Thrift Store Treasures

Ever find something really awesome in a thrift store like Salvation Army? I for one have found Digimon the Movie in MINT CONDITION, an R4 (!), a few Pikachu pillows (THE softest pillows you will EVER find), and a chicken net (which broke recently but was very useful) along with some other stuff.

I don't go to thrift stores very often but my mother's friend who she shares the rent with goes to Goodwill like every other day. He's found a bunch of cool shit, but unfortunately now our downstairs looks like an episode of Hoarders with all the CDs, stereos, DVDs, and cheap books.

I will say that I loooooove used game stores though. There's one near my house and I've found a bunch of neat stuff there. I found Persona 1 and 2:EP there once, but they were out of my price range and when I got the money they were long gone.

oh man, awesome thread. the last time I went to salvation army I found a super old school pokemon shirt, that I will take a picture of tomorrow just for this thread! otherwise, I found these awesome high-waisted black/white checkered pants for like $3, super retro.

I go thrifting every now and then, as the one near where I live is like a dumping ground for great vintage clothes. Finds include my leather biker jacket, many band tees, my Doc Martens, vintage Wayfarers and a few other goodies.

i always go into these kinds of stores looking for really nice (and hopefully not overpriced) fine bone china teacups/teapots/whatever but am usually disappointed. :/ i did find these quite cute blown glass figurine thingies for 50c each, and one time i was successful with my china hunt and found a nice floral dish for $1. i've also bought a decent number of ties from savemart for $3-5 each.

idk why but when you actually find something good in these shops it feels really good.

I went thrift storing in hopes of finding a cool old Gameboy or Pokémon Gameboy games and found nothing like that, there was a Guitar Hero relatively cheap but by then I realized that Guitar Hero is lame. However I returned to that same store before Hallowe'en to secure a suit and dress pants for my Richard Nixon costume and found some really nice pants and a double-breasted jacket for $7 and $4 respectively (€8.125)

Speaking of Euros, where are all the Europeans in this thread?
