Check: BasedWhat? Yveltal is so good and gets hella mileage compressing a lot of threats imo, most realistic for me to add on my team.

Counter: Fc Seems most plausible and safest counter out of the bunch with Shadow Shield being such a good ability and having the option to wow or 2hko with ice beam.

UP: Lasen I have a ADV bias but imma have to go with solrock>vibrava due to the fact I loved meteor falls as a kid and my favorite word is mitt solskinn so its destiny.

Thanks to its Fairy type, Xerneas can switch on Yveltal's Dark STABs easily. Therefore, this set aims to switch on Yveltal, and then threatens it and opponent's team by either going for Geomancy or Moonblast (this depends on if you expect Yveltal to stay or switch).
The investments in Speed allow Xerneas at +2 to outspeed base 100 Choice Scarf. The investments in Special Attack allow Xerneas to OHKO Yveltal with Moonblast. The rest is put in HP and Defense to better hold hit from Yveltal, while allowing Xerneas to be used as a check to Zygarde too.

Thanks to its dual Steel and Fairy typing, Magearna sports resistances to both of Yveltal's STAB moves. Maximum HP and SpD investment allow Magearna to tank up to 6 hits from Yveltal, as seen from the Calcs below. It can come in on Yveltal's attacks at any given time, and either Fleur Cannon to KO Yveltal or Pain Split to restore its own health. Power Swap is an interesting option to use, but one that is somewhat necessary, since Heart Swap was removed. Essentially, Power Swap trades Attack and Special Attack stat changes with the opposing mon. So this Magearna variant can use Fleur Cannon without negative drawbacks up to twice. And furthermore, Magearna serves as a solid pivot and excellent Geomancy Xerneas check as well.

Overall, Magaerna is quite an interesting pick, and can pair quite nicely with Calyrex-S, as it can naturally pivot into it and threaten the opposition in a pinch. The loss of Bulky Ground Types, leaves only Zygarde (who fears a STAB Boosted Fleur Cannon) and Groudon. Groudon can easily be chipped throughout the match, thus increasing Magearna's viability even more. Indeed, a truly terrific pick if you're looking to decimate Yveltal so Calyrex Rides Ubers and Stunts On The Hoes!

Eternatus is a counter to specially offensive Yveltal. I prefer Heavy-Duty Boots for this job specifically, since this Yveltal will most often find itself on Hyper Offense teams with webs, meaning it could fast Taunt and shut down this set semi reliably. I think with how commonplace and splashable defensive Eternatus is, it's the most consistent and best counter to offensive Yveltal due to its great role compression and moveset that lets it beat this and many other things.

Calm Mind strengthens its already capable defensive capabilities against Yveltal and allows Hyper Voice to OHKO a Full HP Yveltal and increases the offensive potential of Sylveon and can act as a winning condition for the team, while Heal Bell allows it to perform the role of Cleric.
