thank you lei for the amazing art!

Welcome to the third edition of Tours Plaza Classic! The heart and soul of this tournament revolves around custom formats that are created by messing around with rules, clauses, bans, unbans, mods and even mashups between two OMs.

Tournament Rules:
  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • A guide to scheduling can be found here.
  • All rounds will be played in Best of three, single elimination format apart from finals which will be best of five.
  • This is a single elimination tournament.
  • Games will be played in one custom format announced at the beginning of each round. However, do note that semifinals will be played in three different formats and finals will be played in five different formats.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will not take into effect in that round.
  • Replays are mandatory. Matches without a replay will not count as completed.
  • If no replays are posted, your game will be coin flipped.
  • Do not make baseless activity posts, get in contact with your opponent and report missed times / scheduling issues only.
  • Substitutes will be allowed until Round 2.
  • The winner of this tournament receives the Room Prize Winner (^) rank in Tours Plaza.

BasedWhat vs Mossy Sandwich - BasedWhat has had an..interesting tour to say the least. I mean still, kudos for him for making this far, but it certainly has been a wild ride. Meanwhile Mossy has a better grasp of the plaza tiers and comparatively speaking, is better as a player, so 100% going for Mossy.

1) Yes we'll roll with it
2) You don't have to have the same exact team and that's what makes it interesting imo. You have to have the same 10 pokemons, but apart from that you can change sets and abilities from one game to the other!

I have never seen such a bad set before. All of these games were awfully luck-based, not to mention the format feels very bad to build and play for. Good games BasedWhat? out of respect, but I wish this could've gone down differently.
No worries at all

Thanks for hosting; by the way, the challenge code appears to have needed a slight reworking for games to start. I saw https://prnt.sc/2KbigX_JYKbC until Mossy figured it out. Best of luck the rest of you!

Note: I agree though that the OMs picked were consistently awful. Regular OU just with Megas so Stall + Rain are the only viable options? Godly Gift with more, unchecked Stall and cracked HO? 350 Cup where nothing breaks Stall (https://pokepast.es/a6d3714bc1f1078e or another variant)? MonoCamo where maybe 2, 3, MAYBE 4 types are possibly viable at serious, competitive level? I don't even need to explain the crutch AV Regen Magearna was this week. I understand it's hard for hosts to know upfront what tiers will be solved by a handful of mons, but I think some of these by inspection were going to be bad patches.
