Here it is, the long-awaited playoffs of the third edition of the Ubers Ladder Tournament! You all laddered hard in cycles one and two, and this is the culmination of that: all qualified players will now face off in single-elimination best-of-three series until this edition's winner is crowned. To the ultimate victor will go eternal glory and immortalization in the Ubers Hall of Fame. More importantly, though, they'll get a whole heap of Type A points to help toward their eligibility for the 2021 Ubers Circuit Championship! Let the spectacle begin...

SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard SS Ubers tournament
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!, ideally on smogtours.psim.us as it automatically saves replays + is easier to recreate games in case of disconnects.
  • This tournament will be Single Elimination.
  • All rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • All replays must be posted, without exceptions. Any win post without replays will not be counted.
  • Any eventual tier changes will only take effect in the following round.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Sleep Clause Mod: Limit one foe put to sleep
  • Species Clause: Limit one of each Pokemon
  • OHKO Clause: OHKO moves are banned
  • Evasion Moves Clause: Evasion moves are banned
  • Endless Battle Clause: Forcing endless battles is banned
  • HP Percentage Mod: HP is shown in percentages
  • Dynamax Clause: You cannot dynamax
Identity

About playing on alts: It is entirely allowed to play on an alt other than your own main forum name, though if your opponent wishes to confirm your identity, you must log on to your main alt to show them you are who you claim to be. This is to prevent people from pretending to be who they're not.

About playing on different servers: The matches must be played on either the Smogtours server or the Main PS! server if both parties agree to that. Other servers are not sanctioned by the host(s) and playing in them might result in your game not counting. Protect yourself from that by playing on Smogtours.

Scouting

On scouting opponents: Going through your opponents replays of tournament and ladder games is entirely allowed, as long as a game is public there is nothing preventing you from watching it. An exception to this is abusing powers granted to you by being staff on Smogon or PS! to gain access to information a normal user wouldn't have access to, which is strictly forbidden.

On leaking teams: Divulging private information about someone's planned team to their opponent is never allowed, and will be heavily sanctioned. Requesting that such information be divulged is also grounds for punishment. Keep your scouting to publicly available information and you'll be fine.

Timer Clause / Disconnections

Timer Clause: As for taking long between moves, if your opponent asks you to hurry up, please oblige. If you are doing a damage calc for a key turn that is one thing, but prolonging every move is suspicious and annoying. Don't do it. Furthermore, Battle Timeout is a rule for a reason. If you run out of time, you lose, simple as that. It does not matter what your opponent says. Do not battle if you think you will have to leave mid battle, and instead reschedule for a better time.

Disconnections: Finally, in the case of a disconnect, the decision is in the hands of the player who did not disconnect. The options are: redo the battle move for move, redo the battle with the same teams but different moves, or redo the battle with completely different teams. If the battle was without a doubt over, they may also take the win. Any suspicion that a disconnect was committed on purpose to redo a match may be appealed to me, and if I feel this happened there will be severe consequences, don't do it.

Scheduling

Use VMs to schedule with your opponent to make it easier for me to track activity calls when needed, and use this guide to ensure you don't lose via activity or coinflip. If you use other methods to contact your opponent outside of VMs, then post in this thread confirming you're in contact with your opponent; otherwise, it's not necessary. Extensions for those with time conflicts will only be given when proof is provided of scheduling with their opponent in the beginning of the round, so do not schedule last minute expecting to be compensated in case of timezone conflicts or be given an activity win over your opponent.

I know that was a lot to read, but it is all necessary for me to have posted here so everyone can see it in the case of a dispute. I don't want any confusion or any problems

1: Fardin vs 16: Exiline Highlight of the round, exiline and Fardin have very good players SS Ubers and can be the best currently, I prognosticate Exiline because overall I find him better in game than Fardin and he will be much more regular on the BO3.
2: Samqian vs 15: Reje Nice confrontation between experienced players, Samqian who qualified with enough ease and with a fairly high ladder on the other hand Reje is a good SS Ubers player and I think with his experience he will take the lead over his opponent.
3: Indercover vs 14: Alpha Rabbit hf
4: Lunala vs 13: Trade I don't have much to say here, I just find that Trade has a better in game and better knowledge of the meta than Lunala, I see him winning quite widely.
5: Ayoukoo vs 12: Fc I find this confrontation very interesting on one side Fc who is potentially one of the most in form players in SS Ubers and on the other Ayouko former mate UPL of Fc who has not touched the ubers since his Quarter ULT of last year, I think ayouko will win in a BO greenhouse and that he will manage to upset this match up
6: Fogbound Lake vs 11: Hrishioo7 This pairing seems to me quite one sided for the moment, Fog is really an experienced player and very good in the current meta where hrishioo7 is a little newcomer on the scene nevertheless I think that he is good and that he will show some good things during this bo3 but Fog should very logically win here.
7: Blimax vs 10: Staxi Normally I would have predicted staxi but here I think I will make an exception because I think that Blimax has the means to win here, after a ULT qualification acquired in barely 50 games with 91% of Gxe, Blimax has everything to be the outsider number 1 of these plays off, I see him start his run with a victory against staxi.
8: Raph369 vs 9: rng loser And to finish a pairing quite balanced between 2 players who still need to prove themselves on the smogon scene, Raph is a baguette that has a potential in the tier quite incredible where the Rng loser has never really made me strong impression, I look forward to see.

Giving loser Staxi a 2-day extension cause he asked for it due to scheduling difficulties...so much for everyone getting their games done on time.:mad::mad:

Round 2:
16: Exiline vs 8: Raph369
5: Ayoukoo vs 13: Trade
3: Indercover vs 6: Hrishioo7
2: Samqian vs (7: Blimax vs 10: Staxi)

DEADLINE: Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 at midnight GMT-4.
The ongoing Zacian-Hero suspect has no relevance to this round; it is still legal to use in ULT.

GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN GAMERS :toast:

16: Exiline vs 8: Raph369 Very interesting pairing, Raph369 who barely got by against Rng loser against an Exiline who really outprep fardin and was almost impunish on the BO, I think Exiline will win here if Raph plays like he did last week but I think he is capable of raising his game against Exiline.
5: Ayoukoo vs 13: Trade an extremely tight pairing for the time being, Trade who played well overall his BO despite a more than present luck in his games and Ayouko who knew how to take advantage of Fc's teams to better CounterTeam him, not sure if it's enough to cost Trade since he plays a much wider range of teams than his first opponent, I'd say 51/49 for Trade but it's going to be really interesting.
3: Indercover vs 6: Hrishioo7 hf (my opponent of the week clearly surprised me by having eliminated one of the favourites for me from round 1, he's a new player with a lot of potential that I'm going to follow closely, this BO looks cool)
2: Samqian vs (7: Blimax vs 10: Staxi) Surprisingly Samqian showed a surprisingly good ease and understanding of the meta, with his in game I see him going far and passing this round, for predict blimax vs staxi cf Indercopredicts n1
