The PenUltimate week for the Ultimate Meme Tournament is here as TPP continues through its 6th Week!

Format :

Our 8 preeminent teams will compete in a straight round-robin tournament, and every team will get to play against every other team. At the end of the round-robin, the top four teams will move on to our series semi-finals, where the #1 seed will take on the #4 seed, and #2 will take on the #3 seed, to determine our grand finalists. A win will be worth 2 points, a draw 1, and a loss 0.

Note : Every player on the team must play once in the 7 weeks of round-robin.

RULES

Sportsmanship: Don't be an ass. Not to your opponents, not to your team, not on PS, not on Smogon, not to me. A bit of friendly banter is ok, but please know where to draw the line. Think before you type, please.

Scheduling and Activity Wins: Contact your opponent as quickly as possible on their Smogon wall, and look out for them on PS. You will have one week from the posting of the week's matches to get it done, and I will not be granting any extensions for any reasons. If your opponent is not responding to your post on their wall, cannot be found on PS, or miss multiple scheduled times, make a detailed activity post in the thread letting me know why you deserve the win. No activity post means no activity call. As long as you have visible attempts at scheduling (such as wall posts), you will be fine.

Disconnections and Timer: A timer loss is a loss. No if's, and's, or but's about it. If your opponent is nice enough to replay that's fine, but they are by no means obligated to.

Ghosting and Identity: Don't take or give battle advice or make moves based solely on the suggestions of others, and don't pretend to be someone else in order to play as them. You will be caught, and you will be disqualified from this season as well as future PS! tournaments (BLT, PSPL, etc.).

Substitutions: Managers are free to substitute out inactive players at any point during the week with any subs they chose during the draft. Be sure to post in the thread when making a substitution.

Gen 8 Doubles NU: Zoaw vs Shadowmonstr7 - Shadowmonstr7 has been consistent all tour long, though all their teams have looked pretty much the same. If Zoaw can win this in the builder they should have a chance but even then, actually playing would be a challenge.

Gen 8 Doubles NU: SingleThunder vs Surfy - I think last week was the Impostors DNU's first win, and though tbh while I personally don't like their team I think it does match well into the meta by exploiting Thwackey and Kommo-o; this is exactly what happened as their match-up was one that even my dog could never lose. Surfy, meanwhile, clicked Tailwind when there was still going to be 2 turns of Trick Room left. I had to use all my willpower and go against my principles to still give him the bold after that, though it helps that for some reason SingleThunder is playing instead of Drivetacos, who's actually won a game. Last week's gaffe aside, Surfy has been performing quite fine.

Gen 8 Doubles NU: queso vs LTG - queso hasn't had a good tour, though I can't even blame them for last week as I think they just straight up got hit with the Mazar bot. LTG played well last week except for a turn or two and was a roll away from taking it. I think this is quite close, and I'll have to give LTG a bit of an edge; queso's teams are fine and I think all they have to do is make sure they can execute, while LTG just has to make sure they're solid in the builder.

Gen 8 National Dex Same Six : shiloh(45) vs Trade(55) : Two great same 6 players, who wins depends on how they play with jellicent, darm and aero, predicting scald and going to shuckle/illumise, or predicting will-o-wisp and offensively switching to darmanitan(sorry idk more about how s6 works, just my understanding on it), Trade is a great player and I dont really know who's shiloh so I go for trade here.

Bouncing Bounsweets (5) vs Deerling in the Franxx (3)

Gen 8 STABmons + Almost Any Ability : Don Vascus vs Ax - These players have done well so far, both coming off a win, with Ax more impressively beating 23Gz. Don is a great player in staaab, but he can be a bit inconsistent, and I think Ax is actually the more consistent of the 2. I see this going either way but I think ax is generally the better player, and will probably win. Watch out don, you're about to get axed.
Gen 8 STABmons + Mix and Mega : WMAR vs DerpyBoi - Wmar has been doing extremely well, currently being 4-1 while derpy has a less impressive but still good 3-2. As the records show, wmar has performed better, and I think he's the better player here, and derpy is good but... I haven't been that impressed by his games tbh. The same goes for consistency, wmar seems to be better in that regard too. Because of this, I'm picking wmar, he's honestly kind of a goat in this tier.
Bring 10 Pick 6 Random Battles w/ Dynamax : i want a lamp vs saba - Lamp is one of the few players who has played every week so far and is still undefeated, now that's damn impressive. While saba on the other hand had a rather disappointing 2 game loss vs snorlax. I know he experienced some hax... But those games were generally not played too well. Sorry saba but after last week, and the fact that lamp has had one of the best, if not the best performance in the tour, I can't see lamp losing here, time for him to go from 5-0 to 6-0.
Best of 3 No Team Preview Gen 6 /7/ 8 OU : Splash vs Vaboh - This is an interesting match, splash started out strong and hasn't been doing too well lately, while its the opposite for vaboh, who started our rocky and is starting to pick up momentum, splash coming off a loss vs star and vaboh coming off a win vs trade. They've also had similar performances so far being 2-3 each. However, I feel splash's games made more of a splash than vaboh's, and there's also the fact that despite playing every week, vaboh played the first 2 weeks in rands. I believe splash is a bit better here, and he's definitely more experienced, so while I can see vaboh winning this, seeing as he's picking up momentum, I'll favor splash to win here.
CaMonotype : PA vs StitChuu - Ok, I know Stitch beating Euphonos last week was the biggest upset of the week and maybe even the entire tour, but stitch had a good type mu and Euph brought a bad ice type team, so while stitch beat Euph, idt it proves too much. On the other hand, pa doesn't have much to prove, as he's currently 3-1 and has faced some really tough opponents. Considering the opponents he faced, I'd say its pretty impressive that he has this record, and stitch will probably be his weakest oppo yet. Pa has played 4/5 weeks, has been very consistent, and in generally better here so Pa should win this (and stitch won't get to likewhore).
Gen 8 Doubles NU : Zoaw vs Shadowmonstr7 - Similar to what I was talking about above, shadow has a record of 3-1 and has played 4/5 weeks, the only difference is that his opponents weren't as impressive. Zoaw has definitely shown in the past that he can be strong in doubles, so I wouldn't sleep on him, but he's inconsistent. Shadow on the other hand is, and has been very consistent during this tour with solid play each week, having only lost to surfy. Shadow is also quite a bit more experienced in doubles than zoaw, so with that and the other aforementioned reasons, zoaw will get banished to the shadow realm.
Gen 8 National Dex Ubers w/ No Obtainable Formes : Kate vs Lasen - Hl match. I hear Lasen's supposed to be pretty damn good, but we unfortunately never got to see more of him after his loss vs fc, while kate has played 4/5 weeks and is 3-1 (gee that kinda sounds familiar now) with impressive performances all around. I definitely see it possible for lasen to win, they're supposed to be really good but I'll favor kate due to how well they've been doing in this tier.
Gen 8 National Dex Same Six : Sificon vs cy - Since I pronounce it like "sci-fi-con", seeing sificon vs cy feels extra weird. Both players have played at least 2 tiers now, and neither has had the best performance so far. Cy purely played camomono before last week, and they weren't bad at it, but the pool was stacked. Meanwhile, sifi has played 3 tiers and earned himself a 2-2 record so far. Imo, cy's games stood out to me more, even in defeat, I think he is the better player of these 2. That and the fact cy came off a nice win vs axel in this tier last week (while sifi played memoric in dnu) gives me reason to believe he's gonna turn that negative record into a neutral record after a rough first few weeks in camomono.

Full Moon Frosmoths (5) vs Bannedorus Therians (3) (Had to redo this entire section due to the lineup mishap, part of why these predicts are late)

Gen 8 STABmons + Almost Any Ability : Akashi vs Eggs - Two players with equally underwhelming performances of 1-3. Jeran has shown that he can play snm well, but just couldn't hold a candle to the omm players for the most part, and eggs was slotted into 3 different tiers. Interesting to see Jeran in staaabmons now, but that's a new meta to get used to now, after not having much success in the first stab related tier. Eggs on the other hand, while he hasn't had much success in any of the tiers he was slotted in, he has more experience in general omms. I wouldn't be surprised if jeran can adapt to this meta well, but I'm gonna pick eggs here cause he's an omm player and Jeran, as I mentioned, usually loses vs actual omm players.
Gen 8 STABmons + Mix and Mega : TectonicDestroyer vs emillight - Interestingly, both players have only played twice, though one has had a pretty dominant 2 game performance, while the other not so much. Emillight was slotted into snm twice and won both times with pretty good wins at that, showing that despite not exactly being an omm player or having much of a presence in that room, they got the knowledge and prowess to adapt and play this tier well. Tect on the other hand hasn't even been slotted into this yet, only staaab and camomono. Comparing performances, seeing has emi has 2 wins and tect is 1-1 with hardly showing us anything good so far, emillight should take this, and the tectonic destroyer won't destroy a single tectonic plate in the face of emi's light.
Bring 10 Pick 6 Random Battles w/ Dynamax : trace vs RICEMAN - Trace may not have had the best performance so far, but at least he's in the tier he can take some wins in, while rice... Riceman really out here trying new tiers, first dnu and now this. I know rice is out and he's just trying to have fun, and I ain't judging him for that, I'm just saying I think he should stick to staaab if he wants to win more. Trace can play rands pretty well, and thus will probably win.
Best of 3 No Team Preview Gen 6 /7/ 8 OU : Stareal vs RaJ.Shoot - We all know star as an ou goat, who's very experienced and extremely good in the tier. His performance so far hasn't been the best, experiencing some hax along the way, but he's been slowly buy surely coming back. Raj is capable of playing ou well, but I don't see him winning against an ou star like star, even if said star seems a bit washed up in this tour. Star is better and should win, finally getting a neutral record.

Gen 8 Doubles NU : Memoric vs Crunchman - Nvm, hl match!! Perhaps the biggest hl match of the week between the 2 best doubles players in the tour who are BOTH undefeated rn. Both have shown great prowess in the tier so far, although comparing their games, I think memoric has shown better team choice and overall play. I could def see crunch taking it, but he'll need to land a critical hit with crunch. I'm giving memoric the edge as idt I can bold against this dnu goat after everything I've seen so far.
Gen 8 National Dex Ubers w/ No Obtainable Formes : frostyicelad vs 7u9i2 - Poor 7u9i2 has one of the worst records in all of tpp... but I hope he'll finally earn that long awaited first win here, given idt his opponent knows much of anything about ubers. Frosty hasn't really played much during this tour either, having only played 3 times and in 2 tiers that aren't this one. Despite his performance so far, 7u9i2 is still an ubers main who has shown some good play in the past, so I think this will be the time he finally gets a win, assuming he doesn't get robbed like last week.
Gen 8 National Dex Same Six : 100%GXE vs TheFranklin - Another hl match! Both are very solid and versatile players who've done decently so far, coming off wins. Gxe may be gxe but arce has been doing pretty good himself, taking an unexpected win vs tony last week. However comparing what matters most in same six: building creativity and play, I think gxe outshines arce in both. I think this should be good, but I'll say gxe goat will win here.

Coincidentally, both players 23Gz lost to had usernames that started with A, could this be a curse that causes 23Gz to lose only to people with usernames starting with A? If that's the case, it wouldn't be the only curse they're afflicted with. They probably share the collective curse of almost every staaab player to ever staaab that causes you to lose to tnm. 23Gz is a good staaab player, but lets face it, can anyone beat tnm in this tour...?

However, comparing the two, I think icemaster's style/teams have varied a bit more in his games, and he's also more experienced in this tier. I expect a good game from this, and I think it could go either way, but as the "master" in ice's name suggests, he is more experienced and thus I'll favor him here. Although this is one of those cases in which my mind says ice but my gut says placu.

Best of 3 No Team Preview Gen 6 /7/ 8 OU : crying vs Drud - This is a match between 2 people who've barely played all tour. Drud played twice, and while I heard he isn't an ou main, he did beat star, and crying beat splash, both beat pretty solid players when they did play. However, unlike drud, crying has a history of playing ou very solidly in other tours, and while they haven't shown what they can do here, they definitely have in the past. I haven't seen enough of drud to say if he's solid or not, so I'm gonna say he'll be the one crying by the end of this series.
CaMonotype : Karl Dude Guy vs Euphonos - I forgot Karl was even in this, ngl. Excluding last week, Euph's been on a roll with his 3-2 record, continuously showing his knowledge and prowess in this tier (again excluding last week). Then we have karl, who is no stranger to this tier himself, having played it for both of the last 2 tpps, so experience shouldn't be an issue here. However, this is the first time he's playing for tpp 3, having not played in a while, I imagine he's rusty. Karl did decently in this tier in the past, but given how well Euph's been doing currently, I don't see him losing here.
Gen 8 Doubles NU : queso vs LTG - This is pretty damn close. Both players have had a very underwhelming tour so far, and based on what I've seen, this is just about even, seriously, both players are 1-3. I think queso brought better teams for the most part, but failed to execute them well, while ltg's teams were a bit questionable sometimes, and he isn't too consistent with play either. Ltg may be the more experienced doubles main but I'm gonna have to give it to queso, as he can play doubles well when at his best. Although I wouldn't be surprised at all if ltg wins, he's definitely had some good showings in the past, but like memoric said, his team choice isn't always great.
Gen 8 National Dex Ubers w/ No Obtainable Formes : WSun1 vs Frito135 - Wsun1 actually has the best record in this tier at 4-1, to no one's surprise as he has W in his name. All of his ag knowledge, prowess and experience was swiftly put to use all tour. Although, frito is an ag player too, one I've seen and heard much less of, but is still not to be slept on by any means. The one game he played was played very well, and incredibly aggressive, getting zacian in every chance he got. I still think wsun1 has this w sun won but remember that fritos are still good, both the snack and the user.
Gen 8 National Dex Same Six : shiloh vs Trade - Hl match. This should be goated, as its a goated matchup between two goated players, in which one might be a little rusty whereas the other is undefeated. Shiloh may have only played 3 weeks (due to being subbed out for ron...5 last week) but they've shown that they're a top contender in this tier with really great games and building. Trade on the other hand is an underused (not the tier) goat who's only played once so far... and lost in 2. Seeing how well shiloh's been doing, and seeing as trade lost the only time they played, and it wasn't even in same six, shiloh will continue that interrupted momentum and win, though I'm excited to see what trade does in this tier of creativity.
