[OVERVIEW]

Poison
========

An amazing typing, above average defensive stats, Regenerator, and a plethora of utility moves such as Recover, Haze, and Toxic all make Toxapex one of the best defensive Pokemon Monotype has to offer and allow it to fit on almost every Poison team. Thanks to its part-Water typing, it is able to better deal with Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-types, while Haze allows it to deal with setup users like Dragapult. However, Toxapex's offensive stats are feeble and it's extremely susceptible to stallbreakers such as Mew and Zarude.

[SET]
name: Defensive (Poison)
move 1: Scald
move 2: Toxic
move 3: Haze
move 4: Recover
item: Black Sludge
ability: Regenerator
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Scald gives Toxapex some sort of offensive presence, threatening to burn offensive Pokemon such as Tapu Bulu and Bisharp that might try to take advantage of its passivity. Toxic nails both offensive and defensive Pokemon, including Volcarona, specially ones that Scald fails to do much against, such as Hydreigon and Gastrodon. Haze helps against setup users such as Dragapult and Mimikyu. Recover in tandem with Regenerator allows Toxapex to be a solid defensive pivot throughout the game.

Heavy-Duty Boots Amoonguss forms a potent Regenerator defensive core with Toxapex and provides the only reliable switch-in to Mold Breaker Excadrill available on Poison teams. Amoonguss also provides a resistance to Electric-type attacks from the likes of Tapu Koko and Zeraora. Drapion provides a much needed Psychic immunity and helps against Ghost-types such as Spectrier that can overpower Toxapex. Drapion also provides Toxic Spikes support. Galarian Weezing provides Defog support and a beneficial Dragon immunity against Pokemon such as Dragonite, as well as dealing with Substitute + Nasty Plot Hydreigon, which may take advantage of Toxapex. Nidoking is a great special wallbreaker and helps greatly in matchups like Flying, Steel, and Water thanks to its wide range of coverage options in Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Flamethrower. Assault Vest Galarian Slowking provides a great specially defensive pivot against Pokemon such as Kyurem, Tapu Lele, and Choice Specs Zapdos, which otherwise threaten the entirety of Poison-type teams. Gengar aids greatly against Psychic-type Pokemon such as Victini and Slowbro, while Nihilego is great in matchups like Flying and Water, as it can deal with Pokemon such as Zapdos, Thundurus-T, and Swampert.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Poison
--------

Baneful Bunker can be used over Toxic to better deal with physical threats like Choice Band Rillaboom and Choice Band Victini. Knock Off can be opted for to cripple Heavy-Duty Boots users and other Pokemon that heavily rely on their items. However, the utility provided by Toxic is generally appreciated more. A specially defensive spread along with a Calm nature can be used to better deal with special attackers like Volcarona.

Checks and Counters
===================

Poison
--------

**Wallbreakers**: While Toxapex's defensive stats are amazing, powerful wallbreakers like Choice Band Diggersby and Galarian Darmanitan overpower it without much trouble.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Mew and Zarude can completely shut down Toxapex with Taunt, forcing it to rely on Scald to do anything meaningful against them, while Kyurem can comfortably set up Substitute and threaten it with Freeze-Dry.

**Substitute**: Substitute users such as Kyurem and Dragapult are able to take advantage of Toxapex's below average offensive stats while avoiding Toxic.

[overview]
- add haze to the overview, mention its ability to take on setup
- talk about why its water typing is useful for poison. not why its poison typing is useful, I think you wrote this as if it was a water analysis
- remove baneful bunker from the overview since its not on the main set or in the set comments paragraph
- add kyurem to stallbreakers its weak to

[set details]
- would add Heavy-Duty Boots in front of amoonguss, just so the sets clear
- when you talk about drapion, you make it seem as if it using tspikes allows toxapex to not use tspikes. but tspikes isn't on the main set. fix this
- mention galarian slowking being extremely helpful vs lele
- add nihilego as a teammate

Hey, we are working on this on the translation project and I realised this is the Poison analysis, but in the first sentence it is said that Pex fits on almost every water team. Is that a typo?
