Project Ultra SM Break This Team - WK 48 SKEs tail glow manaphy Rain (Voting)

Time for an archive update. Yes I promised this much earlier but here it is now. Any complaint will see you all stuck with a mega mawile team next week when Voting gets concluding. That also extends to dissing fairies. Akumeoy is now the clear Archive leader and top of the hall of fame with a whopping 5 teams broken by his nominations increasing his tally by one. In addition both Givrix and @MellowyellowHD both moved 1 spot closer to the hall of fame each breaking an additional respectively congratulations. Finally the archive is joined by 4 new members who despite being regular contributors have until now failed to crack the archive but alas there hard work has been rewarded and now they have arrived, Congradulations to 1_TrickPhony , Finchinator , Jordy and Egor for entering the archive.

Without further ado heres how things stand

Time for voting is over. Thank you to everyone who participated this week. We have a tie between Finchinator Volcarona and Slave Of Passion Mamoswine. Both are really good nominations that utterly break this team and because I cant decide which one is better Its a draw. Both of you will now move up in the Archive.

Voting Tally
Greninja 1
Volcarona 4
Kyurem + Magerna 1
Charizard X + Jirachi 2
Mega Scizor
Mamoswine 4
Heatran + Magerna

While I appreaciate that nobody was bothered about my lateness in posting the archive update the fact nobody complained has left me disappointed since it seems everyone is keen to avoid Mega maw. As a result of your timidness and since I'm evil fairy using monster I'll punishing everyone by making you break a Mawile team anyway. Have fun. (Laughs like an evil yandere)

Explanation:
Behold a battlers worst nightmare. Double Fairy/Steel bulky offence. Built around mega mawile and Magerna with the purpose of exploiting the Zygardeless meta the teams goal is to basically chip away at an enemy until one can break the opposing team down. 4 Attacks mega maw is a monster that breaks balance to shreds and still hurts stall thanks to it unpredicatabilty while Shift gear magerna needs only 1 good attack to end a game. Choice Specs Greninja provides both speed control and hazards to aid in cleaning while Rocky helm Chomp punish's contact and lays stealth rock. From there Tangrowth provides a nice sponge checking Ash greninja, rotom and other special attackers that otherwise threaten the team. Rounding it out is Torn T as a stall breaker thanks to metronome boosts Hurricanes and taunt while knock provides utility.

Thats the team. Goodluck this week people. Remember you can nominate either 1 pokemon or a core of 2 to break this team down and please provide an explanation.

Volcarona @ Buginium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 112 Def / 148 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz
- Roost

Tapu Koko @ Leftovers
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 20 HP / 252 SpA / 20 SpD / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Defog
- Roost
- U-turn

Volcarona is able to take advantage of Mega Mawile, Magearna, and Tangrowth to set up and blanket check Mega Mawile. At +1, it can always OHKO TankChomp with Savage Spin-Out after extremely little chip damage. In return, Tapu Koko provides valuable Defog support and lures in Tangrowth, which Koko can use U-turn on to give Volcarona a free turn to set up. Koko can also check Tornadus-T, which Volcarona cannot hope to KO even at +1.

Heracross-Mega @ Heracronite
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Pin Missile
- Rock Blast
- Swords Dance

Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn
- Roost or Whatever

I can't really see one mon breaking this team just by itself. My idea is to capitalize on the team's general weakness to Koko with a mon that can take advantage of Tangrowth. Z Koko inmediately threatens 4 members of this team, while Garchomp fears HP ice on the switch. Therefore this team will be likely to give you momentum by pivoting into Tang, then Heracross can just throw attacks. Heracross can inmediately OHKO Tangrowth, Rock Blast kills Torn on the switch, Garchomp is likely to die to Rock Blast followed by Pin Missile from full and Toxic is the worst it can click. Close combat scares anything else.

252 SpA Tapu Koko Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magearna in Electric Terrain: 306-361 (101.6 - 119.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Tapu Koko Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 92 HP / 0 SpD Mawile-Mega in Electric Terrain: 360-424 (136.3 - 160.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Tapu Koko Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 244-288 (58 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Pin Missile (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tangrowth: 490-580 (121.2 - 143.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Rock Blast (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Garchomp: 100-120 (23.8 - 28.5%)
252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Pin Missile (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Garchomp: 305-365 (72.6 - 86.9%) 96 - 115 Together

Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z

Pinsir is a very terrible threat for this team and with U-Turn support it can find good income to set up or spamming damages.

Thank you everyone for participating once again! I'd like to apologise for the incredible inactivity; I've had an incredibly turbulent week while my cohost has gone awol. Hopefully you can understand why we're late, but at least we're here. Aside from that, it seems like this week's importable was also , which actually does affect a few of this week's submissions but it's a bit too late now.

I'm going to vote Volcarona + Tapu Koko. Volcarona gets any kind of set up after Greninja falls (Who needs a clean switch anyway) Its more or less game over. Tapu koko is just nice icing that makes the job easier

1 - AM, Aragorn the King, Martin, Volcanoheadproduction(yt), LL, Curiosity, Counting Sheep, MultiAmmiratore, , pooyou123456789q, Creator of Chaos, Riddikulusness, Scarf Nihilego, Expert_Occultist, Vertex, Ramses, ThiccTornadus, Poison Adhesive, Mega Star Universe, DKM, 1_TrickPhony, Finchinator, Jordy, Egor
The two in bold are me, Volcanoheadproduction(yt) is (regrettably) my older username :P

Time for voting is over and we have have a new entry into the Archive. Congradulations LL for breaking this team with mega alakazam at 3 votes. Really solid nomination thats hard for this team to deal with once on the field. Thank everyone for there contributions

Vote Tally
Volcarona + Koko - 2
Knock off Mega Zam - 3
Mega Heracross + koko
Mega Pinser + Koko

This weeks Team is shamelessly stolen from the Sample thread and while its not tearing up the meta or gate keeping low ladder players with gimmicks it is different from the usual fare and worthy of breaking. This team is Kommo-o offence featuring rarely used mons like Mega Gyrados, Thundorous and Of Course Kommo-o

Sets:
Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Tomb

Greninja (M) @ Focus Sash

Kommo-o @ Kommonium Z
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature

- Poison Jab
- Clanging Scales

Magearna @ Leftovers
Ability: Soul-Heart

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate

Thundurus @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Nasty Plot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Explanation:
Built around Kommo-o and Multiple set up users, The idea is to provide a clean oppurtunity for one member of the team to sweep. To this end Excvadrill plays the role of both stealth rocker and hazard cleaner removing opposing rocks that otherwise hinder half the teams ability to switch while providing much needed speed control. From there Focus sash greninja provides additional hazards and taunt support. Shift Gear Calm mind magerna is a fairy and gren check that doubles as a back up win con while Nasty Plot Thundurus Rounds out the back up sweepers. Sub Mega-dos smash's through stall and lures in Rotom would would otherwise threaten the majority of the team. Kommo-o of course is the main sweeper packing konnium to access Clangorous Soulblaze.

Overall the team has fairly decent match up against common pokemon and teams but hates the ever present stealth rock so take that into account when making nominations.

Thats the team. I wish you all good-luck this week breaking the team. Happy nominations

I just want to point out that this is a typical example of hyper offense, not bulky offense.

(Curse Scizor will live as long as there is cheese)

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Roost
- Curse

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Mirror Coat
- Recover

I've used this core before precisely to guard against this type of teams. Curse Mega Scizor beats the physical attackers of the team (and even the entire team if they let you accumulate enough boosts), while Gastrodon beats the special ones. Gastro needs Mirror Coat for this particular team because Thundurus can hit it pretty hard with +2 Focus Blast and Gren can exert some pressure with Ice Beam after Taunt; the move is useful in some other circumstances tho (see). The core is also pretty solid in general, amazing synergy.

Volcarona @ Psychium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Psychic
- Quiver Dance
Obligatory Volc, as it seems theres a set that can destroy every team on paper I swear. Psych Z is pretty nice vs this team as there is no Scarfers, and at +1, Volc can ohko everything on the team without Zmove, though Zmove is nice for setting up on Kommo-O if it goes for Zmove on Quiver. Volc can set up on Magearna, Kommo-O and Thundurus-I relatively safely, and if Rocks are up, Thundurus still only has a 25% chance to ohko, Kommo-O needs the poison with Pjab, and while Magearna is not Ohkoed by Fire Blast at +1, +1 Thunderbolt in turn still only has a 25% chance to Ohko after Rocks too, meaning in a pinch, Volc can set up on the 3 even with Rocks. Rocks are still a problem for Volcs reliability however, as fogging them can come at the expense of allowing the opposing team to set up, however Volc is usually ran with double fog increasing opportunities. Also the sashes on both Gren and Exca are annoying, meaning if Volc is low, Greninja can pick off, though Excadrill will struggle getting up both Rocks and keeping Sash intact

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind
- Recover

Reun's usual Acid Armour shenanigans don't really work against Mega Gyara thanks to its base form's immunity to TSpikes, but hey, that just makes it easier to lure! Unless Mega Gyara manages to flinch Reun to death before the blob lands two unboosted Focus Blasts or one +2 Focus Blast, this team's overall reliance on hazards (Magic Guard says hi) and special setup spam (Calm Mind also says hi) means it's pretty much GG.

DD Mega Charizard X can set up pretty easily on Thundy or Magearna and sweep through this team, not much more needs to be said. Personally I tend to prefer EQ over Dragon Claw for its ability to OHKO Heatran, but obviously Dragon Claw is significantly better vs this team in particular and is an obviously viable option in its own right for its ability to hit mons like Latias and Garchomp.
