Tournament Banned
Introduction:

Wassup my fellow members of the agency, or the industry if ur quirky like that idk. So turns out there’s a glitch on the showdown ladder right now that lets you run :Volcarona: despite it being banned for a while now, so I’m here to share that information and provide the most optimal set and team to use it with.

Blunder, if you’re reading this, you are now legally obligated to showcase this team.

The Team:

IMG_4711.png

Totally Volcarona (Bellossom) (F) @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Chlorophyll
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fairy/Fire
EVs: 80 HP / 4 Def / 232 SpA / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Moonblast/Tera Blast
- Quiver Dance
- Strength Sap

Back and better then ever, :Bellossom:- I mean :Volcarona: provides some much needed speedy and special based set up for the team with its legendary Quiver Dance. For some reason, this glitched :Volcarona: also has access to the very broken healing move Strength Sap, which allows it to set up on would be counters like :Dragonite: and :Kingambit: if at enough health. Giga Drain allows it to deal massive damage thanks to the terrain boost along with a glitched STAB boost for some reason, while also staying healthy. For coverage, Tera Blast Fire allows for amazing special coverage and the ability to hit steels such as :Skarmory: and :Gholdengo: while still being able to chip :Slowking-Galar: for respectable damage, while Tera Fairy along with the newly learned Moonblast allow you to set up on and OHKO the many would be threatening Dragon types such as :Raging_Bolt:, :Roaring_Moon:, and :Gouging_Fire: in a pinch. Finally, because this :Volcarona: has slightly modified stat spread, it’s EVd to out-speed :Great_Tusk: after one Quiver Dance while also maintaining as much investment in Special Attack, HP, and Defense as possible. Overall, I’m EXETREMELY happy that :Volcarona: managed to find its way back to the tier, even if it is slightly mutated.

Rillaboom @ Terrain Extender
Ability: Grassy Surge
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Low Kick
- U-turn

Because the team needs something to activate Grassy Terrain for a long period of time, adding Terrain Extender :Rillaboom: seemed like the most obvious choice. It’s ev spread allows it to outspeed max speed modest :Primarina:, while also being slow enough to pivot around many common leads with U-turn, most noticeably :Landorus-Therian: and it’s common lead set. Knock Off allows it to threaten :Slowking-Galar: and get rid of those pesky Rocky Helmets on :Skarmory: and that one other fake metal bird, idk I forgot its name. Low Kick is the last coverage move in order to hit :Iron_Treads: and :Kingambit: for big damage. Finally, Tera Steel allows you to live poison attacks in a pinch. Very standard set overall.

Hawlucha @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Unburden
Tera Type: Flying/Ground
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 60 SpD / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Acrobatics
- Encore

Can’t have a Grassy Terrain team without an Unburden Grassy Seed user amr? With its lethal combination of STAB Acrobatics and Close Combat along with Encore to set up on mons that can take advantage of it like :Zamazenta:, after a Swords Dance boost, Hawlucha can tear through nearly the entire tier apart from :Dondozo: and Roar :Moltres: if you’re opponent hates fun. Tera Flying can be used to 2HKO offensive variants of :Gholdengo: after a boost as well as kill :Kingambit: after it burns Tera, while Tera Ground can be used to turn the once threatening :Raging_Bolt: into set up fodder. Overall, a nearly required Mon on all terrain hyper offense teams.

Glimmora @ Focus Sash
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Mortal Spin
- Dazzling Gleam
- Mud Shot
- Stealth Rock

This is where the real innovation comes in on this team. A set designed by the GOAT himself UGaming, this :Glimmora: flips the matchup on other lead :Glimmora: with Mud Shot, while also still being able to provide speed control for the likes of any :Gholdengo: attempting to switch in on it. Dazzling Gleam allows you to kill offensive :Great_Tusk: after a Mud Shot, as well as to prevent you from being set up fodder for :Roaring_Moon: leads. Mortal Spin along with Stealth Rocks and Toxic Debris make for a very lethal hazard stacking combination if the opponent isn’t packing a grounded Poison type, and Tera Ghost allows you to keep up those hazards in order to support you’re sweepers in the back. Overall, very happy with this set and I would encourage others to use it on their own respective hyper offense teams.

Hatterene @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Water/Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Draining Kiss
- Stored Power
- Nuzzle

With access to Grassy Seed to boost its already good defenses thanks to the terrain, :Hatterene: is able to go from an okay set up sweeper to an absolute monster if the opponent isn’t ready for it. With Stored Power, you’re able to nail :Clodsire: and :Blissey: for huge damage and OHKO most :Slowking-Galar: after three Calm Mind boosts, and Draining Kiss makes extremely tough to take down. Nuzzle is opted over Mystical Fire in order to slow threats such as :Gholdengo: and :Kingambit:, since you’re not outspeeding them anyway, and crippling them is usually preferable for later encounters. Tera Water is used to take clutch Iron Heads and Make It Rains if you end up getting a lot of boosts, since the only thing that can revenge kill u at that point is another :Rillaboom:, while Tera Steel lets you indefinitely set up on :Slowking-Galar: at the cost of taking super effective damage from the many ground types of the tier. Very underrated pick for HO that helps with a lot of the team’s mad matchups.

Roaring Moon @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Knock Off
- Acrobatics
- Brick Break

The classic Roaring Moon set with Tera Flying to boost the power of Acrobatics and resist fighting moves from threats like :zamazenta: in a pinch. After running Earthquake for a while, I have come to the conclusion that Brick Break is overall better since it isn’t halved in damage by your own Grassy Terrain and allows you to pick up suprise kills on :Kingambit: players. Knock Off is the dark STAB of choice for big damage and to get rid of Rocky Helmets from :Skarmory: and :corviknight:. Overall, a good ol’ reliable Mon for HO teams.
