The Rising Kingdom of Sindria OU

The Rising Kingdom of Sindria OUStardand 5thOU

First of all I want to introduce myself, I'm new at the Smogon Forum World so be patient :P . I always want to make a good OU team within the Smogon parameters and here I am. That's enough to a introduction: first that you folks should know about my team is that Landorus-T is the main pokémon of it (that's why he's Sinbad, from Magi, get it?! Ok, I'll stop the jokes from here.) , the second is that he's not the only late-game sweeper ( Thundurus-T ) but the idea of using it came from the # 22 the Smog and I wanted to make a confortable team for his moveset. The last thing is that the raters don't need to feel locked because of the theme, you can say it without thinking of characters, just do like it would be if none of them had nicknames. To the team:

Sinbad (Landorus-T) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature ( + Atk / - Sp.Atk )
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
comment: You guys know him, in a different role, but you guys know him. He's main problem is Ice Shard (and some times strong Water-type STABs), once i get my Rock Polish I can sweep most teams (actually I'm not good in executing that plan in action) with Edge-Quake. I don't know if I should use the HP ICE over the SD, in paper it might work but in action is a bit different. I followed Shurtugal hint to change Musle Band for Leftovers, and it really works :D .

Pisti (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serenade Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 Sp.Def
Careful Nature ( + Sp.Def / - Sp.Atk )
- Stealth Rock
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Iron Head
comment: First I wanna say a special thanks to Leftiez for showing Jirachi, it was one of the better things I added to the team. She can set SR, bring some paralyz&wish and also stall for herself (paraflinch). But I never had the chance to use her against Tornadus.

Masrur (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature ( + Atk / - Sp.Atk )
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Rock Slide
comment: Following Leftiez again, I decided to use Terrakion as a revenge killer, he's almost the same, with only the Sacred Sword change for Rock Slide (to hit Flying-types more accurated).

Yamraiha (Latias) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature ( + Spe / - Atk )
- Draco Meteor
- Recover
- Psyshock
- Surf
comment: This was another Pokémon added to my team by you guys, she's very useful when there's no high Special Attacker or a Bulky Attacker or a pivot to take hits. Draco Meteor kills anything that really don't resist it, Psyshock hits Fighting-types and low Def. foes, Surf kills Fire, Ground and Rock - types.

Sharrkan (Thundurus-T) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 100 Spe
Modest Nature ( + Sp.Atk / - Atk )
- Agility
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [ICE]
- Focus Blast
comment: Thundurus helps to take out other faster pokémon with Agility (of course it also need a turn to set up), I changed for a more bulkier version with Espert Belt, 156 HP, Modest and Focus Blast (it worked better) .

Spartos (Starmie) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 8 Sp.Atk / 224 Spe
Timid Nature ( + Spe / - Atk )
- Surf
- Recover
- Psychock
- Rapid Spin
comment: My rapid spinner, you might think why I'm using Starmie, well because it is the fastest RS, I still can change Psychock or Recover to Shadow Ball or something to kill those Spin Blockers.

That's it! Hope you guys like it! To end this template I would like to already thank you that read it, and to remeber the raters that you don't need to feel locked because of the theme. Thanks for everyone that rated my team, I might had forget some name but if you comment my team, thank you.

Hey, there

Nice team. The problem with this is that team is braked by Mamoswine, in particular the sweep of Landorus-T and Thundurus-T, which are both destroyed by Ice Shard.
The best way to solve this problem without changing the team members is to Yache Berry> Muscle Band of Landorus-T in this way to resist an Ice Shard from Mamoswine and presumably having used Swords Dance, Earthquake and do kill him, so sidelined Mamoswine that is pretty much the greatest danger for the two genes, after Thundurus-T which would give Lum Berry Nasty Plot> Superpower, for it to become really devastating.
The tactic in practice is that Landorus-T Yache Berry kills Mamoswine and continues to attack as long as he remains alive, then enter Thundurus-T to finish what he had started Landorus-T, Lum Berry obviously need to be able to do even in the face statup for possible status and Nasty Plot for wanton special attack damage to large.

For Starmie would Scald> Surf, has less power but has the ability to burn an opponent when Pokemon attacks that when you apply is really useful, especially when you hit a Phisical Sweeper.
While Jellicent in my opinion has too much investment in special defense, in the sense that the special moves takes the already well Ferrothorn, right except Focus Blast and fight spam in general which Jellicent is immune, I would say, therefore, to move from the special defense evs 116 defense, to resist better physical moves, sticking Bold nature, while on Terrakion would give Quick Attack> X-Scissor, as with X-Scissor the only thing you could strike that comes to mind is that Celebi over to be little used, you can also hit effectively using Stone Edge. and then Quick Attack on Choice Band Terrakion acquires good power, to finish Pokemon scarfer opponent being KO, see Keldeo, Salamence, Thundurus-T for example.

Good luck!

Hey, cool team.

I really like this team and am surprised that it got only one rate, so here I am for another one. The synergy it has is very very cool, as I said before I really like it. However, I see some flaws that this team has, and hopefully my rate can help iron out those aftermentioned flaws. With that said, let's get to the rate. Alright, first up, I suggest running a Life Orb on Landorus-T over your current choice of Muscle Band. Even though Landorus-T already has high Attack and SD raises the power of those moves to sky high levels, Life Orb puts them over the top, grabbing 2HKO's on the most bulky walls in the tier. Up next, I would like to suggest running a spread of 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SpD on your Jellicent in place of your current one. The aftermentioned spread allows Jellicent to have maximum special bulk while the 36 Defense EV's are to assure that Starmie's Psyshock will never 2HKO. Moving forward, I would support the use of Lum Berry over the use of Magnet. Lum Berry helps against status, such as the always annoying Toxicstall. Staying on Thundurus-T, I would like to suggest running Nasty Plot and Focus Blast over your current selections of Agility and Superpower. Nasty Plot is an excellent choice here as it jacks up that Special Attack stat to sky high levels, while Focus Blast hits Tyranitar, Ferrothorn, and Heatran decently hard. Well, that's all I have to say for now. I hope my advice helped. Have fun and good luck in your future endeavours!

  • Jellicent
    : 248 HP / 56 Def / 116 Sp.Def / 88 Spe -> 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SpD

  • Magnet -> Lum Berry
  • Agility & Superpower -> Nasty Plot & Focus Blast

Hey!

I have a bit of some problems with your teammate choices and sets, but lets talk more about the team threats. Sun teams trample you -- imagine facing +2 LO Venusaur under the influence of sun. Double Dance ThundyT and RP Landorus look like they could sweep with a their respective boosts.

I would first replace Muscle Band for Leftovers. It's really needed to prevent SubSalac Terrakion from simply setting up (no burn on Jellicent and it dies to +2 Sedge after SR and Spikes, not to mention that Scald will put it into Salac range; bulky starmie is not nearly enough to OHKO since its weak.

Replace Shed Shell for Leftovers please. That bulk is much appreciated for tanking rain hits; Magnezone is not often used and you have LandyT (Which uses Magnezone as laughable set up bait ;]).

Please replace CB Rak in favor for SubSalac. The power difference is not that noticeable this meta anymore and you'd really appreciate the presence of a stall / late game sweeper.

Use Yache Berry on your ThundyT so you can check opposing ThundyT as well as RP Lando-I. I really see Jellicent useless when you only have one hazard (SR) and you already have a water type so why not replace Jellicent? Starmie is already checking Keldeo anyway. How about something like LO Latias. It's a decent check to sun and helps with both rain / tank fighting hits / stop DD DNite, ThundyT, and RP Lando-I. I would use the standard move set with 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe.

~ Good Luck ~

Hello,

Cool team you have here so props for it.

Looking at it, I see that Mamoswine can give to you some problem since you haven't switch into it and since it revenge-kills easily your main sweepers with Ice Shard, which are Landorus-T and Thundurus-T. Therefore, I suggest you use Bronzong replacing Ferrothorn because it has a similiar typing, it can put the Stealth Rock too and because it walls very well any version of Mamoswine. An EVs spread of 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD with a moveset of Hidden Power Ice, Gyro Ball, Earthquake and Stealth Rock with Sassy nature and with Leftovers should work fine on your team; another option can be use a DoubleScreen set to support your sweeper, in the paper it should work very well, so you can try it, an EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with a moveset of Reflect, Light Screen, Gyro Ball and Stealth Rock, with Sassy nature and with Light Clay works fine.

Then, you haven't a revenge-killer and that isn't very good because revenge-killers allow to deal threats such as Volcarona, Dragonite, Tornadus, Salamence and so on more easily, therefore I'd change Terrakion's set in a Choice Scarf one because Choice Scarf Terrakion is a really great revenge-killer and it can help you a lot against fast threats; accordingly I'd use Rock Slide replacing Sacret Sword which is useful when you don't want to miss, against Volcarona, Dragonite and Salamence for example. Another option can be use Sandstorm replacing Sacret Sword, which is really useful against rain and sun teams, because weather teams usually sacrificate their weather summoner when they are battling against a weatherless team, when they lose their weather summoner, you can use Sandstorm to change the weather and to win the game which you are playing more easily.

After that, I suggest you to change Thundurus-T's EV spread into 156 HP / 252 SAtk / 100 Spd because you only need 100 EVs in Spd to outspeed all the relavant threats after an Agility and because 156 allow you to setup more easily; more bulk is always useful anyway.

As last thing, I suggest you to follow all Mr. Green's suggestions about Landorus-T, Thundurus-T and Starmie because they are all really good, I'd also suggest you to follow Dr Ciel's advice about Jellicent and I'd add that I'd use Will-O-Wisp and Taunt replacing Shadow Ball and Toxic because they are simple better moves on Jellicent and they can help you in more chances than Toxic and Shadow Ball; Will-O-Wisp allows you to burn Scizor and Tyranitar which can Pursuit Jellicent (try to use Jellicent with 116 EVs on Speed to outspeed Choice Band Tyranitar with 104 EVs on Speed, which is the most common CB Tyranitar nowadays, to burn it before TTar Pursuits you) and Taunt is useful against slower pokèmon who have a recovery move such as Slowbro, Blissey, Quagsire, and Hippowdon.

Good luck!

Hi there.
It is a very interesting team, I can't really rate your team because it seems correct, but I see a weakness against Thundurus-T, you can't do anything if the opponent has Agility because Terrakion is OHKO by Focus Blast and Thundurus-T has Hidden Power Ice, then it can set up easily on your team, it can force Jellicent to switch, Landorus-T and Starmie also because it is stall and can not kill him with surf, you are very disadvantaged against Sun teams, you can tell me that you can counter Ninetales but it is wrong, because with the sun many pokemons can become dangerous, like Venusaur, you can't do anything against him because you hasn't Weather inducers and then because you can not counter his movepool (Hidden Power Fire/Solar Beam/Sleep Powder) It is the main set with chlorophyll you can't outspeed him, then he can come and finish your team easily, Venusaur doesn't die on Earthquake Landorus - T (252 + Atk Muscle Band Landorus - T Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Venusaur: 250-295 (75.00 - 89.76%) - guaranteed 2HKO) you have no priorities atk and the opponent can have Life Orb. I suggest you Latias LO on Jellicent, Latias is a very good pokemon for your team, it can come easily on Thundurus-T even with Hidden Power Ice for 2 reasons: it can kill him with Draco Meteor and it doesn't die on Hidden Power Ice + Latias has Recover, then it can come directly on Thundurus-t to see his set, if the opponent has Nasty plot it can outspeed him and kill him If the opponent has Agility it resist against Hidden Power Ice and kills him, and if the opponent directly uses HP Ice it can use Recover because the opponent is forced to switch to not lose a pokemon unnecessarily, then it is a very good counter against sun teams because it tank perfectly Venusaur (Hp fire/SolarBeam).

Now I see a big weakness against Reuniclus CM Bulk, you can't do anything against him too, after a Calm mind he 6-0'd you, I explains you: even if you have Terrakion@Choice Band with X-Scissor, Reuniclus has a very good bulk, then he's 2HKO and it can kill you after with psyshock or Focus Blast (252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 252 + Def Reuniclus)(: 226-266 (53.3 - 62.73%) - guaranteed 2HKO), then after a calm you can't kill it with Thundurus-T, Landorus-T can be a good pokemon against Reuniclus, but he will die too easily, it does not have Leftovers, the opponent can play well and weaken Landorus-T with Stealth Rock or attracting it with Pokémon like Jirachi/Heatran/Dragonite/Terrakion/Scizor... This isn't a great counter for Reuniclus in your team, and Jellicent can not do anything with Shadow ball because after a Calm mind Reuniclus is 4HKO by Shadow Ball (0 SpA Jellicent Shadow Ball vs. + 1 252 HP / 4 SpD Reuniclus: 116-138 (27.35 - 32.54%) - possible 4HKO) 5HKO with Leftovers.
I noticed a weakness against Tornadus, you have nothing to tank his Hurricanes correctly because Ferrothorn is 2HKO, Terrakion can't outspeed him and he's OHKO, Jellicent is 2HKO, Landorus-T also (252 SpA Choice Specs Tornadus Hidden Power Ice vs. 76 HP / 0 - SpD Landorus-T: 596-704 (249.69 - 299.00%) - guaranteed OHKO) Thundurus-T even with his electric type is 2HKO by Hurricane and you are forced to let a pokemon die to come after, then the opponent can switch and come after to continue, you'll be disadvantage, I suggest you Jirachi Specially Defensive on Ferrothorn, now that you have Latias, Ferrothorn is Useless for your team because he can tank Volt Switch of Rotom-W and can take a Will-O-Wisp without problem, while if Ferrothorn is burnt it becomes useless, and without the rain you can not counter Dragonite(Fire Punch/Sa) lamence(Fire Blast) /Latios(Hp Fire) with Ferrothorn, Jirachi it can easily counter Latios/Latias even with Hidden Power Fire, then for Dragonite and Salamence, you can put Landorus-T with intimidate, if the opponent uses outrage you can paralyze him with Jirachi;) and Jirachi has Wish to heal, then Jirachi can come easily on Tornadus-T because it very well tank Hurricane.

Then I suggest you put Terrakion in Choice Scarf, with this item you can Outspeed Volcarona@Hidden Power Ground because it violates your team easily, but you also can outspeed Dragonite/Salamence/Gyarados after a Dragon Dance, but mainly to Gyarados, which can be dangerous but you can kill it with Latias + Jirachi because the opponent is forced to use Bounce.

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Stealth Rock
- Wish
- Iron Head

Tl;dr
Jellicent--->Latias
Ferrothorn--->Jirachi
Terrakion--->Choice Scarf

Hope I Helped and Good Luck with your Team.

Hi there,

Interesting team, although there are some problems that need addressing. The main issue that has been brought up is the lack of a Choice Scarf user, although I don't think that's entirely essential given your team already has two speed boosting Pokemon in Thundurus-T and Landorus-T. To help against opposing Scarfers or faster Pokemon in general, I'd strongly advise running Thunder Wave over Gyro Ball on Ferrothorn. There's really nothing you might miss out on without Gyro Ball, that you wouldn't with Thunder Wave + Power Whip. The only real downside is hitting Kyurem-B, which isn't switching directly into Ferrothorn anyway. I think this will allow you to setup with your speed boosters a lot more consistently and make scarfers easier to play around, especially given the number of switches Ferrothorn makes.

Also like the others have mentioned, Mamoswine does look a little threatening. I'm not too sure what your current Jellicent set is accomplishing -- I've tried a mixed defensive set before and I had pretty bad results, as you're left with a pretty subpar bulky water that fails to wall Pokemon on either side of the spectrum. For a team with a fairly weak physical backbone, I think you'd do want to improve this problem. Consider running a Bold Nature with an EV spread of 248 HP / 200 Def / 60 Spe [mess around with the Speed EVs if you wish], which will help out your Mamoswine problem, while also giving you some form of backup for Swords Dance Scizor which looks pretty threatening if Starmie / Jellicent don't get a Scald burn, or if it comes in on Terrakion locked into the wrong move. I'd also consider dropping Toxic for Taunt aswell, as otherwise you're pretty much helpless against hazard setters like Ferrothorn and Skarmory and puts a lot less pressure on Starmie to spin against more defensively inclined teams.

For losing the status on Jellicent, you might have trouble with teams with strong defensive cores. With Terrakion being choiced and Thundurus-T / Starmie / Landorus-T being fairly weak on their own, both have trouble beating the other's counters. I'd strongly suggest trying out Toxic over Sacred Sword on Terrakion. It might sound weird at first, but I've tried it and it definitely works. A lot of Terrakion's main switch-ins really don't appreciate a Toxic [Jellicent, Slowbro, Hippowdon, Landorus-T], and it can turn them into setup fodder for Landorus-T, or limit the number of switch-ins to Terrakion. In general it just eases prediction, and in the long run it will wear down Terrakion's counters much faster and much more effectively.

Also regarding some of the points brought up about some of the items you're choosing for your team members are valid. I'd agree with the Leftovers suggestion for Landorus-T, as you can still bluff a bulkier set while using Leftovers, and definitely helps when you're trying to setup against stuff like Protect Leech Seed Ferrothorn and generally defensive Pokemon carrying an attacking move. Given that Landorus-T is already very bulky, it compensates for damage taken from priority, which is one of the few attempts your opponent will have to take down Landorus-T after a Rock Polish

Also on the topic of items, I'd consider changing Thundurus-T's item too. You could try out Expert Belt over Magnet, allowing you to hit harder with your coverage moves which. I'd also advocate the use of a Modest Nature aswell as an EV spread of 152 HP / 252 SAtk / 100 Spe, allowing you to outspeed everything relevant after an Agility, while you gain some bulk which may be useful when trying to setup. The extra power with Expert Belt and Modest Nature here is crucial, given that you're only carrying Stealth Rock on Ferrothorn to get prior damage on oncoming Pokemon. I'd also consider dropping Superpower for Focus Blast on Thundurus, as you can now break through Specially Defensive Tyranitar with the moveset change and you don't need to run a physical move to do so. The only other Pokemon you really miss out on hitting extra hard is Blissey, who is now shut down by Jellicent's Taunt [if you decide to go with it].

Good luck!
