Deoxys-l @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/80 Def/176 Spd
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
- Taunt
Switches in on: Leads, but can switch back in later on most things if needed.
Deoxys is mainly used to set up entry hazards. Taunt can stop other leads from setting up their entry hazards, or using Leech Seed and other moves if that's what they do. Recover lets it heal itself if it switches back in after being hit hard or switches in on a lot of entry hazards.
Rayquaza @ Life Orb
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/216 Spd/8 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Overheat
- Outrage
Switches in on: Rayquaza doesn't tend to live too long, so I usually switch it in after something else dies.
Dragon Dance lets Rayquaza boost its stats if I get the chance to use it. Earthquake is particularily good for Dialga but hits most other stuff pretty hard. Outrage hits the other Uber dragons and anything that isn't Steel. Overheat is for steel types that come in on Outrage.
Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Reflect
- Whirlwind
Switches in on: Just about anything that I'm not expecting an Ice or Electric attack from.
Lugia is used to wall. Recover and Reflect let it do so pretty effectively. Ice Beam hits other Lugia and some of the Uber dragons pretty hard. Whirlwind is used to shuffle and phaze things and works pretty well in combination with Deoxys' entry hazards.
Giratina @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP/248 Def/12 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Will-o-wisp
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
Switches in on: Forretress to spin block, physical attackers that I'm trying to stop.
Dragon Pulse is there to do some piddling damage. Will-o-Wisp burns stuff to deal damage and cut attack. Resttalk is there for the usual reason: recovering HP/removing stats and making Giratina not useless when it's asleep.
Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Aqua Tail
- Surf
- Spacial Rend
- Thunder
Switches in on: Electric and Grass attacks that would hit Kyogre harder, dragons that Kyogre has paralyzed.
Surf with Kyogre's rain hits nearly anything fairly hard. Thunder hits the water types in Ubers(mainly opposing Kyogre) for super effective damage. Spacial Rend hits the Uber dragons and works well for me in combination with Kyogre's Thunder Wave. Aqua Tail is good for Blissey and Pokemon that have used Calm Mind.
Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 116 HP/140 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunder
- Thunder Wave
- Calm Mind
Switches in on: Groudon, fire types, flying types.
Kyogre sets up the rain. Surf and Thunder are used for the same reasons/type coverage as they are on Palkia. Thunder Wave paralyzes various threats and lets Palkia kill them. Calm Mind lets Kyogre boost stats if I get the chance, usually if I force a switch.
Problems: I've tried a lot of different uber teams, I usually keep Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Palkia on them. This is probably the closest I've come to a decent team but I still have a lot of problems.
I usually end up spin blocking Forretress with Giratina, but I have no way of quickly killing it without switching out and letting it probably switch out or rapid spin so it always gets to set up entry hazards.
Sky Shaymin pretty much ruins me and I'm not sure how to counter it. I used to use a different Rayquaza with ExtremeSpeed but even that doesn't counter it too well. And it can flinchhax pretty much everything to death. Seed Flare also destroys Kyogre and usually forces a switch on anything else.
I also recently nearly had a match won and got sweeped by my opponent's Garchomp, so it seems like I'm susceptible to that too.
