[OVERVIEW]

Pros:
  • Type: Null is one of the best pivots in the PU metagame that has access to great bulk, further augmented by Eviolite, which allows it to blanket check a plethora of special attackers such as Pyroar and Lilligant.
  • Type: Null's access to U-turn, Rest, Swords Dance and Iron Defence also allows it to function as a fairly sustainable bulky pivot or a decent late-game wincon.
  • Type: Null fits on bulkier teams because it's a bulky pivot, status absorber, blanket check etc.
  • Type: Null’s ability, Battle Armor, protects it from any critical hits that threaten it’s sweep.
Cons:

  • On the downside, Type: Null is susceptible to taunt from Pokemon which prevent it from using Rest or setting up.
  • Knock Off users such as __ can remove Type: Null’s Eviolite, reducing its bulk and making it unable to take on special attackers that its tasked to handle.
  • Type: Null’s low speed forces it to take a hit before retaliating and it can be easily worn through the means of status as well as entry hazards.
  • Furthermore, relying on rest to heal up can give free setup opportunities to the opponent.
  • It can be overwhelmed by hard-hitting physical attacks using such as Primeape and Archeops which can easily 2HKO Type: Null with their respective STAB attacks.
  • Type: Null faces competition from Normal-types and other set-up sweepers because they have access to immediate attack stat and coverage like Stoutland and Miltank.
  • Fighting-types, Ghost-types, and Steel-types, which are very common in the metagame, easily wall Type: Null and accordingly it relies heavily on support from teammates to remove these mons.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Rest is the only option that allows Type: Null to heal up after taking multiple hits.
U-turn is to pivot out and create momentum.
Return is STAB. SD to set up. Toxic to cripple mons that switch in.

Set Details
========
Max HP and Max SpD to make this mon capable of eating up special hits from mons like Mesprit.

Usage Tips
========

Pivot it in on special hits and create momentum with slow u-turn or set up. Do not set up if there are opposing ghost-type or steel-type mons.

Team Options
========

Blanket checks to physically offensive mons like Tangela pair well. Mons with volt switch or u-turn pair well as they form together a volt-turn core. Mons who appreciate slow u-turn like Archeops.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to either being not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

Checks and Counters
===================

Ghost-type mons

Steel-type mons

Fighting-type mons

Taunt/Trick/Knock off

Physically offensive pressure.
