RESERVING TAPU KOKO

:ss/tapu koko:
Tapu Koko @ Light Clay
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- U-turn
- Taunt / Wild Charge

Tapu Koko can be used on hyper offensive teams as an alternative dual screens setter to Regieleki. While soft checking Yveltal, it can set up screens and pivot to a faster revenge killer or sweeper like Xerneas or Zekrom. The tradeoff between Tapu Koko and Regieleki is the access to U-turn and more defensive utility at the cost of Rapid Spin, Explosion, and more speed.

Submitting Klefki as a check to LO Yveltal
:xy/klefki:
Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Play Rough
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
- Toxic

Klefki can use Yveltal's presence to set a row of Spikes not affected by its Dark typing or bait a taunt for a partner to come in for a pressure scenario. Klefki can also use Thunder Wave or Toxic against a Yveltal switching to an opposing partner.
Play Rough is the most damaging move Klefki can use against Yveltal.

0 Atk Klefki Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yveltal: 168-200 (42.7 - 50.8%) -- 2.3% chance to 2HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Dark Aura Yveltal Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Klefki: 90-105 (28.3 - 33%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Before we start the voting session, I want to submit an Unconventional Pick of my own.... and none other than the OU controversy itself!
:ss/zamazenta-crowned:
Zamazenta-Crowned @ Rusted Shield
Ability: Dauntless Shield
EVs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Howl
- Behemoth Bash
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge

Oblivion Wing merely 3HKOs, so you can outspeed and "threaten to destroy" the whole team with a Howl-boosted assault.

252+ Atk Zamazenta-Crowned Wild Charge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yveltal: 226-266 (57.5 - 67.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Zamazenta-Crowned Behemoth Bash vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yveltal: 186-220 (47.3 - 55.9%) -- 80.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Zamazenta-Crowned Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yveltal: 223-264 (56.7 - 67.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252+ Atk Zamazenta-Crowned Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yveltal: 336-396 (85.4 - 100.7%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

+1 252+ Atk Zamazenta-Crowned Behemoth Bash vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yveltal: 280-330 (71.2 - 83.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Dark Aura Yveltal Dark Pulse vs. 64 HP / 0 SpD Zamazenta-Crowned: 82-97 (24 - 28.4%) -- 97.7% chance to 4HKO
0- Atk Life Orb Dark Aura Yveltal Sucker Punch vs. +1 64 HP / 0 Def Zamazenta-Crowned: 55-64 (16.1 - 18.7%) -- possible 6HKO

Check: Heracross 2.0 :zacian: I think zacian is busted as shit and I love spamming it, fun asf to use.
Counter: Fc :eternatus: This was hard to choose as I really like the others but he did a good job at selling Eternatus as the best in his description.
Unconventional: Cynara :sylveon: I used to meme with this mon as a Yveltal check in usm its pretty funny to use, I tried some weird metronome echoed voice in the past so I'll go with this. Wish and heal bell sounds pretty fire too.

Ok, voting time is over!

Now to show the results!
:ss/xerneas:
With 7 votes, Maxomega and their Xerneas emerges victorious over the other checks!
:ss/eternatus:
With 8 votes in the counters section,
Fc once more succeeds in earning themselves another point with Eternatus!
:ss/sylveon:
And as for Unconventional Picks, Cynara enters the scene with their Sylveon at 5 votes!
Congratulations to you three! You all get one point!
Our next victim is a two in one, able to crush even the mightiest of pokemon with their teamwork! It’s none other than...
Calyrex Ice Rider!
:ss/calyrex-ice:
Calyrex-Ice @ Choice Band
Ability: As One (Glastrier)
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Glacial Lance
- High Horsepower
- Trick
- Icicle Spear / Aromatherapy
While generally uncommon due to its metagame-defining Shadow counterpart, humongous bulk and near-unmatchable power on the physical side make Calyrex-Ice a destructive force that deserves respect due to the general lack of bulky Ice resists in the tier! But are there other ways to get around it? Let’s see what you got to take down this duo of danger!

:bw/kyogre:
Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Ice Beam / Block
- Rest

Kyogre is a solid counter to Choice Band Calyrex-Ice because of its ability to switch into both of its attacks and either set up with Calm Mind, try to burn with Scald, or recover its HP with Rest. Even if Tricked, Kyogre takes its hits better while still being able to dish out heavy attacks in Rain or recover with Rest.

0 SpA Kyogre Scald vs. 0 HP / 8 SpD Calyrex-Ice in Rain: 145-172 (42.5 - 50.4%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Calyrex-Ice Glacial Lance vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Kyogre: 161-189 (39.8 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Calyrex-Ice High Horsepower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Kyogre: 158-186 (39.1 - 46%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Submitting NDM as a check.
:ss/necrozma-dusk-mane:
Necrozma-Dusk-Mane @ Leftovers
Ability: Prism Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Sunsteel Strike
- Toxic
- Moonlight
Honestly, PhysDef NDM is kind of a meme set by now, but it gets the job done, regardless. NDM can come into any attack Caly-Ice throws at it, and while it doesn’t like taking a High Horsepower to the face, it‘s a roll in your favor, most of the time.

Calcs:
252+ Atk Choice Band Calyrex-Ice Glacial Lance vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 130-153 (32.6 - 38.4%) -- 4% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Choice Band Calyrex-Ice High Horsepower vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 192-226 (48.2 - 56.7%) -- 36.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Necrozma-Dusk-Mane Sunsteel Strike vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Calyrex-Ice: 224-266 (65.6 - 78%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Not even tricking a Band is foolproof, as NDM can take advantage of it and smash the big brain mon and ice horse into pieces.

0 Atk Choice Band Necrozma-Dusk-Mane Sunsteel Strike vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Calyrex-Ice: 336-396 (98.5 - 116.1%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

Urshifu SIngle Strike is a CHECK to Ice rider. He only can come in against trick or aromatherapy and win against Ice rider all the time without prio damage.

:Urshifu:
Urshifu @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch

252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu Wicked Blow vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Calyrex-Ice on a critical hit: 414-488 (121.4 - 143.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

The best way to deal with Ice rider is with offensive pressure or with rocks pressure.
