 QBs for a great RB or something, i guess.

WR
roddy white is obviously great, but i do already have julio jones on my team. i am leery of owning both of those guys, just because a bad atlanta game would possibly ruin two of my WR slots. but they are both top 10 WRs, so whatever. i do like reggie wayne a lot though, he's near the bottom half of the top 10, and steve smith has been a bit of a disappointment but he's yet to even score a TD. i feel like he's going to go off soon, if cam gets his head out of his ass. santana moss is pretty insignificant in this trade imo. i feel like i am losing out on the WR side of this.

RB
gore > greene for sure. gore did just bruise his ribs, but kendall hunter is on the waiver and i am slot 2 (slot 1 is inactive afaik).

what do you guys think? maybe i can renegotiate to take one of my WRs off the table and he can keep santana. i also have chris johnson and spiller (although i do want to hold on to him in case f-jax gets fucked again), perhaps i can replace greene with one of those two if that would make it more palatable for him.

i should mention that i am about to be 5-2 in this league, a game back of 1st.

I think you should do it simply because you can afford to hold those guys for a week or two while you shop them around.

Even if you "downgrade" by trading Brady/White for something like Harvin/Bryant (highly likely you'd need to swing them for 2 WRs if you're sending Wayne/Smith), this combo of trades would still benefit you greatly.

If you're mostly sure there is a market for these players, and you are willing to shop the guys you have, I think this trade is a no brainer.

Think of it this way: You're getting the better players. You're losing very little depth (after this week, Schaub is basically worthless; Ryan/Brees are almost guaranteed to not miss any games, so the only loss would be Smith/Wayne). You'll be in position to trade for another elite player without sacrificing much depth.

IMO try to trade Ryan. He's been great this season so far, but if he has another bad game next week his value's gonna go way down. Even if he does maintain his pace, if you trade him this week people will still probably treat him like a top-5 QB.

funny you suggest that, because there is an owner exactly like the one you described. owns harvin/bryant, his QBs are big ben/fitz/rivers. another one i'm looking at has marshall/nelson/lloyd/decker and is running stafford/cutler/ponder as his QBs. so yeah, there is definitely a market for a top QB, and hopefully i could get better than smith/wayne as my return.

i accepted the trade, now waiting on the league to approve. would not be surprised if it was shot down.

i think i'm going to try and trade julio instead of roddy. roddy's just more consistent and almost as likely to blow up as julio is.

another thing is that the falcons have one of the easiest remaining schedule for QBs and WRs. saints twice, panthers and lions in the fantasy playoffs....

Marvin Lewis is trying to be the next Mike Shanahan.

Lawfirm runs them all the way down inside the 10, so the obvious solution is to give it to Cedric Peerman for the TD run...

I was listening on the radio at that point, and they said the reason was because the Law Firm got the wind knocked out of him the play before.

I'm playing AJ Green, he had been shut out for the first half until I turned on the TV. The very next play was his 8 yard TD. Buzzkill.

Heath Miller touchdown gives me a bit more of a cushion in my other league. I'm up 28 with Miller, and they have Dalton and Wallace currently playing with Forte + the Lions D in the wings. The awkward thing is, I have Forte in my smogon league and while I already have the week sewn up, some points to help my horrible "points for" wouldn't go amiss. So here's hoping he hits 15-20 points and no more after that :)

Yes Green is pretty much always a safe bet regardless of matchup. He just so shifty and can nab passed balls out of the air like nobody's business. Oh and I've got him too, so there's that

barely managed to win by 4. I thought I lost on Thursday when I started Golden Tate vs. Frank Gore....Down 20-0 on Thursday = not good. Thankfully, the Ravens Defense decided to pick a great week to suck and get negative points :)

if nate burleson gets less than 9.02 points tomorrow night im putting my dick in zerowing's mouth at next year's nats for winning solely on aaron rodgers' shoulders

Do you guys think I should drop Mendenhall (out-ankle) for Rashad Jennings with MJD now out injured as well?

I'm already holding Greg Jennings as my 'injured potential' and I've already got Lynch, Ridley and Doug Martin. I've also got Josh Gordon off of waivers

Good news: I'm up by 56 pts
Bad news: My opponent has Megatron, Forte and Gould still to play

I do not feel safe at all :(

definitely wait til later today when we know how bad MJD's injury is. if he's out for an extended period of time, i'd do it. i would not be surprised if mendenhall falls into a timeshare.

The commissioner in my money league has had some really shitty luck this year.

Weeks 1&2, he played the highest scoring team of the week (by a pretty significant margin). Week 3 he lost a pretty close match (>10 points). Week 5, he lost a tied game to bench points. Week 6, when I played him, I scored only 61 points... and won because he only put up 47. He's lost Garcon and Nicks to injury, and Steven Jackson has been banged up for a few weeks.

The real kicker: His kicker this week was Jason Hanson. He was down by 2 points coming into Monday night, and the Lions are 4 minutes from being shut out.

haha, and the lions just got a TD so he can lose by 1 instead of 2. That's trollish right there, I feel for the guy.

Good news is I am no longer winless in any league, I finally picked up my first win in a random league this week. Went 4-1 with my four wins all over 125 pts so I hope this is a sign that I have turned the corner after my awful start and can make a run at the playoffs in a few of these leagues.
