This Delphox set is a great pick on balanced and stall teams alike thanks to the great utility it provides. With its typing, its respectable bulk, and the recovery Wish provides, Delphox can consistently check wallbreakers such as Choice Specs Sceptile, Vanilluxe, and Magmortar. Delphox is also able to reliably defeat special setup sweepers like Calm Mind Comfey and Delphox, since Mystical Fire's Special Attack drops prevent them from breaking Delphox and Toxic + Protect lets it easily stall them. Toxic, Protect, and Wish also give Delphox a passable matchup against bulky Water-types such as Slowbro and Vaporeon. Since Delphox is vulnerable to Pursuit trappers like Choice Band Sneasel, Pokemon like Passimian and Comfey are helpful to take advantage of foes locked into Pursuit. Passimian also appreciates Delphox's ability to cripple Slowbro and other bulky Water-types with Toxic.
