Apologies for all the delays as of late, both this thread and myself have been running low on steam as of late. This time I actually checked but we have another tie between Misa and Smallsmallrose tonight, so I'll leave the voting open until the morning in hopes that we'll have a vote or two that can break the tie!

Ok! Sorry for the delay my sleep schedule is fukd xD
Congrats to Amane Misa for winning this week!

Next up on our list is Kyurem. It sets itself apart from Hydreigon with an Ice typing that arguably stacks better with Dragon offensively. Combined with just the right coverage like Earth Power and Focus Blast, as well as the ever-useful ability Pressure, Kyurem can make for an excellent ch01ce to put the hurt on defensive cores. Unfortunately, Ice typing brings it an unfortunate weakness to Stealth Rock as well as a weakness to the ever looming Mach Punch and Bullet Punches running around the tier. Deadline's still Saturday so get to posting!

Here's an old Kyurem I built so long I don't even remember if it was early or pre-USUM, but it net me a good amount of wins back when I still used it and a pretty fun one as well. This team is basically built around Specs Kyurem + CB Entei (I made a post about this core in the cores thread months and months ago) which combined hit the tier incredibly hard, but suffer from glaring rocks weaknesses. Obviously there a better cores with less drawbacks than this one, but it's still a solid core from my experience and Kyurem is just a fucking monster that you just can not sleep on. (Btw the Celebi set used to be NP 3 attacks w LO, but I changed it to Groundium). Swampert for rocks + check to things like Mane and scarf Ape, scarf krook to trap things to let Kyurem and Entei break shit more freely and Sciz for Defog. Team is p weak to Breloom and M-Alt, but not unwinnable against them.

So I wanted to build around Kyurem..the first thing that came to my mind was Blastoise. It provides Spin support and also has good type synergy. So anyway, I wanted a good stallbreaker and a Grass type. Decidueye fit well. Because I like making triple RU teams (and a weird obsession with it), I decided to use Rhyperior. It provides a Flying type check, a Manectric check, and rocks. I looked rather Lati-weak, so I decided to add Scizor to Pursuit trap it while also providing a revenge killer besides Kyurem. Lastly, I wanted a strong Hydreigon check. Togekiss fit well.

Subroost Kyurem is pretty good generally, but it needs a spinner. Tentacruel seems like a great partner in general, it's hazard control and it handles scizor. T-spikes are rarely useful, but in theory they allow kyurem to substitute-stall some threats like primarina if need be. Gliscor's just a generally good mon, and rocks fit into the hazardstacking playstyle quite well. The speed on that set allows it to uturn on stuff like vincune and heracross, and also surprises a few nidokings, but you can pretty much just run whatever you want. It's gliscor, there's about a dozen ways to EV that thing. At this point I thought I wanted some speed control, and didn't really want lati or dreigon, so I went with scarfape. Pretty standard set. Not much to say about it. Klefki is a mandatory answer to floaty dragons and also sets spikes, which again, helps a lot to break teams since this team so far doesn't really have a lot of wallbreaking power aside from Kyurem. And Celebi rounds it all up by sort of dealing with stall and swampert. I originally ran a hexgar in this slot but then realized that I needed some sort of answer to Swampert other than clicking X.

Thanks to vivalospride (I think it was you but it might've been someone else) for pointing out that hexgar's a bad choice, and also for reminding me that subroost needs 56 rather than 52 hp EVs. Also thanks to pif and Juuno for suggesting the changes for the gliscor and tentacruel sets.

So, this team was actually built around the legendary :cbdarm:... I decided to go with a cool Volt Turn core with Band Darm and Hp Grass Mmane to lure things like Swampert, Toad, Quag, etc. that can kinda-ish switch into a Band Darm's Flare Blitz. Now since I have Hp Grass > Hp Ice on Mmane, I decided to get something to make sure the Gliscor matchup is proper. So here comes Sub Roost Kyurem w/ Toxic... having Mamo woulda been so easy to put here for role compression purposes but rip mamo ;w;, but Sub Roost Kyurem is actually so fun to use and helps this team's Mmane, Gliscor, and stall matchup a shit ton. With this, the team is lookin super rocks weak, having to take 25% from rocks when switching into an EQ from Gliscor sucks for Kyurem, and Darm lacks recovery and durability because of it's weakness to rocks and basically killing itself over time with the spamming of Flare Blitz. Togekiss comes in due to this weakness to rocks... on top of this though, it also gives the team a much needed Fairy type, Ground immunity, and consistent Serp/Loom answer w/ T-Wave support to synergize with band Darm. Now Choice Scarf Krookodile which serves as the team's speed control and primary Maero/Mega Manectric answer. Krook is also very useful for the CM Lati m/u and Pursuit trapping things like Lati, Chandelure, and primarily Mega Manectric. So now I have Cobalion w/ Occa Berry which I think is p neat as it can kinda serve as a secondary Hydreigon/Mega Houndoom answer, a lot of people don't see it coming either... also the team lacks fire resists, so Occa Berry seemed p cool here.

Reminder: :CBDARM:

I wanted to use Specs Kyurem because this busted thing breaks EVERYTHING. There are no real switch ins for STAB Draco and Ice Beam that don't get nuked by one of its coverage moves. Not even the immense Blissey is a proper switch with focus blast in my back pocket, and Earth Power creams pokemon like Tenta and both my coverage moves can cream Empoleon. Now to support Kyurem, I wanted two hazard removers so I could naturally cover most of the tier. Serp seemed like a pretty good pick since it can pressure many water and/or ground typed hazard setters, can act as an additional wincon, on top of being a spore immunity and a pretty speedy mon, plus, its late game cleaning potential makes it pretty sick. Rotom-Heat on the other side of the coin, checks Scizor and birds pretty handily, while defogging on steel typed setters, so I thought he'd be a pretty good fit. I wanted a steel type and still felt a LITTLE Loom weak, I also felt screwed against CM Latias, so I brought in a Doublade, a mon that could also be a convenient wincon beyond just spamming wallbreakers. I wanted wish support for all my respectably bulky mons, as well as a measure for Hydra and scarfed Lati, so I put a Sylveon, with HP fire over heal bell as I didn't want to weaken my Scizor matchup and had a pretty solid toxic absorber in Doublade. My Scizor matchup still felt a little iffy, but I still wanted a rocker, something else that could check Gliscor (Because as much as Kyurem annihilates it I don't like harding it in) and a Volt switch immunity. So I brought in Swampert, one of my favorite mons that I somehow never end up using on my UU teams for whatever reason. As it compresses a few of the roles I wanted to fill in in one slot, and it appreciates Sylveon's recovery handouts in its own lack of it. This is one of the few teams I have made in the past month or so without any dedicated stallbreaker but with two wallbreakers that can be sustained by wish support I saw this as no issue. My lack of speed control also may look annoying on paper but some combination of Sylveon, Swampert, and/or Doublade can check most setup sweepers I'd need the speed control for, plus Serp is pretty darn fast in its own right.
