Project Ultra SM Break This Team - WK 48 VcrakeVs Stall Voting

Magearna @ Fairium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shift Gear
- Calm Mind
- Fleur Cannon
- Flash Cannon

Only Chansey beats this

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Chansey can't 1v1 after a knock off, and Icicle Crash has flinch potential to stop a heal/seismic toss
252 SpA Magearna Twinkle Tackle (195 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Quagsire: 450-531 (114.2 - 134.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye-Mega: 278-330 (91.4 - 108.5%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Tangrowth: 369-435 (91.5 - 107.9%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Zapdos: 348-409 (90.8 - 106.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Quagsire Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 168-200 (55.8 - 66.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 128-152 (42.5 - 50.4%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO

252 Atk Choice Band Weavile Pursuit vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Mew: 372-438 (103 - 121.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO on switch
252 Atk Choice Band Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Mew: 450-530 (124.6 - 146.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Choice Band Weavile Icicle Crash vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Chansey: 390-459 (55.4 - 65.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (after a knock off)
0 SpA Tangrowth Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Weavile: 100-118 (35.5 - 41.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

The only way to beat this core would be burning Weavile really, rocks would hurt Weavile but if you play him right you'd only need a couple switch-ins. Mag switches in on Sableye without danger and doesn't care about Haze due to the Z-move OHKO. And, with rocks up, it can OHKO everything on the enemy team with Fleur Cannon.

Time for Nominations are over and now we begin the voting period. I hope everyone had a nice easter. I apoligize for setting up voting so late. I thought I'd posted it yesterday but actually forget to click post reply...... Anyway I'm really pleased with the nominations and with the exception of the surprisingly absent gengar all are solid choices. Without further ado heres the nominations

Nominations:
Reuniclus
Tapu Lele
Calm mind pain split magerna
Mega Heracross
Mega Gyarados
Tapu Fini + Volcarona
Kartana
Magerna + Weavile

You may vote for up to 2 Nominations and while its not mandatory some reasoning would be appreaciated. Goodluck everybody. The new team should go up in a few days

4 Days and no votes ;(. I guess I'll kick things off.

Tapu Lele - This pokemon be it Calm mind, Taunt and or Specs is an utter menace for stall teams and one wrong switch vs her often spells game. Her power even against chansey cant be understated
Mega Gyarados - Not as splashable as lele but Again it menaces stall and this team is little different needing Tangrowth to stay healthy not to auto lose as Mold Breaker turns quagsire into fodder. You take Tangrowth down you go to town

Time for voting is now over and the time has come in my infinite wisdom to place bring you guys a new team. Its totally not because I'm overseas in japan right now . Anyway Im happy with how this has turned out and Im pleased to announce that JTD783 has made another entry to the archive with the z move kartana nomination congratulations. Hall of fame will be updated soon

Todays team is shamelessly taken from the sample thread since this probably the standard for rain currently.

Explanation:
Dropping more standard choices like kingdra in favour of greninja and mega swampert this team seeks to not only capatilise on rain but minimise its weakness outside. Peliper is standard while specs ash gren and mega swampert form the rain core one using prioty and the other laying rocks in addition to sweeping. Ferrothorn completes the hazard core and handles opposing rain while torn t acts as a stallbreaker with 100% accurate hurricanes. Magerna rounds the team as a back sweeper and answer to fairies.

That's the team. Happy nominations and i wish you all luck. Nominations can contain 1 or 2 pokémon.

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

CB Bulu has the ability to one shot 5/6 Pokemon on the team, one shot 4/6 with Wood Hammer after Rocks and 2hko 4/6 with Horn Leech. While it can be revenge ko'd by Magearna and Torn-T and prediction needs to be made when Ferro is healthy, is ability to dent everything with Horn Leech with little consequence makes Bulu hard to whittle down by the opposing team.
252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 248 HP / 36+ Def Pelipper in Grassy Terrain: 424-501 (131.2 - 155.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Greninja in Grassy Terrain: 842-992 (295.4 - 348% (46.1 - 46.1% recovered)) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Swampert-Mega in Grassy Terrain: 1116-1312 (327.2 - 384.7% (55.1 - 55.1% recovered)) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Superpower vs. 252 HP / 80 Def Ferrothorn: 320-378 (90.9 - 107.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock, Leftovers recovery, and Grassy Terrain recovery

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 252 HP / 24 Def Ferrothorn in Grassy Terrain: 59-69 (16.7 - 19.6% (9.5 - 11.1% recovered))

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Magearna in Grassy Terrain: 214-252 (71 - 83.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Magearna in Grassy Terrain: 134-158 (44.5 - 52.4% (21.6 - 25.5% recovered)) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Charizard-Mega-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Roost
- Hidden Power Electric

HP Electric is a nice tech for Pelipper which can often switch in on this mon which allows Sun to remain up and basically ohko each and every member on this rain team. Even Ash-Gren isnt able to kill Char-Y in Sun with Surf. EVs can of course be adjusted to prevent this as the Speed isnt necessary on Zard here apart from needing to be able to outspeed Swampert. Sun also fucks with Tornadus Hurricanes.

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard-Mega-Y in Sun: 270-318 (90.9 - 107%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Surf vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard-Mega-Y in Sun: 218-260 (73.4 - 87.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (Zard never dies)

Zard Calcs:-

252 SpA Charizard-Mega-Y Hidden Power Electric vs. 248 HP / 224 SpD Pelipper: 312-368 (96.5 - 113.9%) -- 75% chance to OHKO (Run Modest to always kill)

252 SpA Charizard-Mega-Y Flamethrower vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Tornadus-Therian in Sun: 280-330 (93.3 - 110%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO (Fire Blast always kills)

Others get popped by the fire move and Solar Beam.

EDIT: With Surf, Gren is even worse. Thanks to SaveMeJebus for pointing that out!

This mon does even better since the set uses Surf on Ash Greninja and not Hydro Pump

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Rotom-W is an absolute menace for this team to deal with, especially when paired with an adequate breaker, Nothing wants to switch into it between Volt Switch and Will-O-Wisp/Hydro Pump, it can pivot into multiple mons on the team (Pert, Torn, Peli,), and is an all-around irritant for this team to deal with. Mega Swampert shouldn't be switching into Rotom-W for fear of this happening, so Rotom-W can pivot around on this team and go into teammates like Mega Medicham or Kartana to dismantle the team. Really solid mon that irritates the fuck out of rain and can more or less win rain games by itself a lot of the time.

Mantine @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 196 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Scald
- Roost
- Haze

I love Mantine, and it has a pretty solid matchup versus Rain. And while it's passive as hell, Rain-boosted Scalds are annoying to everything except Ferrothorn and Pelipper.

Being immune to Rain-boosted Water moves is also nice since it forces the Rain user to be more aggressive, which you can exploit. Gotta watch out for Rocks though, as well as Magearna.

With this spread you do live unboosted Magearna's Thunderbolt after Rocks 100% of the time so you can fire off a Haze if they've only Shift Gear'd up.

Calcs
252 Atk Swampert-Mega Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Mantine: 113-133 (30.2 - 35.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Mantine Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Swampert-Mega in Rain: 100-118 (29.3 - 34.6%) -- 7.3% chance to 3HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 196+ SpD Mantine: 130-154 (34.7 - 41.1%) -- 2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Mantine Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Greninja-Ash in Rain: 71-84 (24.9 - 29.4%) -- 100% chance to 4HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Tornadus-Therian Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 196+ SpD Mantine: 122-146 (32.6 - 39%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Tapu Koko @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Wild Charge
- U-turn
- Grass Knot
- Brave Bird

Kind of a meme pick I saw in a blunder live yesterday. This thing is such a menace against rain, especially the ABR & BKC rain, as I'm fairly positive it was tailor made to dismantle it. Played around with it a bit and it's pretty fun to use. Requires a bunch of prediction, but if you get it right, the reward is absurdly good.

As much as I love that one scarf grass knot victini rmt I saw, my nom has to be this pokemon. CTC really do be the GOAT of builders.

Sorry for the wild delay, but thank you everyone for participating once again! Unfortunately I'm going to have to disqualify the Charizard submission following the viability rule listed in the OP; tl;dr Charizard simply cannot afford to be walled by Heatran and Tyranitar in this meta. Anyways, here are this week's submissions:

Voting closes whenever we decide it is. Happy voting!

Im back from holiday and my roster is stabilised so this long voting period is over. My Votes goes to Rotom W and Tapu Koko. As both are solid picks in the meta outside of there rain match ups and in this day and age you need as much role compression as you can get. Congratulations to@Mannat for making the archive for the first time with your Rotom Nomination stealing it with 3 Votes.

Explanation:
Probably the most common Volt Switch Offence team I've ran into on the ladder. Featuring 2 fairies and built around taking hits and volt switching until either mawile breaks the opponent or Kartana cleans the team overall a solid choice in the balance filled meta. Mega Mawile runs the 4 attacks to makimise lure potential without needing to set up While Torn T and Garchomp whom doubles as a rocker are the primary stall breakers. Rotom W and Magerna form the volt switching backbone of the team taking hits, spreading status and in magernas case ensuring a certain common clefable cant get in the teams way. Kartana rounds out the team proving much needed speed control to team that would otherwise have none.

Teams Not without weakness and things like priority T-wave or fast mons like mega bunny and Ash-greninja can render this already slow team at the mercy of faster threats should they knock your counter options out early.

Thats the team and I wish you all good-luck for this week. You may nominate either a single mon or a core that breaks the team. Nominations will end sometime next week and a short explanation of your choice is appreaciated.

PS: In Addition if you nominate a mon thats not on the viability list you must provide replays that are 1600+ or from tournaments and explain how it works in the meta. If you fail to do so those nominations wont be eligible for voting.
