The principle of this set is pretty simple: thanks to its natural bulk, Tyranitar can switch in on a plethora of Pokemon that don't threaten it like Latias, Zapdos without Toxic or Thunder Wave, and Choice-locked Rotom and then set a Subsitute. Tyranitar simultaneously doesn't worry about Pokemon like Clefable and Blissey, since it can use Substitute before they have an opportunity to status it. Behind Subsitute, Tyranitar becomes an enormous threat for bulkier teams. While many of these more defensive teams can usually deal with mixed Tyranitar via smart pivots into faster threats, Substitute totally invalidates this strategy and gives you an important advantage.

Focus Punch, even without STAB, will always do respectable damage thanks to its high-Base-Power combined with Tyranitar's high Attack. It allows Tyranitar to hit Clefable, Blissey, and steel-types like Heatran, Scizor, Jirachi, Magnezone, Bronzong, and even Skarmory for great damage. Ice Beam threatens the usual Tyranitar checks like Gliscor, Breloom, and Hippowdon but also hits Fighting-resistant Pokemon like Dragonite and Zapdos. Finally, Crunch gives Tyranitar a powerful STAB attack that enables it to deal with all Latias variants more effectively and hit Psychic- and Ghost-types like Rotom-A, Starmie, Celebi, and Gengar. Flamethrower is an option too if you want to deal with Scizor, Skarmory, Forretress, and Metagross more effectively.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP allows Tyranitar to create a 101 HP Substitute, which means it can't be broken by Clefable's or Blissey's Seismic Toss. 100 Special Attack EVs guarantee Tyranitar will always OHKO Gliscor, 252 HP Dragonite after Stealth Rock, and Breloom after Stealth Rock and three layers of Spikes with Ice Beam, as well as improving your chances against Hippowdon. The rest of the EVs are put in Attack to maximize Tyranitar's power. A Lonely nature is preferred to both preserve Special Attack and Speed and maximize Attack. The Speed is especially important so Tyranitar can create a Substitute before Blissey and Clefable can cripple it.

Usage Tips
========

Using this set is pretty simple; use Tyranitar's bulk to set up a Substitute on Pokémon like Rotom, Clefable, and Blissey, and then utilize its wide coverage to threaten a large portion of the metagame. However, Tyranitar needs to be preserved from status, and it's better if it switches on a Soft-Boiled from Clefable and Blissey, since being paralyzed or hit with Knock Off will reduce its utility. For the same reason, Tyranitar can only be brought in on non-Will-O-Wisp Rotom. If you can predict a switch-in by such a Rotom, it can highly reward you by allowing Tyranitar to create some holes in the opposing team, especially due to Focus Punch's high power and spammable nature thanks to the Subsitute and the rest of Tyranitar's coverage. However, preserving Tyranitar's HP is really important, and you need to set a Substitute only when Tyranitar can safely do enough damage to make it profitable to you. For the same reason, you need to play this Tyranitar set very safely around entry hazards, especially if you do not have any spinners on your team. When Tyranitar is under a Substitute, you don't need to make predictions because your opponent can't afford to do multiple switch-ins before breaking your Substitute. However, making a good prediction (versus an important wincon or a U-turn user for example) can give you a huge advantage in the game. Finally, use Crunch as much as possible early-game, as this keeps your remaining moves a secret, useful to better surprise Pokemon like Gliscor, Hippowdon, and Breloom with Ice Beam or set up Substitute more effectively once the team has been scouted out a bit more.

Team Options
========

The best way to support SubPunch Tyranitar is to give it some opportunities to switch in and set up a Substitute. Powerful special attackers like Heatran, Starmie, Zapdos, Latias, and Calm Mind Jirachi are perfect for this job thanks to their ability to lure Blissey and Clefable onto the field so Tyranitar can set up a Substitute. Magma Storm + Taunt Heatran is particularly effective thanks to its ability to trap Blissey and Clefable and prevent them from inducing status, giving a free Substitute opportunity to Tyranitar. Entry hazard support is also super appreciated for wearing down Tyranitar checks like Hippowdon, Jirachi, and Swampert. In addition, Tyranitar forces a ton of switches to capitalize on hazards thanks to its great coverage and ability to gain momentum. Moreover, by weakening Swampert, Skarmory, Zapdos, and Hippowdon, TyraniBoah gives opportunities to some sweepers like Swords Dance Lucario, Agility Metagross and Trick Room Bronzong. However, keeping entry hazards, and especially Toxic Spikes, away from your side is super important, so a rapid spinner (or at least a Grounded Poison-type Pokemon) is really useful. Finally, Pokemon like Zapdos, Rotom, and are always nice to wear down bulky Water-types like Suicune, Milotic, and Vaporeon.

The principle of this set is pretty simple: thanks to his natural bulk, Tyranitar can switch on a plethora of Pokémon which don't threaten it, and can therefore set a subsitute. Then, its time for it to reveal its full potential! The Subsitute is usefull for abusing of Focus Punch which, even without STAB, can hit a large part of the metagame thanks to his awesome base. It especially allows Tyranitar to hit Clefable, Blissey, and steels types in general. Ice Beam threaten usual Tyranitar checks like Gliscor, Breloom and Hippowdon, but also hits Fighting resistances like Dragonite and Zapdos. Finally, Crunch complete the coverage by giving it a powerfull STAB which can hit Psychic and Ghost types like Rotom, Latias, Starmie, Celebi and Gengar.

- The main point here should be that it can abuse Blissey and Clefable by setting up Substitute, making it very deadly vs bulkier teams that have a lot of difficulty versus Mixed Tyranitar. Where many defensive teams can handle Mixed Tyranitar via smart pivots into faster threats, Substitute eases prediction and to a decent extent invalidates that strategy or, more specifically, makes it a lot more difficult to pull off and enables you to gain a significant advantage.
- Substitute also has the bonus of blocking slower status inducers.
- I'd like to see a bit more specificity with certain statements, "Tyranitar can switch into a plethora of Pokemon that don't threaten it". Here you should specify some of those Pokemon. "Focus Punch can hit a large part of the metagame", same thing here, where you should emphasize which Steel-types.
- I'd actually emphasize that Crunch enables it to deal with all Latias variants more effectively, then list Rotom-A, Starmie, Celebi, and Gengar.
- Flamethrower deserves some mention here. Not sure if it should be slashed yet, but it helps a lot vs Skarmory, Metagross, Scizor, and Forretress.

Set Details

The maximum investment in HP allows Tyranitar to create a 101 HP substitute, which means it can't be broken by Clefable or Blissey Seismic Toss.
100 Special Attack EVs guarantee Tyranitar will always OHKO Gliscor, 252HP Dragonite after Stealth Rocks, and breloom after Stealth Rocks and 3 layers of spikes. The rest of the EVs are put in attack to maximise Tyranitar power and dammages from Focus Punch. Unlike the precedent version, a Lonely nature is prefered in order to create a Substitute before Clefable can use Thunder Wave Or Knock-Off, which would seriously handicap it.

- The Special Attack investment should also highlight the improved roll vs Hippowdon
- "A Lonely nature is preferred to both preserve Special Attack and Speed while maximizing Attack. The Speed is especially important so it can create a Substitute before Blissey and Clefable can cripple it."
- Attack EVs are just general maximization, it's not for Focus Punch specifically.

Usage Tips
========

As we said before, the principle of this set is pretty simple: use Tyranitar bulk to set-up a substitute on Pokémon like Rotom, Clefable and Blissey , and then abuse of his awesome coverage to threaten an enormous part of the metagame. Thereby, go on Tyranitar by antipating a switch on one of these can be higly rewarded and can allows Tyranitar to create some holes in the opposing team, especially thanks a 150 BS Focus Punch which can be spammed without anticipating, thanks to the subsitute and the rest of the coverage.

- Think this should be fleshed out a bit more. Talk about how you want to be careful when using Substitute, as you want to try to preserve Tyranitar's HP as much as possible. Try to use Substitute only when you think Tyranitar can put in enough work behind it to gain most of the lost HP back.
- This Tyranitar detests entry hazards, so talk about general preservation.
- Talk about using Focus Punch on a switch and go into a bit of detail about prediction scenarios, which are important for all mixed attackers.
- I'd say try to use Crunch early as much as possible to keep the moveset hidden, as it can better surprise Gliscor with Ice Beam or set up Substitute more effectively once the team has been scouted out a bit more. I'd say TyraniBoah is best utilized mid-game.
- Overall try to be more specific instead of talking in the general sense.

The best way to support TyraBoah is to give it some opportunities to switch in and to set a substitute. Powerfull special attackers like Heatran, Starmie, Zapdos, Latias or Calm Mind Jirachi are perfect for this job, thanks to they ability to attract Blissey and Clefable on the field, giving an opportunity to double on Tyranitar, and then set a Substitute. Moreover, thanks to the weakening of Swampert, Skarmory, Zapdos and Hippowdon, TyraBoah can gives opportunities to some sweepers like Sword Dance Lucario, Agility Metagross or Trick Room Bronzong.

- BoahTar definitely appreciates Spikes + Toxic Spikes support more than most Pokemon, as those are crucial for wearing down its checks and putting Hippowdon into a range where Ice Beam is super threatening. In addition, it forces a ton of switches thanks to its great coverage and ability to gain momentum.
- Also think about grounded Poison-types that can remove Toxic Spikes, which would significantly cripple BoahTar, and set them up for BoahTar to abuse.
- Rapid Spin support is extremely desirable here.
- BoahTar can enable Pokemon like Substitute + Protect Heatran, which can struggle versus Clefable.
- You can mention Taunt + Magma Storm Heatran here in particular, trapping and preventing Blissey and Clefable from inducing status, then pivoting to Tyranitar on a Seismic Toss and setting up a Substitute.
- Something to wear down bulky Water-types like Suicune and Milotic would be great to highlight here as well.

Even if you need to be aware with status, Tyranitar can destroy easily all this Pokemon, and they will Switch-out 90 percent of the time. If the opponent sees TTar having leftovers, some mons like Bold Zapdos won't necessarily switch out. Bold Zap might stay in if it has Toxic. I would rephrase it more like TTar does not have to worry about pokemon like Zapdos if Zapdos isn't carrying a status move, and TTar simultaneously doesn't worry about pokemon like Clefable or Blissey since it can use substitute before Clefable and Blissey have an opportunity to status it. Moreover, setting a substitute protects Tyranitar from status. Then, its time for it to reveal its full potential! Under a subsitute, Tyranitar becomes an enormous threat for bulkier teams. It is important to note that it's best if TTar only switches into Clefable or Blissey on a predicted Softboil or Seismic Toss, because it taking a Twave or having its leftovers knocked off will reduce its utility. The same goes for Rotom because Ttar can only switch safely into non-will-o-wisp Rotoms. As far as usage goes, I think the advice should be that TTar's ability to switch in safely on these mons depends on what set they are running. If they have a status move, TTar has to be very careful upon switching in. Moves
========

Where While many of these more defensive teams can usually deal with mixed Tyranitar via smart pivots into faster threats, Substitute totally invalidates this strategy and gives you an important advantage.

Focus Punch, even without STAB, will always do respectable damage thanks to its high Base Power (removed both hyphens) combined with Tyranitar's high Attack. It allows Tyranitar to hit Clefable, Blissey, and Steel-types like Heatran, Scizor, Jirachi, Magnezone, (added missing space) Bronzong, and even Skarmory for great damage. Ice Beam threatens the usual Tyranitar checks like Gliscor, Breloom, and Hippowdon but also hits Fighting-resistant (removed bold on the F) Pokemon like Dragonite and Zapdos. Finally, Crunch completes the coverage by giving gives Tyranitar a powerful STAB attack that enables it to deal with all Latias variants more effectively and hit Psychic- and Ghost-types like Rotom-A, Starmie, Celebi, and Gengar. Flamethrower is an option too if you want to deal with Scizor, Skarmory, Forretress, and Metagross more effectively.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP allows Tyranitar to create a 101 HP Substitute, which means it can't be broken by Clefable's or Blissey's Seismic Toss. 100 Special Attack EVs guarantee Tyranitar will always OHKO Gliscor, 252 HP Dragonite after Stealth Rock, and Breloom after Stealth Rock and three layers of Spikes with Ice Beam, (AC) and improves as well as improving your chances against Hippowdon. The rest of the EVs are put in Attack to maximize Tyranitar's power. A Lonely nature is preferred to both preserve Special Attack and Speed while maximizing and maximize Attack. The Speed is especially important so Tyranitar can create a Substitute before Blissey and Clefable can cripple it.

Usage Tips
========

The principle of this set is pretty simple: Using this set is pretty simple; use Tyranitar's bulk to set up a Substitute on Pokemon (removed accent on the e) like Rotom, Clefable, and Blissey, and then utilize its wide coverage to threaten a large portion of the metagame. However, Tyranitar needs to be preserved from status, and it's better if it switches on a Soft-Boiled from Clefable and or Blissey, (AC) since being paralyzed or knocked off hit with Knock Off will reduce its utility. For the same reason, Tyranitar can only be brought in on non-Will-O-Wisp (added first hyphen) Rotom. If you can predict a switch-in by one of these Rotom's such a Rotom, (AC) it can be highly rewarded and can allow highly reward you by allowing Tyranitar to create some holes in the opposing team, (AC) especially due to Focus Punch's Base Power of 150 which can be spammed without anticipating high power and spammable nature thanks to the Subsitute and the rest of Tyranitar's coverage. However, preserving Tyranitar's HP is really important, and you need to set a Substitute only when it Tyranitar can safely do enough damage to make it profitable to you. Furthermore, this Tyranitar set hates entry hazards and you need to be really preservative with it. For the same reason, you need to play this Tyranitar set very safely around entry hazards, especially if you do not have any spinners on your team. When Tyranitar is under a Substitute, you don't need to anticipate make predictions because your opponent can't afford to do multiple switch-ins without before (clarity) breaking your sub Substitute. However, making a good prediction (versus an important wincon or a U-turn user for example) can give you a huge advantage in the game. Finally, use Crunch as much as possible in the early-game, (AC) as this keeps your remaining moves a secret, as it can useful to better surprise Pokemon like Gliscor, Hippowdon, (AC) or and Breloom with Ice Beam or set up Substitute more effectively once the team has been scouted out a bit more.

Team Options
========

The best way to support SubPunch Tyranitar is to give it some opportunities to switch-in and to switch in and set a Substitute. Powerful special attackers like Heatran, Starmie, Zapdos, Latias, (AC) or and Calm Mind Jirachi are perfect for this job (RC) thanks to their ability to lure Blissey and Clefable onto the field (RC) so Tyranitar can set up (was "setup") a Substitute. Magma Storm + Taunt Heatran is particularly effective thanks to si its ability to trap Blissey and Clefable and to prevent them from inducing status, and then giving a free Substitute opportunity to Tyranitar. Entry hazard support is also super well appreciated by for wearing down Tyranitar checks like Hippowdon, Jirachi, and Swampert. In addition, it Tyranitar forces a ton of switches to capitalize on hazards thanks to its great coverage and ability to gain momentum. Moreover, thanks to the weakening of by weakening Swampert, Skarmory, Zapdos, (AC) and Hippowdon, TyraniBoah can gives opportunities to some sweepers like Swords Dance Lucario, Agility Metagross, (AC) or and Trick Room Bronzong. However, keeping entry hazards, and especially Toxic Spikes, (AC) away from your side is super important, and a rapid so a spinner (or at least a grounded-poison Grounded Poison-type Pokemon) is really appreciated and useful. Finally, Pokemon like Zapdos, Rotom, (AC) or Celebi is always cool and Celebi are always nice to wear down bulky waters Water-types like Suicune, Milotic, (AC) or and Vaporeon.
