Toxicroak is a decent Swords Dance user that sets itself apart from other Fighting-types with multiple traits. Its STAB Gunk Shot allows it to immediately OHKO Sylveon, it can switch into and beat bulky Water-types like Milotic, Vaporeon, and Mantine with Dry Skin, and it can fend off revenge killers like Darmanitan and Heliolisk with a potentially boosted Sucker Punch. Unfortunately, compared to other Fighting-types like Pangoro and Machamp, Toxicroak's Fighting STAB attack is significantly weaker, which worsens its ability to immediately threaten out Escavalier, Gigalith, and Rhyperior. Gunk Shot is preferred over Poison Jab due to its ability to OHKO Sylveon and take down foes such as Necrozma, defensive Galarian Weezing, and Reuniclus after a Swords Dance boost. Drain Punch allows Toxicroak to negate chip damage from Pokemon it sets up on, like Ice Beam from Milotic and Leech Life from Golisopod, while having enough power to OHKO both Gigalith and Incineroar after a boost. Cross Chop is another option, removing the to chip down Rhyperior, as it is OHKOd after a boost. However, this is at the cost of accuracy and the ability to pivot into coverage moves from bulky Water-types Toxicroak loves to come in on, like Ice Beam from Milotic. Sucker Punch helps patch up Toxicroak's average Speed, preventing weakened Pokemon like Darmanitan, Noivern, and Celebi from revenge killing it after a Swords Dance boost. However, bulkier Noivern variants require significant prior damage before being in range of a booster Sucker Punch. Knock Off can alternatively be used to punish Noivern and Doubade by removing Heavy-Duty Boots and Eviolite, respectively. It also allows Toxicroak to reliably beat Bronzong and Heavy-Duty Boots Chandelure. A Life Orb is required for Toxicroak to reach the aforementioned damage benchmarks, and a Jolly nature is required to outspeed Pokemon like Choice Specs Gardevoir, Necrozma, and Toxtricity.

Toxicroak's ability to switch into and pressure bulky Water-types makes it a great partner for setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Necrozma as well as faster offensive Pokemon like Choice Scarf Darmanitan, which both struggle to break through Milotic and Vaporeon alone. Shuca Berry Cobalion in particular lures in Noivern and cripples it with Thunder Wave. Pivot Incineroar is a great partner that checks Doublade, Chandelure, and Noivern for Toxicroak while bringing it in safely on Pokemon it lures in like Milotic. Incineroar also helps weaken Rhyperior and Galarian Weezing for Toxicroak. Faster offensive Pokemon like Choice Scarf Darmanitan and Flygon patch up Toxicroak's average speed and poor matchup versus offensive teams, while both picks benefit from Toxicroak's ability to weaken bulky Water-types. Flygon can additionally offensively check and remove Noivern for Toxicroak. Entry hazard support is also extremely important to weaken faster Pokemon like Heliolisk, Darmanitan, and Celebi into range of a boosted Sucker Punch and secure KOs on bulkier Pokemon like Rhyperior, Escavalier, and Galarian Weezing with a boosted Drain Punch or Gunk Shot. Stealth Rock support from the likes of Rhyperior is useful for this, while Rhyperior also serves as a Noivern check. Golisopod provides valuable Spikes support while forcing out Psychic-types like Reuniclus and Necrozma, weakens Doublade, and switches into Earthquake from Flygon while revenge killing it with First Impression. Rotom-W is another great partner that easily pivots into Rhyperior, Flygon, and Doublade for Toxicroak while being able to cripple offensive checks like Noivern with Thunder Wave. Toxicroak also benefits from dual screens set by Xatu or Espeon, with the added bulk allowing it to set up on Pokemon like Cobalion and Tsareena and avoid being revenge killed by Choice Scarf Passimian and Flygon.

Unfortunately, compared to other Fighting-types like Pangoro or Machamp, Toxicroak's Fighting STAB is significantly weaker, giving it a worse matchup against Gigalith, Escavalier, and Rhyperior. dunno about this. you can't set up on them obviously, but at +2 you ohko gigalith and easily 1v1 escavalier. i'd mention that things like noivern can switch into you without much fear, and to a lesser extent flygon Gunk Shot is preferred over Poison Jab due to its ability to OHKO Sylveon and OHKO foes such as Necrozma, defensive Galarian Weezing, and Reuniclus after a Swords Dance boost. Drain Punch allows Toxicroak to negate chip damage from Pokemon it sets up on, like Ice Beam from Milotic and Leech Life from Golisopod, while having enough power to OHKO both Gigalith and Incineroar after a boost. Brick Break is another option, allowing Toxicorak to destroy opposing Light Screen and Reflect, improving its matchup against dual screens offence. i think if you're gonna mention any alternative fighting STAB it should be cross chop, because it ohkos rhyp at +2. obviously mention its downsides though, lower accuracy and no passive recovery sucks on a mon with lacking longevity as is Sucker Punch helps negate Toxicroak's average speed, revenge killing Pokemon like Darmanitan, Noivern, Celebi, and Haxorus once weakened after a Swords Dance boost. A Life Orb is required for Toxicroak to reach the aforementioned damage benchmarks, as it fails to reach them without the added power boost. Alternatively, Lum Berry allows Toxicroak to absorb Will-O-Wisp from and setup a Swords Dance against defensive Rotom-W and Galarian Weezing, as well as beat Sleep Powder Roserade one-on-one. anything other than LO is not worth a mention imo. its damage output sucks as is, and most importantly you fail to ohko like, ANYTHING with +2 sucker without a life orb, so it's just insanely easy to revenge kill and wall. plus, half the reason to use this thing nowadays is the fact that it ohkos sylv from full, you can't rlly give that up. A Jolly nature is required for Toxicroak to outspeed Pokemon like Choice Specs Gardevoir, Necrozma, and Toxtricity.

mention knock off over sucker - it makes your matchup vs offense way worse but it helps with breaking through things like doublade, hdb chandy, corsola, bronzong etc.

Toxicroak's ability to switch into and pressure bulky Water-types makes it a great partner for setup sweepers like Swords Dance Cobalion and Incineroar idk how i feel about these. bulky waters don't reliably deal with SD incin, and only mantine deals with sd coba (lacking sedge), and they have the bulk to take one back. plus with sd coba you're stacking fighting types too. consider pivot incineroar, which brings croak in on the mons it sets up on like milo, weakens stuff like rhyp and can check annoying things for croak like chandelure and doublade. , as well as faster offensive Pokemon like Choice Scarf Darmanitan who struggles to break through Milotic, Rotom-W toxicroak gets volted on or burned by rotom, so change this to mantine or araquanid, and Vaporeon. Shuca Berry Cobalion in particular checks Haxorus for Toxicroak while also luring in and crippling Noivern with Thunder Wave, while Incineroar checks Doublade, Reuniculus, and Celebi reuni and celebi aren't exactly amazing toxicroak checks. regardless i'd remove the mentions of these two and mention pivot incin over sd incin bc it checks chandy and such as i said before. Faster offensive Pokemon like Choice Scarf Darmanitan and Flygon patch up Toxicroak's average speed and poor matchup versus offensive teams, while both picks benefit from Toxicroak's ability to weaken bulky Water-types. Flygon can additionally offensively check and remove both Noivern and Haxorus for Toxicroak. Hazard support is also extremely important to weaken faster Pokemon like Inteleon, Darmanitan, and Haxorus into range of a boosted Sucker Punch, as well as put bulkier Pokemon like Rhyperior and Escavalier in range of a boosted Drain Punch. Golisopod provides valuable Spikes support while forcing out Psychic-types like Reuniclus and Necrozma that check Toxicroak both of these mons drop to +2 gunk and are slower so they're really not the best examples, instead, mention that it can check stuff like scarf flygon and banded haxorus defensively (i know you alrdy have it offensively checking them but it's like the only real eq resist which is big for croak). Golisopod can also weaken Doublade as well as check and revenge kill a weakened Haxorus and Flygon with First Impression. Toxicroak also benefits from dual screens set by Xatu or Espeon, with the added bulk allowing it to setup on Pokemon like Cobalion and Tsareena more reliably. mention that screens prevent things like scarf passimian or flygon from reliably revenging it too

bring up stealth rock support! you can't KO galarian weezing without it, and croak appreciates both rhyp and necro as partners; rhyp checks stuff like noiv and toxtricity (which is an annoying mon for unboosted croak) and rocks necro checks annoying stuff like flygon and skewda

mention the washing machine here, it pivots into a lot of things croak hates like flygon and rhyp and croak being such a good water answer means that rotom doesn't feel pressured to run plot. it also means that croak isn't your only counterplay to waters since croak can struggle to do it consistently on its own

Unfortunately, compared to other Fighting-types like Pangoro or Machamp, Toxicroak's Fighting STAB is significantly weaker, giving it a worse matchup against Gigalith, Escavalier, None of these are really an issue once you hit +2, unless rhyp is at full or you are in range of Iron Head from Escav, as you can otherwise SD on Escav and just Drain Punch after to recover all the dmg. You should instead talk about how it struggles to immediately pressure these Pokemon out due to its low initial power, unlike the other 2 who can force these out for wallbreaking opportunities, as its massively afraid of them at +0. and Rhyperior. Gunk Shot is preferred over Poison Jab due to its ability to OHKO Sylveon and OHKO foes such as Necrozma, defensive Galarian Weezing, and Reuniclus after a Swords Dance boost. Drain Punch allows Toxicroak to negate chip damage from Pokemon it sets up on, like Ice Beam from Milotic and Leech Life from Golisopod, while having enough power to OHKO both Gigalith and Incineroar after a boost. Cross Chop is another option, allowing Toxicroak to OHKO Rhyperior after a boost, at the cost of accuracy and the ability to negate Life Orb damage. i'd mention something about how like Drain Punch requires only a small amount of chip to KO rhyp at +2 however, so this isn't really worth using most of the time cause its not too hard to chip into range. Also mention how the loss of Drain Punch really makes you unable to pivot into Waters as effectively as hazards + LO dmg + ice beam chip etc will wear you down a lot faster. Sucker Punch helps patch up Toxicroak's average speed, revenge killing preventing Pokemon like Darmanitan, Noivern, Celebi, and Haxorus from revenge killing once weakened after a Swords Dance boost. (you aren't revenge killing if you are getting an SD first, they are revenge killing you :x)

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Toxicroak Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Noivern: 207-244 (66.5 - 78.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
try and phrase this to better reflect how like you really do need a lot of chip on Noivern, especially since bulkier versions will take this even better.

Knock Off can alternatively be used to break through Doublade easier as well as more reliably beat Bronzong and Heavy Duty Boots Chandelure mention how it also gives you some more early-game utility by punishing Noivern for switching in, and also mention how Knock Off leaves you more liable to being revenge killed by stuff like Noivern, Scarf Chandelure etc etc . Pivot Incineroar is a great partner that checks Doublade, Chandelure, and Reuniclus Reuniclus isn't an amazing Toxciroak check since bulky sets get KO'd at +2, while Incineroar can struggle to decently pivot into any set with Focus Blast for unboosted Toxicroak anyway for Toxicroak while bringing it in safely on Pokemon it lures in like Milotic. Toxicroak also benefits from dual screens set by Xatu or Espeon, with the added bulk allowing it to set up on Pokemon like Cobalion and Tsareena and avoid being revenge killed by Choice Scarf Passimian and Flygon.

[SET COMMENTS]

Toxicroak is a decent Swords Dance user that sets itself apart from other Fighting-types (AH) with multiple traits. Its STAB Gunk Shot allows it to immediately OHKO Sylveon, it can switch into and beat bulky Water-types like Milotic, Vaporeon, and Mantine with Dry Skin, and it possesses a potentially boosted Sucker Punch to can fend off revenge killers like Darmanitan and Heliolisk with a potentially boosted Sucker Punch. Unfortunately, compared to other Fighting-types like Pangoro or and Machamp, Toxicroak's Fighting STAB attack is significantly weaker, which worsens its ability to immediately threaten out Escavalier, Gigalith, and Rhyperior. Gunk Shot is preferred over Poison Jab due to its ability to OHKO Sylveon and OHKO take out other foes such as Necrozma, defensive Galarian Weezing, and Reuniclus after a Swords Dance boost. Drain Punch allows Toxicroak to negate chip damage from Pokemon it sets up on, like Ice Beam from Milotic and Leech Life from Golisopod, while having enough power to OHKO both Gigalith and Incineroar after a boost. Cross Chop is another option, allowing preventing Toxicroak to bypass from having to chip down Rhyperior, as it OHKOs OHKOes it after a boost. But However, this is at the cost of accuracy and the ability to pivot into coverage moves from bulky Water-types Toxicroak loves to come in on, like Ice Beam from Milotic. Sucker Punch helps patch up Toxicroak's average Speed, preventing weakened (as in the revenge killers are weakened not Toxicroak?) Pokemon like Darmanitan, Noivern, and Celebi from revenge killing it once weakened after a Swords Dance boost. However, bulkier Noivern variants require significant prior damage before being in range of a booster Sucker Punch. Knock Off can alternatively be used to punish Noivern and Doubade by removing Heavy-Duty (AH) Boots and Eviolite, respectively. It also allows Toxicroak to reliably beat Bronzong and Heavy-Duty (AH) Boots Chandelure. A Life Orb is required for Toxicroak to reach the aforementioned damage benchmarks, and a Jolly nature is required for Toxicroak to outspeed Pokemon like Choice Specs Gardevoir, Necrozma, and Toxtricity.

Toxicroak's ability to switch into and pressure bulky Water-types makes it a great partner for setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Necrozma as well as faster offensive Pokemon like Choice Scarf Darmanitan, who which both struggle to break through Milotic and Vaporeon alone. Shuca Berry Cobalion in particular lures in Noivern and cripples Noivern it with Thunder Wave. Entry hazard support is also extremely important to weaken faster Pokemon like Heliolisk, Darmanitan, and Celebi into range of a boosted Sucker Punch (RP) Hazards also wear down and secure the KO on bulkier Pokemon like Rhyperior, Escavalier, and Galarian Weezing in range of with a boosted Drain Punch and or Gunk Shot, respectively. (repetition) Stealth Rock support from the likes of Rhyperior is useful to bring the aforementioned Pokemon in range of a boosted attack this end, while Rhyperior also serves as a Noivern check. Golisopod provides valuable Spikes support while forcing out Psychic-types like Reuniclus and Necrozma that check an unboosted Toxicroak, (comma) Golisopod can also weakening Doublade, (AC) as well as and switching into Earthquake from Flygon and revenge killing it with First Impression. Rotom-W is another great partner that easily pivots into Rhyperior, Flygon, and Doublade for Toxicroak (RC) while being able to cripple offensive checks like Noivern with Thunder Wave. Toxicroak also benefits from dual screens set by Xatu or Espeon, with the added bulk allowing it to set up on Pokemon like Cobalion and Tsareena and avoid being revenge killed by Choice Scarf Passimian and Flygon.
