Online Competition ~Ultra Spooky Cup~ :ghost: | Shiny Mimikyu as entry gift!

Regarding Team 1, I don't see much use in Defog. Hazard removal isn't that great in 3v3 (prevention is preferred), and you're not running any Sash mons or Volcarona on that team so you're not exactly weak to the hazard. Sticking with that nature; I'd consider Iron Head to cheese Mimikyu with para flinching. Especially since Mimikyu is one of your uglier matchups with that team.
o the first pokepaste was just me throwing out ideas that I used on previous teams and on one team I had defog silvally but yeah when I did have it on one of my teams, I'd rarely used defog so if I decide to use silvally on my final team, ill definitely look into replacing it with either iron head or rock slide to play the paraflinch game

You forgot to put 4 EV in HP.

It's quibble, but an EV almost change a whole game so ...

Is anyone running anything else other than Focus Sash on Marshadow? I just want to know if I need to take into account possible Life Orb etc sets when doing damage calcs...

I took some time to add a handful of Pokemon relevant to the Ultra Spooky Cup to my battle spot giveaway. There may be some other useful stuff here, but these sets aren't tailored for this format. Speaking of which, thanks to Theorymon for basically spoon feeding me sets for these mons, and donating the Bewear.

If you somehow don't have a Marshadow yet (almost mandatory for this comp), I'll be available sometime tomorrow night (EST) for trades, just ping me here or on Discord.

Marshadium Z is decently common, +1 (from Bulk Up) has a 68% chance to OHKO Pex after rocks. I lost to a Choice Band set the other day, and I've tested Scarf myself which seemed really nice. I haven't seen a lot of Life Orb though.

I need some help. I’ve been trying a team out on Showdown that I think is good, but I can’t seem to win any matches. Could I get some advice?

Hi,

It would be super cool if some od you could rate two of my mons to maybe make suggestions:

Gliscor, jolly, poison heal, toxic orb
252 ev atk, 252 ev spe, 4 ev def
Earthquake, Facade, Swords dance, Protect
Needs good prediction cuz of not sooo good bulk but after sd it destroys nearly everything it can outspeed (which is a lot). Any suggestions here for EV or attacks? It should be a offensive variant of Gliscor

Alolan Muk, Careful, Assault Vest
252 hp, 252 spdef, 4 def
Poison Jab, Knock off, Shadow Sneak, Rock tomb
For sponging special attacks and counter special attacker. Works great so far. Ideas which I want to rated:
- nature spdef+ and init- for underspeeding Aegislash?
- Other attacks or are this the best? Considering Payback

Thanks for every help!

I’m not a big competitive know-it-all, but I’ll try to offer help.

Offensive Gliscor is risky to run, as Nihilego, Darkrai, and Marshadow all outspeed it; they can also use Hidden Power Ice, Ice Beam, and Ice Punch respectively. In addition, while Facade would be very powerful, there are many ghost-types in this field, meaning that Facade would be useless against foes like Marshadow, Mimikyu, and Aegislash.

My defensive Gliscor’s setup gives it little options against flying Pokémon, so I would recommend Ice Fang instead of Facade (helpful for Hydreigon, other Gliscors, Krookodile).

The Alolan Muk looks good, but I don’t know anything about specific EV calculations.

I just finished up with all my trophies at Battle Resort so am attempting to scramble a team together! Hope I make the deadline!! Trying to avoid the usual, even if it means utter humiliation.

I think is a good team! You can try to change silvalli with mimikyu
That just turned on a lightbulb:

Mimikyu @ Life Orb
Adamant/4 HP 252 Atk 252 Spe
Shadow Claw
Play Rough
Swords Dance/Shadow Sneak
Trick Room

Trick Room
- Volcarona can finally land Shattered Psyche on Naganadel
- Adamant Marshadow wins Speed matches against Jolly Marshadow and Timid Darkrai
- Rotom-Mow can land burns on Marshadow and Mimikyu
- Gliscor can destroy Choice Scarf Xurkitree and all Nihilego

Thanks for the suggestion

I would switch either Ice punch or Rock tomb for Close combat on marshadow. One of the things that makes marshadow so strong is it’s ghost and fighting coverage, plus neither Ice punch or Rock tomb are good enough to really justify using over Close combat.

For Toxapex, I would definitely use regenerator over merciless. Toxapex is just too passive to really take advantage of merciless, and most of the time you can beat Pokemon with just toxic plus recover anyways. The extra health from regenerator can really make a big difference too. You might also consider adding haze over either toxic or ice beam to stop setup, since Toxapex is so passive.

For Rotom-M you might consider using thunderbolt over thunder for better accuracy, and running Grassium Z over Electrum Z. One of the main benefits of using Rotom-M is its ability to switch in on electric and ground types, so grassium Z would be a lot better for beating those, and that way you also don’t have to deal with the low accuracy of thunder.
