Introduction:

There have been a lot of allegations towards webs lately ngl, that they’re trash, outclassed, too exploitable and inflexible. And I ain’t ngl, for a while I almost agreed, but deep down I knew there had to be a way to revitalize their viability and transform them from cheese to meta. I present to you: The Perfect Webs.

The Team:

IMG_4774.png

4x4 animal style (Araquanid) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Water Bubble
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Surf
- Bug Buzz
- Endeavor/Endure

Up first we have… the water spider? Look imma just be completely blunt, :Ribombee: is absolutely BOOTYCHEEKS rn as a webs setter, bro is unreliable, predictable, not flexible, exploitable, and can’t last more then two turns on the field. So, the solution is simple, cut it out for something usable. This is where my homie :Araquanid: comes in to fill the incredibly specific slot webs teams now require in this extremely hostile meta. Let’s start off with what u all came for: special attacks instead of physical attacks. Although :Araquanid: only has a special attack stat of 50, because of its busted ass Water Bubble ability, it still hits like a truck lmao, and most importantly, OHKOs anything that can deny webs in the tier since :Landorus-Therian: lives a Liquadtion due to Intimidate. Surf also lets you prevent :Glimmora: from getting t spikes up, and most importantly u still live a Power Gem at full. Bug Buzz is used to mainly hit :Samurott-Hisui:, :Ogerpon-Wellspring:, and :Hydrapple: for big damage since they resist Surf, and in the last slot, you can either go Endeavor for set up anti-leads like :Roaring_Moon: or Endure to take hits from powerful attackers like :Raging_Bolt: in order to get into Custap Berry range. Oh yeah and the defense evs are there to avoid being 2HKOd by non Black Glasses :Samurott-Hisui: in a pinch. Overall, a MUCH needed improvement over Midbombee that people haven’t really realized yet.

IMG_4524.png

Lebron’s legacy (Gholdengo) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Recover

If u wanna more in depth analysis on this set, go check out my other web rmts that I’ve made, but I’ll go ahead and give a quick rundown. Make It Rain is honestly not worth running in this meta tbh, as it hits pretty much nothing apart from :Primarina: and :Garganacl: and makes u super exploitable to pivoting. Because of this, I think Dazzling Gleam is overall better due to it pairing extremely well with Tera Fairy as a defensive typing and also hitting the bevy of Fighting, Dragon, and Dark types in the tier, most notably the tolitarian overlord of the tier :Kingambit:. Recover let’s u play mindgames with :Raging_Bolt: and :Kingambit: and allows you to do better against much more passive and defensive teams. Modest nature is used in order to help increase the chances of OHKOs on important threats such as :raging_bolt:, which can be a huge issue for this team if it decides to Tera. Overall a very standard pick.

IMG_4526.png

BBL glizzy (Glimmora) @ Power Herb
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rock Polish
- Meteor Beam
- Earth Power
- Dazzling Gleam

Like :Gholdengo: this is gonna be another standard rundown since I’ve used this set so often lol. Meteor Beam along with Toxic Debris is just so good on this team archetype, and has won me countless games. Dazzling Gleam helps beat dragons, and Tera Fairy not only boosts the power of Dazzling Gleam, but also allows this MF to beat :Kingambit: with Earth Power, which can also be used to take out :Heatran: if they don’t burn Tera to keep it alive. Toxic Debris synergizes very well with :Gholdengo: and allows for its teamates to beat bulky set up mons like :zamazenta: in an emergency. Although Rock Polish may seem unconventional, it’s here for an extremely good reason. For starters, it’s really the only way I can fit a speed boosting special attacker, which allows you to kill would be checks such as :landorus-therian:. It also gives you the benefit of setting up on Court Change :Cinderace: in emergency situations. Another classic set.

Kdot (Roaring Moon) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Knock Off
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake

Very standard set overall, Knock Off as the STAB move of choice for power and item removal for mons like :Corviknight:, Dragon Dance for set up, Acrobatics as a strong coverage move for mons like :Zamazenta: and :great_tusk:, and Earthquake for bulkier knock off resists or item-less mons like :raging_bolt: and :Kingambit:. The main different with this set from others however is it being Tera Ground. A lot of :zamazenta: tend to run Tera Steel or Fire, allowing them to live Acrobatics and OHKO back with Body Press. This is where Tera Ground Earthquake comes into play. If you predict the :zamazenta: burning Tera (which is easy af) you can cleanly OHKO and proceed to destroy the enemy team since :Raging_Bolt: also can’t revenge kill you with Thunderclap due to the Electric immunity. Overall very good tech I’d like to try on future teams.

IMG_4775.png

more usage then u (Great Tusk) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

Holy shit this dude is so good lmao. Unlike :zamazenta:, after further experimentation, :great_tusk: is much better for two main reasons; Rapid Spin and immediate power. With booster energy and Headlong Rush, you’re powerful right off the bat and can immediately start pressuring the opponent. Rapid Spin also allows you to remove hazards to keep :dragonite:’s Multiscale in tact and boost your speed to outspeed boots spammers like :dragapult:, :Weavile:, and :Darkrai:. Rapid Spin also allows you to remove Court Changed webs from webs’ no. 1 OPP :Cinderace: in emergency situations, although :araquanid: should allow you to do better then usual in that matchup. Speaking of :Weavile:, normally one of webs’ many former opps, Tera Ice not only allows you to boost Ice Spinner damage, but also set up on incoming ice moves and set up on them with Bulk Up to further boost damage. Very good Mon that patches some of your worst matchups.

IMG_4776.png

U-Nite Worldwide (Dragonite) @ Sky Plate
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Tera Blast
- Fire Punch

Arguably the magnum opus of this team, :dragonite: is mostly the reason why this team peaked so high lmao (btw shoutouts to the glizzy GOAT Ugaming for this set he a real one Fr). Tera Flying Tera Blast along with the Sharp Beak boosts absolutely obliterates would be :dragonite: checks like :Moltres:, :Dondozo:, and :Gliscor: after a Bragon Brance boost or two. The real kicker with this set tho is the choice to keep Extreme Speed, which catches a lot of chipped scarfers like :Enamorus: off guard and does big damage after some boosts. Fire Punch is chosen to hit the rise of steel types on balloons, most notably :Gholdengo: and :Kingambit:, because of course they all run Air Balloon now right why wouldn’t they. Finally, I’d like to close out this portion of the RMT with a poem:

If Ugaming has a million fans, I’m one of them. If Ugaming has ten fans, I’m one of them. If Ugaming has only one fan, I’m that fan. If Ugaming has no fans, that means I’m dead. If world against the Ugaming, then I am against the world. God bless the Trash House.

Ribombee slander in my RMT browsing? This is heresy!!!!!

But fr great team, I love that webs is becoming more and more diverse. Especially love the anti lead stuff with araq. Cuz it also stuffs crown and taxel weavile unlike ribom who gets murdered.

GOAT TEAM. Araq is such a better setter (I'll be stealing that araq set for any future webs teams I make), and the team just looks really great overall.
Though I do have to take points off not using sharp beak on d-nite, that's the better item smh

Btw it's araquanid not araquinid smh my head

With the unbanning of Kyurem, the shifting of the new meta, and me actually being good at the game for once and cracking 2000 elo, I’m making a quick update post about changes I’ve made to the team which will be linked below:

https://pokepast.es/7a4a9d3d769c3ab7

:Araquanid:- I’ve decided to replace Bug Buzz with Endure to help with anti lead mons like :roaring_moon: and :raging_bolt:, and also allowing you to run the broken Endeavor + Endure combo. And for those worried about :samurott-Hisui:, you still live two Ceaseless Edges and can retaliate with an Endeavor on the second turn.

:great_tusk:- after further experimentation this team really struggled with dealing with :Moltres: and :Zapdos:, which Head Smash over Bulk Up allows for :great_tusk: to OHKO both defensive variants of the bird duo. Head Smash is also great at dealing with other problematic mons like :ogerpon_wellspring: and :Kyurem: after webs are set up.

:Glimmora:- because :Araquanid: helps patch up the :cinderace: and sun matchup nicely, Rock Polish is no longer needed and can be dropped for the best move in the game Stealth Rocks, which we all know is good so I’m not gonna explain that one.

:Dragonite:- what ends up happening with Air Balloon mons like :Gholdengo: and :Kingambit: a lot of the time is that both :great_tusk: and :roaring_moon: often break them before :dragonite: even hits the field. As such, I’ve opted for Earthquake over Fire Punch instead to immediately threaten :raging_bolt: and :Kingambit: in a pinch.

:Gholdengo:- Changed Recover to Make It Rain since stall is becoming more rare now and it allows you to absolutely nail :Primarina: and :Garganacl:, although Recover can still have value against bulkier teams in general as well. Really up to personal preference.

Overall I’m very happy with how this team turned out and I’m excited to see how webs teams evolve with the introduction of a significantly better webs setter. Happy webbing!
