With that, our week (finally) concludes! Our winner this time is vivalospride :] Congrats!

Somewhat predictably, our next week is on Breloom! Freshly unbanned from the tier by a landslide majority, Breloom uses its sky-high Attack, access to Technician-boosted priority, and access to Spore to be a versatile offensive threat. It even has access to Poison Heal for some nifty strategies there. It commonly struggles versus Pokemon like Amoonguss and Crobat, but it still makes itself out to be a top-tier offensive Pokemon despite its shortcomings.

Submissions are due Saturday!

Here’s my Breloom team. The idea was to build around TSR’s Bulk Up Breloom set that he posted in Next Best Thing since it is absolutely fire. The biggest thing when working with Breloom is having a Latias, and general Ghost-type switch in, as well as a Pursuit trapper. Alo-Muk is the perfect Pokémon for the job. Next I needed a rocker that can 1v1 most Defoggers, Spinnera, and Rockers. Specially Defensive Gliscor has the ability to 1v1 Pokémon like Breloom, Swampert, Muk-Alola, and Latias, which is perfect for a team built around Breloom. My next choice was a wall breaker with access to Defog that can also kill Scizor. I chose Defog Life Orb Latias with HP Fire because it can surprise most Scizors and do massive damage to Gliscor. At this point I realized I struggled a little with bulky Water-types, needed momentum, and a form of speed control. Mega-Manectric filled this position because it provides so much utility by Volt-Switching, revenging Mega-Houndoom and Mega-Pidgeot, and stunting offensive threats like Scizor with Intimidate. Finally I needed just a bit more speed control and something that could revenge kill Pokémon like Mega-Aerodactyl, and work as a cleanse. I chose Scizor to make a Volt-Turn core with Mega-Manectric and to revenge kill other Scizors, Azumarill, and other threats.

Yeah so webs is complete ass, but I did my best cause Loom webs sounded like fun and I didn't lose in my couple games of testing so I thought it was good enough :]. So yeah basically priority spam is pretty necessary for webs considering Serperior is such an issue and one of the main reasons webs isn't doing so hot rn. Having Bulletproof Kommo as my rocker I thought would be fun since it is a pretty decent check to Stakataka which is like another big reason webs is the way it is rn. Scarf Chandy is cool as a Scizor check and just something I can go into and pray for a burn when I see something like Crobat lmao. Araquanid is my webber of choice simply cause I think it is the best webber in the tier with Smeargle not too far behind, being able to be of use late game and break things with it's absurd Liquidation damage is fun. Scizor + Breloom make the "priority spam" part of the team I was talking about, and they synergize pretty well offensively so theres that. Mega Altaria is the thing I have for Hydreigon which is another big threat to webs, and it just gives me a fairy type which is always good to have.

WARNING: This team heavily relies on sacking shit and spamming priority just for chip to overcome the many many matchup problems it has, have fun with that shit.

band loom is possibly its worst set but like it's funny so

This is a basic hazard stacking bo team around the core I mentioned in the beginning. Gliscor(checking Nape, Entei and other fire types), Klefki (checking Latias) and Tenta (checking Breloom and Azumarill) provides a defensive backbone to the team whilst providing rocks/spikes and hazard removal; with the help of spikes, cb Azumarill and specs Hydreigon can both clean very easily. Breloom works as the stallbreaker for the team, sporing opposing mons. When battling, what surprised me the most was that Breloom can win other grass mons quite easily: +2 252+ atk facade ohkoes Amoonguss, and it can even live a CC from Virizion. I decided to use 252 atk 252 spe adamant to speed tie against opposing adamant looms.

So, the first guy is a LO speedy Breloom that is kind of a standard set but still puts in a lot of work. I put Mega Aero on next because it's pretty good offensive partner that handles faster threats for it, while Mr. Loom takes care of bulky waters, being a decent check to Hippo, and putting randos to sleep if need be. I brought in Bronzong because it handles Mamoswine, Dragon Spam, great rocker, and Explosion is a fun tech to use when it outlives it's usefulness. Explosion has a chance to KO Crawdaunt after rocks, gyro ball can KO Mamo after rocks, and both can do big damage to fast threats. Latias helps with speed control, and good defogger. Suicune comes next because Loom + Lati take care of water absorbers that would get in it's way of sweeping, and helps to weaken teams for Breloom or Mega Aero to sweep. Hydreigon is my fairy lure, U-Turn Momentum, and a great bluff for scarf. This team requires a good amount of doubling, handles fat teams pretty well, and can be fun to use.

DoomLoom is back at it again, and it is still fun and still good. They complement each other very well and can really cause havoc on the rest of the tier. I opted to go fo sash loom because latias is a very dependable defogger on this team and I am pretty good at managing hazards, and Sash allowing to guaranteed live a hit from full and defeat a pokemon it otherwise wouldn't has been very valuable to me during matches. Mega-Houndoom does what it does best; its fast and it hits hard. Latias, as I said, is a very riliable defogger and has recover for longevity. Its also hice to throw out a draco meteor and cripple something every once in awhile. The defensive backbone of this team is Spdef Gliscor and your standard suicune. It is a very solid defensive core that is hard to wear down. Mega Mane may seem kinda difficult to handle, but between breloom's mach punch, trick room shenanigans, a healthy latias and Mega Mane's difficulty switching in, it can be easily played around. Breloom and Mega houndoom are also very good at getting rid of the grass types and bulky waters that give suicune a hard time. Finally, stakataka rounds out the team as a great late game cleaner. I have played a lot of matches where Doom+loom has been so overwhelming that the opponent sometimes is forced to give up their stakataka checks or even overlook the mon as a whole. Once a trick room is up in the late game, however, most opponents have to backpedal and figure out how to wast 5 turns. Trick room is also nice for breloom which can come in with a few turns left and fire off faster bullet seeds and drain punches.
