Introduction

:tauros-paldea-blaze::tauros-paldea-blaze::tauros-paldea-blaze:

When Tauros was first introduced in the days of RBY, it was one of the scariest threats you could see on a team, firmly establishing itself as the best in the metagame. However, over the years the bull has grown old and tumbled down to the depths of the lowest tiers in the game. In Scarlet and Violet, Tauros finally received some much needed attention, gaining much needed regional forms, and I'm here to present why Tauros can finally brag to its retirement home friends that its still a top dog, just in a new and improved form. This team brought me out of the tilting 1500s all the way up to the 1900s, by far the highest i've ever been up the ladder. HUGE huge thanks go to builders Savouras and TheSergio235, this team would not exist without them.

Team Description

:SV/Tauros-Paldea-Blaze:

Tauros-Paldea-Blaze @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Raging Bull
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge

In a tier filled with OP threats and the highest caliber Pokemon, what does Tauros bring to the table? For starters, The fire-fighting typing combination is great offensively, hitting common mons like Kingambit, Gholdengo, Kyurem, Darkrai, etc. Equipped with a Choice Band, Tauros accelerates its already pretty good 110 attack into a very powerful attacker. Close Combat does Close Combat things, Raging Bull is a nice stab attack that breaks screens in case you face Ninetales-Alola, Flare Blitz is a nuke of an attack (especially when paired with Tera Fire) but due to the nature of the move you cant just endlessly spam it. Stone Edge is great for sniping incoming birds like Moltres. Tauros's ability Intimidate is also key, helping into impede physical threats like Roaring Moon and kill it back with a CC. Tauros's base 100 speed tier is very nice to hit, being able to outspeed Kyurem (!!) and threaten it out. Sidenote: i always lead this against kyurem just so it cant get its bullshit started.

:SV/Kingambit:

Kingambit (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Low Kick

Anyone who has even slightly touched the OU tier will be familiar with this guys face. Kingambit is one of the best late-game threats in the tier with Supreme Overlord boosts, this is a standard moveset using Low Kick > Iron head to hit opposing Gambits, Moons and Lus for big damage. Air Balloon helps gambit come in on the aforementioned Ting-Lus' EQ, and allows for greater late-game set up opportunities and to safely take care of threats like Dragonite or Roaring Moon. Gambit's natural typing is also quite useful defensively, helping combat against strong dragon type moves. Tera Grass is quite an unorthodox choice on Gambit, I've only seen it been used once before (aesf v yovan w1) but it allows it to take care of a boosted Ogerpon without having to play encore mindgames, while turning a weakness to Ground to a resistance. Feel free to change the tera if you wanna, nowadays it feels like all Ogers are 4 attacks w/ u-turn.

:SV/Ting-Lu:

Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 244 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Whirlwind
- Ruination

The GOAT special wall, phazer, hazard setter, you name it Lu can do it. This is a very standard set opting to choose Leftovers > HDB for recovery and this team doesnt have a Knock Off user so we cant really do any hazard stack stuff, the simple Stealth Rocks will do. Lu's ability to take special hits is very important to this team, otherwise we would get super fried by strong special attackers like Moth, Drag, Bolt. Theres nothing quite like it that can just basically 1v1 everything, with whirlwind phazing to stop set up mons and rack up hazard damage. EQ and Ruination are self explanatory, and with a 110 base attack (sidenote: since when lol) its attacks are not gonna bounce off. Whirlwind is also really useful against Subtect Kyurem. Tera Ghost is used to become an impromptu spinblocker and give an immunity to fighting.

:SV/Pecharunt:

Pecharunt @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Poison Puppeteer
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 228 Def / 28 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Malignant Chain
- Hex
- Parting Shot
- Recover

One of the best mons right now, Pecharunt's 88/160 physical bulk makes it the premiere Zamazenta check in the tier. Pecharunt also helps waste the Dauntless Shield boost, aiding our physical threats to crash through. This standard Pech set serves as a pivot that I use to come in on mons such as Zama, Oger and Valiant, with Parting Shot being one of the best momentum moves in the game, helping to deter any setup sweepers wanting to try breeze through the team. Malignant Chain + Poison Puppeteer is a super OP combo, spreading status and confusion on mons which can win you games from nowhere, especially when paired with Hex to do double damage. Recover is Recover. This team opts to use the more bulkier spread seen on Pechs, with 28 speed evs to outspeed Gambit. Tera Flying is used to become immune to grounds in a pinch.

:SV/Ogerpon-wellspring:

Ogerpon-Wellspring (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Ivy Cudgel
- Horn Leech
- Play Rough

Ogerpon-Wellspring helps add onto the physical offensive core of Tauros and Kingambit that we have so far, and with its SD set it can simply crash through teams with its great 120 Attack and 110 Speed tier. Ivy Cudgel is a no-brainer. A Tera'd Ogerpon is one of the most scary threats you can see on any team, with Ivy Cudgel reaching monstrous levels of power. Horn Leech helps add some longevity and some accuracy over the always missing Power Whip, being able to heal up HP back and still do big damage to mons like Primarina and Dondozo. Play Rough slots in as the last move on Ogerpon, with Fairy coverage helping to beat dragons like Bolt and Dragonite. Ogerpon, Tauros and Gambit form a strong attacking combo, helping break through for each other to win the game.

:SV/Great-tusk:

Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Temper Flare

A true team cannot be complete without the GOAT Tusk. Great Tusk provides much needed hazard removing capabilities with Rapid Spin, greatly helping our offensive threats, especially Tauros. Boots is the item of choice here so as to not get chipped down while spinning. Headlong Rush is self explanatory, working well to hit Pechs trying to spinblock. Ice Spinner is great coverage, being able to take the plentiful 4x ice weakness mons, such as Lando or Gliscor. The last moveslot belongs to Temper Flare, which is an extremely cool tech to snipe Air Balloon Gholdengos on stuff like webs teams. No one ever scouts for it so you can just spin first turn as they come in, then destroy with a 2x boosted temper flare.

Strong Special Attackers: As bulky as Ting-Lu is, it is really the only mon here that can safely switch on special attackers, and it does not want to get hit with stuff like a Blizzard from Kyurem or a Walking Wake Hydro Steam. This team is also not that fast so we have to be careful. In particular, I remember a game where my opp had a keld and i naively switched in ogerpon thinking it was the boots set only to get fkin killed by specs secret sword. So yea, dont get done like that. Try to limit the amount of turns these guys can get in with some offensive counterplay, teraing Lu early to get out of these weaknesses also seems viable. Subtect freeze dry can also cheese you if you get frozen on lu

Conclusion

Before i started using this team i was extremely tilted in 1500s, Tauros came out of the skies like an angel and brought me enlightenment. This team brought me the highest elo ive ever reached by FAR (previous was around 1800s) and now i have extreme respect for the brazen bull. If you've enjoyed reading this try out the team! It is actually quite solid and tauros has been putting in true work. Again, major thanks to Savouras and TheSergio235 for allowing me to rmt this. Check out his channel and especially this video where youll see tauros achieve its prime form. Also shoutout glass shadows. Anyway im off to go get lunch now, enjoy the team!

We waiting for your Infernape RMT g
Lowkey if you can actually setup a plot or SD it looks pretty nasty, the main struggle is actually getting to set up tho as Infernape isn’t exactly bulky, to put it lightly

I support an attempt at making it work tho

With tail dipped in hues so bright,
A canvas world, in pure delight,
Smeargle dances, light and free,
A painter's soul, for all to see.
Each flick and swirl, a vibrant stroke,
On walls and trees, a painted joke,
Or masterpiece, a grand design,
Where colors blend, and truly shine.
From Scarlet's blush to Sapphire's gleam,
A rainbow's dream, a flowing stream,
Of pigments caught, and deftly placed,
A moment's art, forever graced.
Sketching moves, with playful grace,
A living art, in every space,
He leaves his mark, a colorful sign,
Smeargle's art,
forever thine,
And that is why,
He is my sunshine.
