I started playing showdown very recently after being a longtime fan of the franchise. I practised mostly with randoms so far and right now I am trying to make my own team with pokemon I like to use in playthroughs, trying to make them work after some research into the competitive scene. This is what I have so far,
Gallade @ Galladite
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt
- Swords Dance
- Ice Punch
Gallade is my favorite pokemon of all time. After some research I learned he works well with Bisharp as a core. I use swords dance to set-up, other moves are for coverage. EV spreads are quite self explanatory in my opinion.
Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
Bisharp forms the core together with Gallade. They have quite strong synergy since they cover a lot of types for each other. EV's spent in typical sweeper stats. Swords Dance for building strength, Knock Off and Iron Head for stab and sucker punch for priority.
Volcarona @ Passho Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz
Volcarona was very appealing to me, its a strong special sweeper with especially fiery dance looking very strong. EV's spent to make it faster and stronger. Fiery dance and bug buzz for stab, giga drain for coverage and quiver dance for setting up.
Nihilego @ Focus Sash
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Power Gem
- Sludge Wave
Nihiligo is my lead. I thought both stealth rock and toxic spikes would be really strong. EV's in speed to make sure to get some hazards up and def to make up for its lower bulk. Toxic spikes and stealth rock for hazards, power gem and sludge wave for stab. To be honest i have no idea why I have a focus sash since it tanks most every hit.
Rotom-Wash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Shadow Ball
I had a wash rotom once in random battle and it was very fun, using choice spec volt switch has been very fun for a few games. EV's spent to ensure a very strong volt switch before switching out. Volt switch is for cycling, Thunder and pump for stab and shadow ball for coverage
Haxorus @ Salac Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Tail
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
Haxorus is really only here because I liked it a lot in a playthrough a while ago and i needed a sixth pokemon. Typical physical sweeper EV's i think. Dance for setup, Dragon claw for stab and Earthquake and Aqua Tail for coverage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to make some drastic changes if you see fit, im even open to a completely different archetype.
